B&B HOTEL Madrid Centro Plaza Mayor

The views from our room were fantastic! It had a Juliet balcony that looked down on one of the entrances to Plaza Mayor. (There was even a rooftop view from the bathroom window.) We were there on Saturday and Sunday of Easter weekend. Saturday evening there was a drum procession that exited Plaza Mayor and passed right below our balcony. We had a perfect view of all the activity below. It was wonderful to be able to open the windows and let the spring breeze blow in. The bed was comfortable. It was so nice, we actually spent more time in the room than we would normally spend in a hotel room. We were pleasantly surprised by a bag of breakfast goodies hung on our door handle on Easter morning. There is also a coffee bar with fresh fruit in the basement. The staff is helpful and friendly. This was the perfect place for us at the end of an 18 day vacation.

The checkin process was a little stressful. Being (understandably) short-staffed, there was no one working in the lobby when we arrived. The checkin kiosk outside the front entrance would not scan our passports, so we could not check ourselves in. We were able to contact a staff member via intercom to another location. The intercom was difficult to hear, and kept dropping our connection. To their credit, the person on the intercom was apolegetic and very helpful. Eventually, they were able to help us complete our checkin and give us the code to open the hotel door and our room door. After that, everything was great! Don't panic if you find yourself in similar circumstances. You will get in.

Wow, incredibly impressed with this 'two star' hotel. Really quite exceptional. The staff are incredibly friendly and really make you feel welcome. The bed was very comfortable, the room was sleek and modern, the check-in process was easy and the location is unbeatable, right between Sol and the main plaza of Madrid. The cherry on top was opening my door to find a bag with complimentary croissant, donut and water in the morning - completely free. They also offer free coffee, tea and hot chocolate all day. Will absolutely be back!

The location is next to Plaza Mayor and Sol. Walking distance to many other attractions. The staff was very nice. Room was perfectly clean. They have a Coffee corner in the basement which is very cool. It's open 24 hrs and you can have coffee, water, fruits, biscuits and juices for free. We didn't book for breakfast but everyday morning they kept crossiant and some other snacks along with two water bottles at the door which is a wonderful gester.

Don't have any except to mention that if you are carrying heavy laggaues be mind that there are few steps to climb up or down after elevator depends on the floor

Great central location ..... easy walk to all major central Madrid locations Room was one of the best on our trip... well appointed and great view ( our room was corner room with 'balcony' overlooking square / entrance to Plaza Mayor) ....each morning a bag of pastries and fresh water arrived at our door... we supplemented this with Fresh fruit, juices, coffee and extra pastries from the free 24 hour 'coffee' room downstairs... breakfast in our room overlooking the square below was a delight., The staff were super, very friendly and helpful .... we were even allowed to store some luggage while we were away for a few days. Upon check in we had arrived on an early morning train.... the staff made our room available well before official check in time .... thanks

Location was excellent! Hotel was steps away from Plaza Mayor, restaurants and convenience stores. Staff were friendly and personable. Hotel provided free boxed water and pastries in a bag, which were delivered to your doorstep every morning and they have a “coffee corner” on the basement where you can drink unlimited coffee, tea and juice and grab a snack (fruit and cookies) if you like. The room is pretty spacious for 2 people. The bed and pillows were clean and comfortable. Extra towels are kept in a dust bag in the room. Aside from the hangers, they had several hooks on the walls where you can hang your jacket, bag etc.

The air conditioner in our room was leaking and we couldn’t get the room cold enough for our preference so we just opened the window (we stayed on the 5th floor). The “half-shower door” ☹️

Exceptional location, most important places where a 10 minute walk. Everything new and really clean. The reservation didn’t include breakfast but they left a little bag with water, a croissant and a bun, and the hotel has a coffee room available 24/7 which I really appreciated. The staff was lovely and very helpful. They also keep your suitcases after check-out if your flight is much later and you want to keep touring the city.

I know looking after the environment is really important, but I feel it was a little extreme. The bathroom didn’t have any hand towels and there was a bag in the room with a towel that said something like “use only if necessary, take care of the environment”. They didn’t have shower caps or any of those things hotels usually have.

We had the Junior Suite on the top floor with a fantastic view of Madrid.......for a total of 5 nights......a very comfortable, and well presented room, king size bed, tv in the loungeroom, with table and chairs and gorgeous timber beams on the ceiling of the room..... the day commenced with a lovely little breakfast each morning left on the doorhandle and the opportunity to venture down the utility room with its daily supply of fruit, biscuits, tea and coffee, if we were hungry and wanted a snack. Such a well presented establishment, lovely reception folk, thanks Gabrielle and Brenda, for your assistance. The location is close to the Plaza Mayor, a beautiful large open square full of fun and restaurants, its 15 mins walk to the Palace, Atocha Station and other tourist attractions. Supermarkets are close by with endless restaurants to choose from for tapas and drinks.

There isn't anything we didn't like about the hotel, except maybe a little more furniture in the Suite, to set up our belongings. A few less steps would have been good, but we enjoyed the exercise, and the lift to take up our luggage to the room.....

Stayed there for 3 nights and everything was perfect - especially the location! Right next to Plaza Mayor and very very close to all the other tourist places in the central. Rooms are not huge but practical. Comfortable bed and pillows. The little treats they leave at your door really brighten your day. Stuff is helpful and always smiling. The hotel also has an area downstairs where you can get free coffee & juice & cookies. Overall, perfect stay for the price range! Don't hesitate to book.

Perfect check in! The young lady and gentleman that checked us in were immaculate. Night receptionist was very kind and smiling too. We were surprised to be upgraded to a larger room. And they left little sweet treats every day on our door. The all day tea/coffee bar was also a lovely touch. Lovely space, clean room and sustainable attitude. Very convenient to go to the centre of Madrid.

Room needs a revamp and the bed needs to get steadier (maybe replace with one without wheels).

This is our second stay and we will continue to stay there whenever we are in Madrid. Helpful and absolutely lovely reception staff. Brenda, Victoria and Melanie are gems and so friendly and accommodating. As usual we decided to stay an extra day! We would stay longer but Madrid is very hot around the time we usually travel. The location is amazing, the hotel is comfortable and nothing is too much. I would wholeheartedly recommend it if you want to see the sights and want nice, clean and professional staff. Little remark and that’s nothing to do with the people. The after hours checking is a bit of hard task and I did tell the reception. I would have a different system all together.
