Brougham Heights Motel

The room (room 1) was spotless, spacious and comfortable. Included a kitchenette, with a table and 2 chairs and also 2 comfortable padded chairs. A big window provided plenty of natural light. The bathroom was roomy and modern and had a large spa bath with a shower overhead. The spa bath was a delightful surprise and worked a treat. However, I discovered that 4 palms worth of shower gel creates way too much foam, so beware! The staff were very friendly and helpful and the premises peaceful and easy to drive into.

Everything was lovely. It would be nice to have some spa bath gels available? Then perhaps I wouldn't have spent ages scooping out foam LOL

I love pure much everything was amazing

It's not like I don't like or their fault is just the weather was super hot 32 and the air on the floor was amazing but the two fans in the upstairs room wasn't ery good. The ceiling fan not very efficient but the portable fan good but We sleep 3 people in there and just one could have the fan. My only suggestion would be one portable fan more or 2 more for upstairs in the summer. Aside from that was perfect and wasn't their fault really....just an extremely hot day.

This is the third time we have stayed at Brougham Heights and we stay here because of the friendly staff, the room cleanliness, the safe parking and the location. It is easy to find and is conveniently located close to good restaurants, supermarkets and town. We stayed in a different room this time but enjoyed it just the same. We will probably stay again if we ever need to be in New Plymouth again.

The pillows are a little flat and we couldn't find a spare blanket in the room, however this is an easy fix and i just had to go to reception and grab another one so no big deal. The only other thing is there were no jets on the spa bath in this particular room we stayed in, all other rooms we have stayed in have had this feature in the spa.

TV/ entertainment. We booked a one bed room family apartment and there were two TVs provided on both rooms. One TV was completely out of order and for the other one, there was no TV remote to change the inputs to DVD or our own fire stick. Other than that, it was a very comfortable stay! Highly recommended.

We've stayed here before and loved it so that is why we came back. The room was as remembered, clean, well equipped, nice and clean bathroom, all in all very comfortable. Given the time of year and weather we experienced it was nice to come back to a warm room (thanks to double glazing) and then have a heat pump that worked really well, double glazing was also appreciated to block out road noise.

There were a group of people that stayed on our first night that were having a get together out the front of their room until about 3am. It kept me up until about 3:30-4:00am which was very annoying. They were loud and rude (yelling instead of talking). My mother stayed in the room next to us and had the same issue with them. I called reception a few times and was unable to get through to have them tell them to be quiet.

heat pump downstairs did not work on our first night, so room was a bit hot on first night, but it was fixed the next day which we appreciated a lot

Second stay here and was still great. Nice spacious room with comfortable bedding. Enjoyed the bath, sky tv and free wifi was great. Can park right outside your unit. Walking distance to cafes and restaurants.

Main Street can be noisy in mornings but not a problem if you’re gone by 8am. Couldn’t really fault much else, is good value for money.

The room was nice but the owner was not interested in the Sky TV which kept dropping out. Was eventually fixed. The entrance door rattled in the wind due to the rubber buffer having worn out. The staff new all about it but nothing was done. The electrical contactor on the switch board had dirty pole faces and squealed all the time. They just needed polishing. One of the staff heard it and told the owner but nothing was done. Great motel but let down by poor maintenance.

Location is great, parking good, friendly hosts, sky in lounge and freeview in bedroom. Clean and tidy

Wifi was quite slow. Shower was poor & beds are soft if your used to medium,firm. Otherwise good stay for 2 nights

We were in room #15 where the bedroom was located upstairs and living, dining, kitchen and bathroom all downstairs. Room was big enough for 3 people. Bedroom is a very good size.

- Bedroom only has room for 2x suitcases to be off the floor yet it sleeps 3 people. - Bedroom became a hot box even with the fan on full and windows open. Fan also making noises like its going to spin off the ceiling - Wasted space under the stairs - Very small breakfast bowl for cereal - Very limited toilet paper available, for 3 females we ran out so went and brought more. - The motel being full yet there were not enough car parks for everyone. Coming back from the concert Saturday night was frustrating to have to drop the kids off to the room then go find a car park, when it stated car parking facilities were available with no booking required.
