The Metrotel

Really friendly staff, very clean and comfortable. We were on the second floor, the room was well set out with a kitchen including a dishwasher and Coffee pod machine. The room was spotless with a good shower and king size bed. Ample assortment of different hot drink sachets including good quality tea and coffee. The hotel is an easy walk to town or the beach and has a great car park which is safe which meant we could leave the car and walk everywhere we wanted to go. We will definitely stay again when in town. Book ahead and you will get a great deal, you won’t be disappointed. Book the upper levels and you can also enjoy a small balcony. There is a lift for those who find stairs challenging.

Nothing we did not like. Exceptional staff which includes the fabulous cleaner’s who do a great job.

Location was perfect! Close proximity to everything and all within walking distance. Very spacious and clean Staff were simply amazing! Professional, kind, cheerful, organised and nothing was too much love for a problem. Rooms beautifully designed and you had everything you needed.

Our neighbours, they played music 🎶 for hours with a loud base that travelled. Reception was fabulous and called them straight away. Sadly the neighbours waited a few more hours and around midnight started again. Didn’t want to wake anyone so we put up with it.

Location was excellent. Easy walk to the waterfront and to the local Mall. Only 1 street away from the main eateries and restaurants. Clean and comfortable rooms. Staff were great, easy to communicate with. Parking was onsite and free.

It has the look and feel of a hotel, unfortunately does not have pool, or spa facilities. Found that rates were a little high considering limited facility. Minor details such as bathroom cleanliness, toilet roll holder was coming off the wall, and bedding (the flat sheet was missed), would increase the scores.

Clean, bright, spacious. Bang in the centre of the CBD. Felt safe, comfortable with fantastic cleaning staff who were super attentive but discreet. Perfect!

We were in town for Americarna and had a vehicle in the event. It’s unlikely you won’t get a parking spot but it’s also not guaranteed. In one occasion we couldn’t park which just takes the edge off the stay. Maybe allocate parking spots to rooms which would solve the problem.

Clean and comfortable room with a super kingsize bed, perfect pillows, good heat pump, great studio kitchen facilities, we had an easy after hours check in, friendly staff. This seems to be the best location with plenty of awesome food options from cafes and food trucks to restaurants within a short stroll. Aswell as the seaside a street over with lovely views and boardwalk area and a mall directly across from the metrotel 🛍

Parking, first in first serve! Alternatively there is close street parking options available.

The people make the difference at the Metrotel! While the rooms are amazing, and we were very comfortable, the exceptional service started prior to my journey when I spoke with Shay who was able to accommodate my request and made be feel like a VVIP - very, very important guest! The hotel was central to the locations we needed to get to during our visit to New Plymouth and the room we had was large, extremely comfortable and airy! I would recommend this hotel in a heartbeat!

The shower was a little small, and the glass didn't stop the water from wetting the floor - I hate a wet bathroom floor!

There wasn't anything not to like. Check-in process was quick and easy. The room was fantastic, with all the facilities needed. The bed was so comfortable that my husband tried to find the brand of the bed so we could purchase one😍. I would recommend anyone staying in New Plymouth for the night or the weekend, should definitely stay here. Thank you Metrotel for a comfortable stay. We will continue to stay here whenever we are in town😊

There was nothing we didn't like👌

The staff were the star. Very prompt, great housekeeping and fixed the coffee machine the minute a problem was raised. Glad to have parking available for free which is very rare in hotels. Rooms were huge and cleaned to very high standards

Really wish that rooms facing the street were soundproof or some form of management about it will be helpful - noise of party goers and loud traffic were startling and makes one feel slightly insecure

The room was very clean and quite spacious with a full-size fridge and dishwasher. The location was fantastic, close to the coastal walkway, shops, cafes etc. There was plenty of parking for everyone.

My only complaint is the room was very hot, we had one at the front of the building with a balcony. We kept the window open when we out during the day which helped a lot but found it too noisy if we had the window and door open when we were there. They did have a heat pump which we tried to cool the room, but it was very ineffective.

Clean room. Comfortable bed. Good wi-fi. Fantastic location: just 5-min walk to sea-front and excellent path along esplanade. Also close to restaurants, hotels, art gallery. Short drive to Egmont National Park for great walks.

Kettle was broken but we were assured that it would be replaced for next guests. We were able to buy early morning lovely coffees on the opposite corner. Also bathroom sink was slow drainage and similarly that was going to be attended to.
