Hotel Merkur - West Station

Breakfast with amazing view Location was excellent, at city center of Interlaken, right opposite of train station. everything at the tip of your finger. room was really nice. spacious, full of light. nice view of the mountain. The staff was super friendly and helpful. they also give out tickets to ride buses for free. We had our car with us so we did not have to use them. If you don't have a car with you this is an amazing offer since they give it to you for free. If you are travelling with your own car, the hotel has dedicated parking spot which you can pay for. We parked in the hotel parking spot and it was super convenient. You can easily get to anyplace from this hotel (restaurants, supershop, shoppoing, meeting spot for day tours). finally a big shout out to the girl at the reception (don't know her name) and the lady at the breakfast. Both were really nice and helpful. a big thanks :)

I loved every single thing. nothing to complain about.

The property was perfect for us in terms of being close to the west station as we had huge back packs. The staff were lovely and we were able to store luggage where needed. Breakfast though simple was just right for us and we were able to eat outside on a roof terrace with brilliant views of the mountains. No issues with our stay and great value for money if not looking for something too flashy

Most of our activities were from Interlaken ost Station/general area which was quite a walk but we knew this before booking. We did one day get a train from west to ost because we had luggage but the walk is approx 20 mins

Location: I’d give 10/10 points for its location, right across the road from Interlaken West train/bus station. It was very easy to commute to and from the hotel at any time during the day. Guest card: The hotel gives you the guest card which is valid for the public transports in Interlaken region, as far to Iseltwald, Beatenberg, Wilderswil…etc. Very handy and economical Breakfast: They provided a good breakfast with decent number of varieties and the view from breakfast dining hall is just amazing. There are also many choices to eat out around the hotel, as it’s right in the centre of Interlaken West. Extra bed: This is an economical option for 3 people with an extra bed(not a mattress but the foldable single bed), paying 40CHF extra! Although the room becomes very tightly packed with the extra bed but considering the amount paid it’s fine! Facilities: The hotel gives you a table fan to keep you cool from the heat during summers!

The bathroom is way too small! The standing shower is pretty difficult to take shower in, but it was all clean and neat! Air conditioning would be nicer as at nights it’s very hot even with the fan, can’t keep the windows open as there’s train and bus noises till late night and early hours!

The hotel was very clean, and though simple, the bathroom and bedroom areas were both modern and in great condition. The staff at the front desk were super friendly, welcoming and helpful. Very conveniently located opposite Interlaken West and the bus station.

Switzerland accommodation is fairly pricey compared to other countries. It would have been nice if the room also had a fridge or if there was a restaurant on site. But neither of these issues would prevent me from staying there again.

Excellent location near Interlaken West station which made it easy for train connections. We only had one day stop over and found staff so welcoming and helpful in giving us ideas on places to see. With the boat dock so close we decided on a lake cruise which was wonderful on a beautiful sunny day. Our room was clean and comfortable with great views to nearby mountains. Lovely modern bathroom with spacious shower. Great to have kettle to make a cuppa. Breakfast was abundant with plenty of options 😀

We enjoyed our stay. The hotel is located directly across the road from the train/bus station and the main shopping area. The staff were extremely helpful and Marcel provided a number of sightseeing options that matched our short stay in Interlaken. They also provided a local map and free bus tickets. The room was clean with adequate space for two travelers. The bed was comfortable, with fresh linen. The bathroom was on the smallish side but the shower was good. The breakfast had plenty of options eg. eggs, cold meats, a variety of lovely bread, fruit, cereal, yogurt, cheese and more.

Located right in front of the west station. At the beginning we were greeted by very nice staff. Room was big enough and had a view to the mountains. Had kettle in the room. Good breakfast (especially cheese was delicious) and staff always smiling and willing to help. We would return for sure.

No minibar in the room. There was a noise in the bathroom, maybe from the ventilation. The price was a bit big for this type of hotel (at this price other hotels offer slippers and bathrobes)

The staff were very friendly and warm. Shared with us very useful info the moment we checked in. The location is amazing, 1 min walk from interlaken west station and bus stops. Beautiful views from rooms and rooftop where breakfasts were served. Really basked switzerland's beauty. .very thoughtful to have a microwave oven at the lobby so that we can heat up food bought from Coop.

The flight of stairs up to the lobby and walk up to rooftop for breakfast makes life a bit difficult for my elderly parents

The receptionist greeted us with smiles and chocolate! Great start to the stay. We loved the hotel as it was close to public transport and looked right up at Harder Kulm. We loved the free breakfast we were provided and the stairs were easy to walk down when we couldn't be bothered waiting for the lift!

Honestly nothing. We loved our little hotel room and we loved the staff who were really eager to speak to us and see if they could offer any suggestions of what to do in Interlaken.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good and the roof top terrace offered excellent views.

The soap in the bathroom had a terrible scent and we found it unhygienic that you have to squeeze the entire bottle to get it out. The rooms and bathrooms are on the smaller side, but the shower was big. Our room didn’t have block out curtains, so you have the sun in your face at 6am which is the reason we scored it lower.
