Hotel Palau de Bellavista Girona by URH

The view is the best part. It has a great view of the town and distant mountains/hills. We were told by the taxi driver we would need a taxi to get back into the town but actually it wasn't that far and its an interesting walk, however, it does feel a little cut off. The outside seating area is great with small pool. The inside feels modern and light, bright. The breakfast was very good and the dining area comfortable and again light and pleasant. All felt very contemporary and well considered. Lovely foyer.

It was a shame we couldn't get anything to eat except nuts and olives on arrival after getting in from a long flight/taxi ride. However, we did get to have a beer on the balcony area which is lovely. The pool is much smaller than I would have expected - just for cooling off not for swimming.

This is the second time with stay in Palau de Bellavista. And would always return if in Girona. The personnel (reception, restaurant, bar, room) is very pleasant, courteous and attentive to the guests' wishes. The rooms are very spacious, comfortable and clean. The air conditioning is very efficient. The hotel is located above the city (but walking distance - even if a bit hilly) allowing splendid views from the huge deck. Plenty of free parking space (internal and external). The breakfast served is varied and complete.

In view of the bathroom configuration, the rooms would benefit from a night light in the bathroom to avoid waking up the second person sleeping.

Spacious room, comfortable bed, clean room. The staff were amicable and responsive to queries. I had a long stay, which was generally comfortable.

Not enough light in the room for working in the evening. Room needs a light bulb or an additional lamp beacuse other lamps are dim. Parts of the room and bathroom need maintenance, which impact on the impression of the stay (eg cracked tiling, scratched desk). They are not big things but you can tell that maintenance is keep at a minimum. Sound proofing is mainly on the windows. You can hear other people through the walls. Some towels were worn out. Not enough hangers.

I loved the view ofc, Bellavista says it all. The room and the bathroom spacios both, well equipped. We got bottles of water both morning. In the bathroom you even had body lotion and a toothbrush. Breakfast was great, delicious fresh spanish food. All types of coffee and tea, chocomilk. It was close to the main attractions. Me and my boyfriend only walked through Girona. It s quite a hike up to the hotel but it is worth it. Staff at the reception very kind and polite. Good prices at the bar. Minimarket open nonstop. A short pleasant stay!

The pool was kind of cold, couldn t really enter in it. In the first morning for breakfast the personel/staff were a bit in a rush. Ham, cheese, cakes were almost empty when we arrived, no more water in the mug even tho it was 10. The schedule was 10-10:30. Next morning nicer girls and everything was fine.

I like that they have provided beautiful decoration in our room for our honeymoon and I really appreciate the effort that the staff has provided in ensuring that we had a great stay. I also love the overview of the Girona skyline at the top of the of the hotel. Luckily we have our own private transportation otherwise we will have to climb up the slope to the building every time we head down. Free parking is also lovely. Overall a recommended stay.

It will be exceptional if the room can provide a pantry for basic item such as hot water kettle for coffee and/or tea. Having said that, they do have a self serving mini mart concept at the lobby and a huge lounge to dine in.

I love the elevated position of this hotel, with a fantastic view from the communal facilities over the town. The breakfast is particularly good, with a wide variety of items on the buffet. The view from the breakfast room is a great start to the day. The terrace, pool and bar all have that same airy feel. The rooms are silent!

There was a longer wait to check in than I expected but this wasn't significant. Whilst the feature wall between the bedroom and bathroom is interesting, the way it lights up when using the bathroom at night is disturbing for the other person in the room. The ill-fitting door to the bathroom needed some maintenance.

The room was clean and spacious with an extremely comfortable bed. It had great blackout curtains so the room was very dark. The hotel is modern with a wonderful terrace incorporating a large and chilled bar area, plunge pool with sun loungers and spectacular views. Above all I would like to thank Juan and his co- worker that evening. Following an accident as we were walking to the Old Town for the evening we ended up in accident and emergency. Returning to the hotel after midnight with a broken ankle, and in a cast, the care and concern shown by Juan an his colleague was exceptional. The aid they gave us helped us immensely during a traumatic evening and night .

Extremely clean and well presented.

The room lacked warmth - was not inviting at all - almost felt sterile! Other than 2 small bottles of water, there was nothing else to attract your attention! No compendium that included menus from the hotel’s own restaurant, no listing of the channels on the TV and, perhaps more importantly, no details of local highlights and attractions that a guest could read up on! Worse still… you had to go back to reception to get the WIFI code!!!

The staff are really very professional, very kind, supportive and willing to help. The room and facilities are very clean, the bed comfortable and the hotel is close to the city centre. Delicious breakfast with choice and variety.

We had an excellent stay, but we have small remarks. The pool is very small (more for little kids) and the picture on Booking is misleading. Maybe they should think about having more choices for lunch when you don't want to go out and stay at the hotel. Also, having a shuttle system to go out and go to the city centre would be great, because if you want to go on foot the road is really steep and high and with the high temperature not very comfortable.

The name of the hotel is appropriate: the view from the lobby and the deck is spectacular. From the rooms, not so much. (Hot tip: ask for a room with two beds. These rooms face the outside of the U-shaped hotel, and the beds are pushed together anyway. The rooms with double beds all look at each other across the courtyard, so there is little privacy and no view.) Other plusses: there is loads of parking, and the town is only a ten-minute walk downhill. (Note that the hotel is then uphill, which is not so great at the end of the evening.)

The hotel is a festival of questionable design choices at almost every level, from the lack of sheer curtains in the rooms that face onto other rooms, to the glass-booth bathrooms that amplify all sounds. But that said, everything works, and the staff is great.
