Hotel Des Roses

Location was good it was near the conference I had to attend and not too far from the city centre by train. The last day my checkout was at 12PM and my flight only that night at 9h30PM. Koustoutinoj, one of the staff members at reception, was very kind to give me a room to shower before my flight. This was exceeding my expectations and I am very thankful for this guesture. I will reccommend Des Roses Hotel to anyone.

Really great hotel, has a perfect location right in the centre of Kifissia which is a very short distance from the train and buses that can get you down to Athens. I was a bit worried that being right above the bustling shopping/bar/dining area would be noisy but the double glazing easily shut any noise out. Few words on the area - 2 outdoor cinemas (in summer), variety of dining (souvlaki joints, Japanese, bakery, cafes, Mexican, Italian, burgers, many many options), a vast array of bars, it is an affluent area so prices may be more expensive than central Athens but worth it. The hotel staff was superb, with front door entry open 24 hours (not always guaranteed in practice in some places I've been in Athens) - everyone I met at the desk was super nice and also spoke English very well. Cleaning staff also lovely and would always go out of their way to help me when I missed breakfast due to sleeping so well. I was really surprised that they came to clean the room every day as opposed to every other day. The room had a fridge, bottle of water when I arrived, kettle, tea/coffee supplies, hairdryer, A/C (phew!), safe, balcony, wifi, TV, ethernet cable, shower/sink push-soap. Oh and the breakfast was perfect for me. Croissants, fruit, olives, omelette, cereals, breads, coffee/tea, I can't remember everything as I don't eat breakfast usually. Lovely wee balcony over a quiet road if you don't want to sit inside while having breakfast. Thanks to all the staff there, and also for being quick and informative prior to my stay as I had a few questions for them before arriving.

There really wasn't much I didn't like. I think my only gripe was the comical size of the key holder! A regular metal key for the door which was attached to a large plastic fob that also had a half sized credit card attached which is to be inserted into the power switch. Difficult to miss, but also difficult if you want to travel light :D - my suggestion would be to just have credit card shaped fobs chained to the physical key as the credit card could easily have the room number printed on it. Oh yes, the shower head was a bit wobbly, but aren't we all a bit wobbly anyway.

To begin with, this is the only hotel in the very center of the area. For a 2* hotel it is very clean, excellent staff. The breakfast is a little limited and repetitious, but quite adequate, especially considering the hotel level. I am not staying often at 3-stars hotels, I wouldn't hesitate to stay at Hotel Des Roses again

The breakfast could've had more variety, but it was not bad.

Breakfast was nicely presented and offered nutritious choices. I would have liked a hot milk facility for the morning coffee. Loved the brown bread for toasting. The marmalade was the best I ever tasted. The service was very friendly.

The hand-hold shower facility doesn't work for me; getting the shower head fixed into the overhead slot took some doing.

Location is very good close to many restaurants and cafes and shopping, too. Personel is very polite and friendly.

Breakfast has low variety.

The location is wonderful, on a quiet side street just off the main high street. Breakfast was generous and enjoyable. Bed was very comfortable. Shower and towels were very good.

The only comment is a better bed side light for reading would be useful.

I enjoyed the breakfast. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and warm and the shower was hot. The lady who cleaned my room went the extra mile to put things out neatly for me. The staff were pleasant and helpful.

Nothing the hotel was just right for what I needed.

Breakfast was perfect. Staff was super friendly and accommodating. Location was amazing.

No shampoo, conditioner. There was a shampoo /body wash in the shower which was the same soap in the hand soap dispenser by the sink. The walls were paper thin.

Excellent location. Safe area, quiet and clean. The bed was comfortable and the room warm. It has a small refrigerator and an espresso machine. Very happy with my choice.

Quiet location, although with plenty of facilities nearby (shops, restaurant, metro).

I would have prefered a breakfast with Greek specialities instead of a std "continental"-like breakfast.
