Value Suites Green Square

My sister and I stayed at Value Suites for one week and found it very suitable for our needs. The room is furnished simply but had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The wardrobe looks small but we were able to unpack our suitcases with 2 deep shelves each and extra coat hangers available on request. The bathroom is small but we could put our toiletries in the mirrored cabinet. The kitchen and fridge had enough space to store food. The snacks for breakfast were fine for our needs and we'd head off for the day with a muesli bar or similar snack to keep us going. The 24 hour Nespresso coffee and tea were great. We'd take a few tea bags to our room & only needed to buy fresh milk to enjoy a cuppa in the evening. The proximity to the train station, with easy access to the airport and popular destinations made getting around a breeze! I'd definitely stay here again.

Simple visual instructions to operate the Nespresso machine would help, as new guests relied on earlier arrivals to work out how to use it. Our room was clean on arrival but needed a full service, including vacuuming and cleaning the bathroom, at least once during our one- week stay. We needed to ask for more supplies, such as a clean tea towel and dish washing liquid but these were quickly supplied.

It's located 3 stations from the airport. The station itself is around 2 minutes walking distance. What's not mentioned in the description is that there is 24/7 coffee machine and a small breakfast (some snacks, croissant, apples, ...) provided between 7 and 9 am. Every room has air conditioning, small kitchenette, iron and ironing desk. Flat TV is some Chinese brand so it's OK for daily news although forget about enjoying movies on it.

Lack of ventilation, humidity and mold. The whole hotel lacks proper central ventilation system, what causes it to have a very humid air inside. It's so humid that no clothe dries inside and in many places mold grows and rooms stinks like mustiness. Definitely bad choice for people with asthma, allergies, etc.

Without exception, the staff were amazing; helpful, friendly and efficient. The location is great; one minute from Green Square Station, which has frequent trains to Central Station, Circular Quay and the airport. Five minutes walk to a supermarket. The room was spotless. They provided a hotplate and pans when I asked for them,..

Unfortunately, the 'balcony ' looks onto the main road, and a vehicle yard and building site - but at least I could get fresh air into the room! A comfortable (arm)chair would be a nice addition.

This the second time I stayed here. Location is excellent, good restaurants and cafes with in an easy walk, >1km. We really enjoyed 'the coffee roasters' Cafe, fantastic coffee There are a lot of shopping and local facilities a 3+km walk but we didn't know about or take the time to discover from the hotel. I would recommend exploring or checking online before getting there so these could be better utilised The train station and it's ability to access Sydney is fantastic, Green Square is just two stops from the airport and one stop from Central Station.

The rooms alude to being able to self- cater but there are no cooking knives or things to really use the microwave to cook, but you can reheat.

- great location near Green Square subway station: you can easily get to airport and city center (5-10 min to airport; 20-22 min to center; 35 min to CooGee beach) + its very lovely and quiet neighborhood, where some coffee shops and restaurants located - friendly staff, who was ready to help anytime - lounge zone with coffee, tea and hot chocolate, which is available till 10pm

- bathroom is very small - small thing but one day the cleaning was not done (cleaning lady came but we were in the room; although we asked to come back in one hour, it would have been around 4 pm - she didn’t)

I like the location of this hotel. It’s so centre yet not too noisy or crowded. It’s just a stone thrown away distance from Green square train station where it’s just few stop away from Sydney CBD. There has lots of nice cafe too near the green square library. Green square library it’s just near by as well which is a place you should visit too. Staff are friendly all the check in and out process very quickly.

Probably can vacuum the floor. Cause we stay there for 3 nights we can see lots of sand/ hair/ dirts still on the floor

The hotel is located between the airport and the heart of the city. The immediate neighborhood is industrial, but one block away it is being transformed into a fashionable high rise residential neighborhood. The train station is 200 meters away from the hotel and will get you to the airport or Circular Quay in a few minutes. Two blocks from the hotel are restaurants and a supermarket. The hotel breakfast room is open 24 hours a day for coffee or tea, the Nescafe machines work well. Our room had a kitchenette which was appreciated. Our room and floor appeared to have been recently renovated. The bathroom was modern with a monsoon shower head that had ample water pressure. Comfortable beds.

The room didn't have a couch or anyplace to comfortably lounge besides the beds.

The hotel is very close to the Green Square railway station about 3 minutes walking and it’s location is convenient to have a city walk to the University of Sydney. Also, there are many different types restaurants around the hotel. The staff is very helpful and polite to the guests. If I go to Sydney in the next vacation, maybe I’ll choose it again.

The cleaning is not very satisfying.

The room is as shown in the photos on the website. The room is clean and comfortable. The breakfast snacks and lounge is convenient.

There was a slight stale smell

Location was handy for my needs with train station very close by and just two stops from the airport, I enjoyed the free coffee station in the communal kitchen available to guests. Room was ideal for the duration of my stay, check in was easy and a room was available at 11am so that was a bonus. Bed was comfortable.

Pillows were not to my liking but not a major issue, I could hear road traffic at night through the window on level 1 before bed so if you're a light sleeper this could be an issue. Air conditioning only went up to 28 degrees but I found the setting to be "cool" only so the room at night felt slightly cold, I made use of the extra blanket from the wardrobe.
