Hotel Altus Poznań Old Town

Hotel Altus made our stay special with an upgrade and some personalized touch to the room, they were also able to arrange a nice surprise vase of roses on request (thank you very much!). The room was nice with city view and comfortable beds. Great location with good access to local restaurants, pubs, and public transportation; you can also easily have food delivered to the hotel. Room service is only on request, which was nice because we liked not being disturbed. It's also easy to get taxi/Uber from the hotel's location.

(02/2023) There is currently some renovation going outside, which might limit your traveling if you're going by car. There is some noise during the day from the construction if you open the windows - just FYI if you prefer a more quiet place. Regarding the room, sometimes the entrance door and wardrobe made random loud noises, probably coming from the hallway, which startled us from time to time. The safety locker can be a little bigger (it doesn't fit a 12 inch tablet). Room temperature still felt pretty warm despite turning down the AC to 16°C, but rather too warm than too cold I suppose.

The staff was very helpful and offered me a room several hours before the official check in time, and later agreed to change my room to one with a much better view on a higher floor (9th). This room was great. I am very satisfied with the quality. The bed was comfortable and the view was amazing. The staff was smiling and helpful at all times.

The moment I arrived which was before check in time (at 12.45 lunch time), I was immediately offered a room which was great! The room was also according to what I requested with 'city' view on a not a too high floor (3rd). However the room was looking towards some back side with close windows of another building.

Great property. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We never had our room made up as we were late rising every day and that didn’t seem to be a problem. we did request at reception for clean towels and toilet paper and it was in the room when we got back from our walk. Great location and easy walking distance into the old town, around 5 minutes. Shame the whole town centre is currently dug up and we didn’t see the old town in all its glory but it didn’t stop us enjoying ourselves. We will definitely be back to Poznań and this great hotel.

We went to the restaurant for a meal and we sat for around 15 minutes in an empty restaurant with no staff present. In the end we left and went somewhere else to eat. That was the only niggle we had. Wouldn’t put us off staying again.

Location is excellent - right on wide street with limited car traffic but many restaurants and cafes. Despite construction work done everywhere around the part next to hotel is already renovated. My room had view over rooftops of all buildings nearby. Room is clean and modern. There was even iron and ironing board already in room. There is luggage storage available.

Elevators are slow, and two existing elevators have separate control panels. In the shower water flow is controlled by 2 knobs for hot and cold water and it is difficult to set temperature right.

The hotel is perfectly located in the center of the city without all the touristic buzz of the main square. You sleep in a well designed, modern, clean and quiet room with a beautiful view. The personal is lovely and ready to help you. The fitness center is quite small (only a few machines) but was well enough for me to do sport first things in the morning (it is also open 24/7 which is a great plus).

Nothing, I really appreciated my stay.

Modern, clean, comfortable hotel in a perfect location. Friendly and helpful staff. Room had everything we needed with strong, free WiFi. Great view of the city (7th Floor). Very close to Plac Wolnosci (Christmas Market) and Stary Rynek (Old Town Square) and many restaurants, coffee shops and museums.

Worth mentioning that Poznan, including the Old Town Square, is currently undergoing major renovation work which means for at least another year, it definitely does not look its best. Even so, Poznan is a city well worth visiting.

It was basically in the centre, close to everything!! The receptionists were all very kind. Our room had a beautiful view and it was very well cleaned, as well as the whole hotel. The bed was comfortable. There’s a small gym you can use for free.

It’s not possible to connect the TV to internet so we couldn’t watch anything during our stay bc there’s no subtitles either. Also you can’t open windows to let some fresh air in

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a generous buffet with plenty of variety. The bedroom was comfortable and well-equipped. It was nice to have a kettle with coffee/tea supplied. The price of a room was very reasonable given the location of the hotel.

It would have been nice if an extra English language channel or two could have been provided on the TV. The carpets in my room and in the passageway looked as if they could do with a clean.

The room was extremely quiet (maybe because I was on the 10th floor). The room as well as the bathroom were modern and well equipped. Reasonable tea/coffee making facilities. The breakfast was very good! Only a few minutes walk from the centre.

Despite a sign warning of a zl 500 fine, my room stunk of cigarettes. The room was not made up during my stay which whilst annoying in itself, meant that I ran out of tea bags although I was able to source some more from reception. The lifts were a bit weird and not really adequate for the size of the hotel.

Location was great, short walk to the main square but very quiet (we were on the 9th floor). The room was good sized, bed suuuuper comfy, bathroom well maintained and good size. We parked on the dedicated parking lot which was 50pln per day and right behind the hotel - felt pretty safe but would feel safer with some kind of surveillance though.

I didn't like the carpets, they were quite bright so you could see every stain which made me feel I should only walk around in slippers - parquet would make much more sense for maintenance. The water temperature was a bit unstable. That said, we loved our stay!
