Petit Palace Puerta del Sol

Great location and value for money. The room was lovely and the bed was comfortable. Staff at the front desk were very helpful. It was great to be able to open the balcony door.

Can be noisy - other guests were very loud late at night in the hallway. Hopefully a one off.

Location is perfect, everything is in walking distance and a stone's throw away from the Sol metro station and absolutely no outside noise issue even though its right in the middle of such a busy area.

Size of the room. This was our 2nd stay in one of the Petit Palace hotels in Madrid, and this one has the prefect location but the room size is crazy small. And the temperature in the room was not cool enough for us during our Feb/March trips so we just opened the windows and slept so that worked for us but might now work for others especially if there is any outside noise at night from other people staying in the hotel.

Would return to this hotel in a heartbeat. Vanessa and Luis were so helpful on reception. The hotel was clean, the rooms were a decent size and the facilities were great. The hotel is on a busy street and there is currently construction going on, but you cannot hear this from the rooms at all - which we were really grateful for. A fantastic location and overall perfect hotel for anyone travelling to Madrid.

If I was to be VERY picky, the only thing I would say is that there was some noise coming from other guests outside our door, but this only lasted a few minutes on occasions. But this is very very minor and would not take away from the brilliant experience we had.

The location is great, 1 minute walk from Sol square, breakfast beyond expectation , the team on the front desk was amazing, especially, Reneta and Sonia, they were helpful, polite, professional, and nice , we enjoyed the stay very much, we will recommend on this hotel to family and friends

We ordered, king size bed on high floor, but at our arrival ( 6 am) we got a beds room, with 2 separate beds, and on the 3rd floor, but after 2 nights we got a very nice room at 5th floor with king size bed it was a disappointment on our arrival

The location was fantastic, close to restaurants. Walking distance to Plaza Major, San Miguel Market and shopping. The hotel is situated on Arenal street which has many good restaurants - tapas tapas, steak burger to name a few. We didn't use the subway but the subway station was right outside. The staff welcomed us and always greeted with a smile! We actually walked everywhere to all of Madrid's main attractions. The room was clean and the hotel was pleasantly fragranced. The hotel safe was a must for us- to secure passports and valuables. The room was cleaned only when we wanted it. Cleaners respected the signs to clean or not. The taxi dropped us about 100ft from the hotel as the hotel is located on the Puerta del Sol which is a pedestrian cobblestone walkway but was not a problem. The plaza area outside was under construction but noise from the construction work didn't affect sleep. A buffet breakfast was available @ 11.90 euros pp but we opted to try the local coffee shops nearby.

The bed consisted of 2 single beds put together to make a double bed. But it still felt like 2 small beds with 2 separate blanket/comforters. A queen size bed would have been much better for a couple. No iron in the room. You have to ask for one.

Exceptional breakfast, with options for vegans, vegetarians and gluten-free. Staff incredibly helpful. Comfy room and beds, different pillows to choose (firm or soft). Sustainable and eco-friendly products.

A small nuisance that was not very important but worth mentioning. As the hotel is in the very heart of the city (Sol), there's some noise from the street. We were on a high floor and the window had good insulation, but even so, as we were facing a narrow street, we could hear some noises, drunk people and so on.

Amazing location right next to Puerta del Sol. We visited Madrid on the first weekend of the Christmas markets so it was very busy but the rooms were extremely sound proof and it was not noisy at all. Nice breakfast with a great selection. Room was a nice size, TV worked fine and the shower was lovely. Good value for money in my opinion. I would stay here again if I visited Madrid.

Amazing location and we would stay here again if we ever make it back to Madrid. Late November is a fun time of year with xmas lights everywhere. There were some nearby protests but that was random.

It was difficult to manage the temperature and we often slept with the balcony door open to stay cool but the street is pretty noisy late night especially on the weekends. Staff was great and bi-lingual.

Location is hard to beat with this place. The service by the staff was excellent, everyone was very helpful and polite. They would even anticipate our needs and offer to keep our bags in lockers before taking the room and once we checked out. The breakfast buffet was very good with enough options to pick from.

The room was a bit weird, too big with a double bed and what looked like a Murphy bed on one of the walls. There was a lot of wasted space so it made it a little awkward, especially with a 32" TV mounted on the wall that made it look comical in such a large room. The door handle on the washroom door came off but that was fixed after our first night, so not a big deal.

A unique hotel in a great location for exploring Madrid. Right off of Puerta del Sol and the subway but not noisy. Good price for Madrid. Comfortable room with a fridge! Very nice shower. Excellent staff! Warm,friendly and helpful.

Although very quirky and unique - mixing modern with the old - the hotel (room floors) needs some care and attention. Dented walls, chipped paint, dirt. It is showing its age. The glass wall separating the bed area and the bathroom was cracked and taped together; curtains didn't open. The excellent staff however trumped all the negative.
