A&O Graz Hauptbahnhof

I really liked this place. My expectations weren't too high, so I was pleasantly surprised. The space was roomy and quiet. The staff and the atmosphere was very friendly. The breakfast buffet, fresh and with quite a broad selection. The place felt more like a simple hotel, than a hostel. Very clean bathrooms. Felt safe. I would come back for a another stay. The location is ideal, right next to the main train station.

The walls in my room were dirty. The TV was the smallest TV I've ever seen. Maybe better to not put in a TV at all? The plastic sheets underneath the bed clothes... I'll never get used to that. Tiny desk and a very uncomfortable chair.

I liked almost everything about this place! The place is very modern starting with the dorms, the bathrooms, the kitchen, the lobby, washing machines. There are a lot of facilities and it’s pretty cool. there is a bar and you can buy some snacks there. The dorm was nice, I stayed at 8 people's dorm and there was only 1 toilet and 1 shower but since we were only 2/3 it was fine! . There are bank bads and also single bads. In each room there are a few tables and chairs so you can hang out, I guess it’s good if you have some people your age to talk with The location is amazing! two minutes from the main station and you can easily reach some hikes and nature around.

There are no lockers which can be a bit of a problem since I didn’t have where to put my belongings when I wasn’t there. since it’s not social it can feel a bit lonely. The room is very dark, theres no much light source and since it start getting dark around 4PM (winter time) it can be a bit sucks

The breakfast was very nice for the price we paid. Generally the hotel is good also the position is good if you are with car. Tram station is very ner.

Bed quality, you cant have a good quality sleeping. There is no wordrope in room if you are thinking to stay for long time it is not possible :) The cleaning wasn't bad but the bed is 2 single matress which they are using like a double. When we were sleeping we fall down at the middle this is very unconfortable and the pillow is not good, the foam inside the pillow is already died. I was waiting better quality for sleeping becouse it is most neccesary thing for everybody.

I really liked that, there was a nice guest kitchen and the laundry room. The room where I was staying was nice and very spacious. The staff was smiling and helpful. For me as a hiker, who needed to stay one night before continuing on the trek, this was nice accommodation and I appreciated that the price was quite low compared to other options.

I was a bit concerned with electric sockets in the bathroom with hardly corroded metal contacts and also USB sockets were broken on a few beds in room 221. I think that for safety reasons this should be looked on and repaired soon. Also there were black spots in corners in the shower. I don't know if it was mold, or something else. Otherwise everything was quite nice.

We enjoyed our stay overall. Staff communication is not top-notch, but we could get around the place, nevertheless. Breakfast was OK, location is good.

When we arrived we were told that breakfast would be in the basement, but it turned out in the morning that it was in the lobby with much less food to choose from than usual (we know because we could compare it with the breakfast the next day when it was indeed in the basement and the food was twice as much). But that is just nitpicking, of course, our experience was seamless apart from that.

It's nice that they give us bedsheets for free now!

Room was very hot!

Location is good. Rooms are clean and beds comfortable. There isn't air conditioning but you can get a good fan from the reception if you ask for one. Parking isn't free in the parking lot but there is a place to park for free across the street if you are lucky to get one. Staff are very helpful.

The pillows are so bad, they need to be replaced. (they are loosely filled and you cannot sleep on them. Also my booking was not instant and staff did not know I had booked until the day we arrived so they had not prepared the right room but we're very apologetic. (this is a tech issue not a human issue)

I needed a place to stay in Graz in normal price as I needed just for one night and this how I found this place. Due that I arrived earlier than the check in, I contacted with the hotel staff if I can come earlier and just leave my luggage and come back later for the check in. THere was no issue with that from their side which is nice. The hotel is closed to the train station, but be aware ot the city center is a long walk. I arrive later for the check in, at the same time as a group from Turkey. The receptionist (Ksenia if I am not mistaked) was trying to help the group and apologizing me for the delay, which I told her to not worry and take her time. Once the check in was done, I got ot my room. The room was really nice and big. Also clean. The beds were comfortable and the sleep was good.

One of the issue that I got in the rooms, was that the power contacts in the double beds weren't working at all. As I found, the cable which should be connected was missing. But I was able ot charge my devices thanks to the power charge from the TV. Also the common kitchen, wasn't clean and it wasn't appealing.

Fantastic location for those coming from the train station - maybe 250 yards? Very, very nice - and helpful - staff, very close to a really great supermarket that could provide for all my food and drink needs.

Graz is a little boring in some ways: there is nothing wrong with it, it's just not quite a major tourist attraction. Maybe if I had a couple or three more nights, I could have found more to attract my attention; the city was good, just not fantastic.

Ideal location for interrail traveler, cause the station is next of the conner. It was clean, big room. I’ve got a single bed in dorm, so was happy about that!

It should be a clear communication about bed linen not included in to the price. for me it’s ok to pay aditionally, but usually hostels took this amount money together with whole price. And of course in my room was several people sleeping without bed linen and of course without sleeping bag 😳
