Hotel Colon Rambla

Very friendly staff, very good restaurant and bar, very good breakfast in the morning. Reasonable rates on food and drink. Beds are comfortable, big, and warm, and it was nice the standard double room even has a spacious enough balcony to sit and relax. Bathroom and shower are also spacious. Pool area is small, but quiet, so it's a good place to relax away.

The one complaint is that the TV doesn't function well most of the time. Lots of stuttering and signal issues. I wouldn't count it against the hotel, because I spent so much time outside. It's also a bit of a walk to the city center (10-15 minutes, give or take), but I guess it's nice to be far away during Carnaval. None of this feels major enough to dock the hotel.

Overall, this is a good hotel in Santa Cruz. The staff was friendly in all communication. Location is good, as the hotel stands just above the town center with a very beautiful botanical garden next door. There are few international tourists and the whole area is inhabited by islanders. For example, there is a school next to the hotel and from there you can hear happy children playing. The rooms are quite spacious with everything one needs. The pool garden is cozy and the pool is 15 m x 7 m in size. The hotel's restaurant is simple but good and can be highly recommended.

The hotel is located on a busy street (RAMBLA). It does not affect the privacy inside the rooms, but it does disturb the relaxation by the pool.

The location was fabulous, and the pool area was very nice, a welcome relief to find naturally shaded areas and actual seats rather than just sunbeds, and the provision of towels for the pool was a very welcome addition. Check in was fast and no problems even though we arrived a little early everything was ready for us. Overall a fantastic base to explore the city, close to the bus links and the beautiful Garcia Sanabria Park

We were looking forward to having a drink in the cafe but there was rarely any staff around when we went to use it. There were customers in there at various times but it seems we just missed out on our opportunities. The water feature is beautiful however our room was just above it and so in the mornings the air was full of mosquitos outside the window and i was bitten a few times - not the fault of the hotel of course, just a shame our window was directly above the water feature

We were upgraded to a pool facing room once we arrived. The room itself was really big with lounge and separate bedroom. Staff were super friendly. They had a good size pool and a nice restaurant/bar with good prized food. Everything was super clean. They disinfected loungers after every use and wore masks at all times. Check out was at 12.

At least 1 bottle of water could have been free, especially if you arrive late at night and can't get it anywhere else.

The green surroundings; location

Paper slippers, total waste of time; we would have liked a balcony and were unable to pay for upgrade as no rooms available. We were advised that we should have requested a room with a balcony at time of booking … this was not made clear until we had checked in 😟

The stuff were super nice and helpful. We had a half board and for the dinner we choze one starter and one main dish from the menu. The dessert was also included and it varied, sometimes piece of cake was available, sometimes only icecream or jogurt (but it was great as well). All the food we tried was so delicious! For the breakfast there was everything you need. Cleaning was great, the room, lobby, restaurant were always cleaned. The beds was super comfortable. The hotel is in great location, few minutes to the city center and when you want to leave the city by car, it's also great. Definitely a great hotel to stay in Santa Cruz!

The parking near the hotel wasn't easy, we were looking for a place to park sometimes for quite a long time. There is a underground parking in the hotel, but there are only few lots and it costs 15 € for a night. The hotel is next to busy street so you can hear cars when you are sitting next to the pool, but it was ok, it's simply a hotel in a town :) The main dishes in the restaurant could include some chicken (there was pork, beef, fishes and sea food).

Rooms are starting to be a bit old ~ frequent scratches/marks; was not a problem to me and the windows were well soundproofed but some rooms face a neighboring house with loud parrots and also a sports courtyard ~ just FYI

Great location next to the Ramblas and the park. Our room has been refurbished and was very modern with good facilities and a nice balcony. Nice pool.

This is an exceptional hotel. Perfect location for exploring the city by foot, a short walk to the bars, shops, and restaurants in the area surrounding The Plaza Espania. The beautiful Parque Garcia Sanabria is practically next door. The swimming pool must be the best hotel pool in the city. It is great for cooling off after a day of sightseeing. The reception, housekeeping, and catering teams are lovely and friendly and can’t do enough to help. We were in the standard room, spacious, with double glazing that can be opened for a nice breeze. Can’t recommend this hotel highly enough.

Very close to the centre, the main avenue just around the corner. Walking distance to the very centre of town and 2 minutes to the park. Although close to the main street (and Santa Cruz traffic is very heavy), the noise was not an issue. Reception staff very helpful. Room very spacious and huge comfy bed. The bathroom was very ample and the shower had good pressure. Didn't have time to enjoy the spa treatments as we spent a short time in town, maybe next time. Also a bit too cold to use the pool, but it looked very inviting. The famous parrot next door was not a problem, I only heard it cursing once!!! All in all, pleasant place to stay in Santa Cruz, in the heart of town.
