Scandic Sjølyst

Breakfast was great, room was comfortable and staff was helpful (but I think that's like that in all the Scandic hotels). It's located in nice place to start the trip (by foot) to Viking Museum, Fram and then the ferry to Oslo center. If you don't expect a "night life" it's perfect.

I was surprised, that Hotel lobby bar/restaurant is closed on Saturday and Sunday. Also - google maps is leading you to side entrance (openable only by a card after checking in) - It's not only me who was confused, I met a guy from Norway who was also trying to figure out how to enter.

Location is some distance from Oslo's centre, but - the walk along waterfront to the centre past marina and port is delightful (apart from noise from adjacent dual carriageway). Alternatively, Skøyen suburban railway station is only a few hundred metres away and gets to the centre in 5 or 6 minutes. Room was clean and comfortable. Good breakfast buffet with plenty of choice.

Area (Skøyen) surrounding hotel is a bit quiet with little choice of places to eat or (if you can afford it) drink. One of these ("Qui" if you're in the area), despite saying it was open till 21:30, when I arrived at 20:50, proclaimed itself closed (I looked clean and respectable, honestly).

New building. New equipment, finishes, modern interior. Hotel gave me quit room on the top floor which oversees backyard, as I requested. Rich breakfast. A guy on the reception gave me good recommendations on what to see during 24h stay in Oslo, and marked everything on the map (which they provided). Hotel located in 5-7 mins walk from the train station - direct connection to Oslo Airport (there is direct speed train - running at ~190-200km/h) and to the city centre (domestic trains) - no need taxi or rented car there. Overall I liked everything in Oslo - people really worry about people around, I been in a lot of countries - but this visit is the best User/Traveller experience which has been build by country/city.

1. Overcrowded breakfast floor during the breakfast. Haven’t seen so many people trying to grab something. Uncontrolled chaos. But breakfast (range of options) was very good. 2. 22:00 the kitchen was closed, taking into consideration, that it is not a city centre not nice experience (but reception guy recommended to visit pizza place in couple of mins walk from the hotel), especially when you just arrived (be prepared in advance).

Breakfast buffet was very nice with a lovely range of gluten-free options.

They falsely advertise king size bed, it was two single beds put together and the room was tiny. I went to reception to see if they mistakenly put me in a queen bedroom but there was no mistake. The receptionist kindly understood my frustration and offered to change us to a Queen bedroom in the new hotel building and those rooms were much nicer and bigger with a proper double bed. I didn’t catch your name to thank you properly on the review but if you see this, thank you so much!! Your colleague wasn’t that helpful and that attitude I didn’t appreciate… I’m glad you picked up on our conversation and took over my reservation, that changed the whole narrative of our stay!!

Breakfast was excelent! Probably one of the best breakfast I ever had and very diverse. Location was also great, near train station (2-3 minutes walking), only 1 station to the city center. You don’t need a car, it’s the best option to use the train (3 minutes journey to National Theatre), actually I left my car in the garage (20 euro/day). The hotel is a good value for money.

I think it was better to pay the parking at the reception desk, not in the garage at a machine that not working properly in english and paying in advance for 24 hours, not at the end. No indicators to go out from the garage to the reception.

Breakfast is amazing!! something to suit everyone and more.. It was quiet, very comfortable, soft but supportive bed, good for sway backs. lots of space to sit and also put stuff. Location is great, it’s very quick to the centre and also good for visits down to Bygdøy (30 bus), only watch out with some public transport! From the train station make sure you take the L trains, NOT the T ones, to get to Skøyen Stop , for example the L12 is good!

had a problem with one of our key cards but otherwise very good, and we could leave our luggage there with no problem for a few hrs after checking out to be able to sight see a bit more.

Staying at this hotel can be described in one word - exceptional. We had a room reserved from 3 p.m. We arrived around half past noon, hoping we could at least put our luggage away so we wouldn't walk around town with a suitcase. We couldn't even think that the room was ready. Our kind receptionist asked - do you want to check-in? Incredibly. The room was ready. We got a room that was facing opposite the street, so there was no noise from outside at all. We had an LCD TV, and free (great) internet. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was spacious enough with everything you need (towels, shampoos, hair dryer). The hotel is in a great location. There are several shops nearby as well as a supermarket. The hotel was also easily accessible by public transport to any part of the city. For those whose plane lands at Torp Sandefjord Airport, there is a 10-minute walk from the hotel with a bus stop that goes directly to the airport.

Everything was great.

Good location - really close to train station and tram stops. A quieter area just 10 mins outside the main part of Oslo by tram. The hotel was clean, nice looking and breakfast was SUPERB. I would go back just for that, especially because they have such a large variety of food that I would eat as much as I could handle at breakfast and not have to eat for several hours after that (since prices of Norway are crazy expensive). staff are very nice there as well. Excellent value!

Room was just a little too small for my preference but did not make my time there any less enjoyable.. just a preference thing.

The room was spacious and the bed very comfortable- great water pressure in the shower. The breakfast was great had plenty of options (sweet and savoury), as well as catered to special needs (gluten free and vegetarian/vegan). Super friendly and polite staff. Location was good, close to the airport train (so easy to reach) + Vigelandsparken and Bygdøy. A bit further from the central attractions (like the Opera house), but easily accesible by bike (Oslo bikes right across street at the hotel´s entrance). Maschmanns market close by for amazing pizza!

Super amazing stay. At first we thought the hotel is too far out of town, but it’s only 2 stations away from central. Can easily get to the Norwegian museum of culture history by his, only two stations from the hotel. The beds were maximum comfort, both me and my wife slept as well as never before in a hotel. (Sounds fake, but it’s true) our room was located in the most modern part of the hotel, the room was clean and had everything you need. And breakfast is from another world. A selection that leaves to open wishes. Sit down and enjoy!
