Hotel Central Continental

Staff, location and price. If you are going to spend most of your time outside (which I think you will) then this hotel is a good option because it located in the heart of Interlaken.

Location of the hotel is great. We got the corner room with balcony which had great view of the lake. Room size was pretty good and it was clean. Train station is few minutes walk away and there arequite a few Halal food options nearby which was important for us.

Wifi was not good and didnt work most of the times. Hotel is very old and it can be seen in everything. No toiletries in washroom was another negative. Staff generally seemed uninterested in guest stay / experiences and accordingly not very high customer service. But maybe this is the norm in Switzerland / Europe.

Everything! The location is just perfect, a literal 2 minute walk to the train and it is not loud here. The views are stunning, we had the most amazing room with River and Mountain View’s. The room is very large as well, with a lovely balcony with table and chairs which we used often! So many tourists would stop outside to take pics of the hotel because that’s how beautiful and picturesque it is. The breakfast was lovely, and the staff were always on point with refilling items. Overall my best hotel in Switzerland so far, real value for money. I could not believe we could get such a stunning property for the price we paid, we felt like royalty. And aircon would be great for summer because I did not realize how hot it is during your heat wave! And maybe some non pork options for breakfast

Breakfast was really good. Dining room ambiance was very nice especially sitting out in the terrace in the morning and having breakfast. Location of the hotel was excellent. Right on the river and close to the train station and the boat station. Walking distance to the shopping area and other attractions. The room was nice with the balcony overlooking the river.

The bath towels were like sandpaper. It looked like rags that you use to wipe floors to clean-up. I was very uncomfortable using these towels. Hotel Central Continental desperately needs to invest in new bath towels. Also, the bath products (shampoo, conditioner, soap, etc.) provided in little packets looked so cheap and it was very hard to open. Did not use any of the Hotel's products. The front desk receptionist was not very friendly and helpful. Looked like she was more concerned and focused on paperwork then trying to make guests feel more comfortable. If you ask her any question, the answer was very short and quick. I felt uncomfortable like I was intruding her and not welcomed.

Room 501 has the best view of Interlaken West! It has a door that leads to a rooftop. You can drink a cup of tea, marvel at the view, watch people paragliding and just relax. The beds were comfy. There is a fan in the room for warm nights. The location is very close to the train station Interlaken West. There were good selection of food for breakfast. There was also hot water dispenser at the lobby, handy if you wanted to make yourself a hot drink. There is a supermarket close by. There is a pub at the hotel where you can have your dinner. Will definitely come back to this hotel, hopefully in the same room.

Room 308 faces east looking over the canals and towards Harder Kulm peak. It is spacious and comfortable with balcony seats. The hotel is full of decor, objects and paintings from the past. Staff are very helpful and courteous. The breakfast buffet is delicious and sumptuous and the breakfast servers were excellent.

As there is no food or drinks service after breakfast, guests need access to self serve coffee & tea, if not in the room, at least in the foyer. Also, as there is no drinks service, guests need an ice maker in the foyer to add to our own drinks.

We switched to this hotel after a disappointing stay at another place the night before - Hotel Center really was great. They are very pet friendly (reception dog welcomed ours too), the room was spacious, bed was comfortable, breakfast was very extensive with an egg making station, baked goods, sliced meats and cheeses, coffee, cereal, fruit... It was a great central location, a couple minutes' walk to the train station. The location surrounded by mountains, river cutting right outside with the sunrise, the architecture of the building inside and out - it was all so picturesque!

Why was there no juice at breakfast? So many other beverages haha, but no juice. The WiFi was a bit spotty - there were so many repeaters throughout the building, but reconnecting was a bit of a pain.

Room was nice and spacious. Big balcony with an amazing view of the mountains and river. Hotel is in perfect location and perfect view. Interlaken Ost train station is just a minute aways from hotel. The girl on checkin was very friendly and kind. Hotel also provided the bus pass within Interlaken throughout the stay.

No air-conditioning in the room, have to keep the window open which is quite noisy coz of the trains. Breakfast has huge variety of sweet items but not much option of normal food. Shower was broken and water goes outside the bathtub.

This hotel has a beautiful historical atmosphere in the lobby area. Nice sized rooms, good breakfasts, and a perfect location. Sitting on the River Aare adjacent to the lovely more medieval town of Unterseen, but with easy walking to the promenade in Interlaken. Nice restaurants close by, along with wonderful backerei/konditoreis (tea and pastry shops) in Unterseen.

Due to a heat wave, air conditioning would have been welcome. But the rooms were equipped with fans, which helped. We understand that this type of hotel is not conducive to modern air conditioning.

The location was perfect, a five minute walk from the train station and right on the river. Our room was lovely, full of natural light, with a balcony, and lots of space. Breakfast was pretty good and the staff were incredibly friendly and lovely.

The heating was up high with no way to modify it which was slightly frustrating and made the room stuffy. The hotel itself, especially the hallways and common areas, was musty and stuffy and felt like it hadn’t had a bout of fresh air in a long time. There was a bit of a smell. However we were able to air out our room by opening the balcony doors and windows.
