The Residency, Chennai

Good location. Excellent duty and F&B managers. Reasonably good breakfast. Good room service. Good house keeping.

I was met by a rather unfriendly front desk staff during check in who was indifferent to her own colleagues and could not present a pleasant front to the customers

The staff were warm, friendly and helpful. The site has been revamped significantly since I last stayed at this hotel. The bed was comfortable. The men who cleaned the room were extremely pleasant and very efficient.

The spread for breakfast has been reduced significantly compared to my last visit; one had to wait a while to be seated for breakfast unless you turn up at 7 am! Staff were much less attentive when the breakfast area was full which is understandable. There was a significant way all the staff greeted you when you arrived at this hotel - with palm on chest. This was much less prevalent this time around - to me this was kind of sad…..

The hospitality of this hotel and the people working here are really nice. They have a nice team put together. They take care of the room and other service very nicely. They also organize good breakfast for all the guests. This was my first time visiting Chennai and got to taste so many southern breakfast food items. They also have 3 good restaurants inside, out of which I visited 2 during my stay i.e The right place and Chinese restaurant Chin Chin. Overall happy with the stay here and happy to recommend it to others for sure.

I wish the gym could have been better as had a 3-4 day stay

They have a great staff. Especially, the bell hop staff, the door men and the housekeeping are really good. The staff helped us to bring heavy boxes whenever I shopped for the items. I was alone by myself a few times and the staff were really kind, for example, asking whether we have eaten. The room service was quite good as well. The food is good. The breakfast buffet staff are quite attentive and makes sure we have enough food to eat. Their laundry service is very efficient as well. We get our clothes within the same day if we give in the morning or the next day morning if we give the next day.

The housekeeping team were late a few times when it came to cleaning. However, they still cleaned well. The breakfast buffet was limited and ends by 10. Other than that, there were not much of a problem.

Excellent location in the center of T. Nagar, with easy access to central Chennai. Front desk staff were very helpful and professional, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The morning breakfast buffet was changed daily, and was a great way to experience South Indian cuisine. Room appears to have been newly renovated, and I liked the touches that made it feel light and comfortable.

One of the challenges was that the hotel's a/c left the room feeling slightly damp and with a musty aroma. It certainly works well, but it was the only challenge of the property. Having windows that open would perhaps alleviate this problem.

Room was good, spacious; staff extremely courteous and helpful and the breakfast spread was awesome! We extended our stay by 1 more night because it was good.

The bed duvet/quilt was not convenient - a single one for a family of 3 doesn't work as each individual has different sleeping preferences. For the 2nd night, we requested for separate ones and it was arranged. The AC setting was strange even though we were notified about it upfront. When the keycard was taken off, AC used to default to about 20 degrees rendering the room ultracold when we returned to the room!

you should provide steam iron and table in room slipper should be provided. while booking online it does not reflect that one has to pay extra for guests if there ois more than 1 guest. Generally 2 bed or double bed room accompdate 2 person minimum without any extra charge for the second person. But at the Residency, they are charging extra for Second person which is not viable. Kindly check with policy and make changes as per needed.

no 2 person is allowed in one room at room tarriff. hotel is chargoing extra for more than 1 person

In the Breakfast area , support services need promptness and improvement

While booking, my specific requirement was for city side room, still they gave me the other side, and said that they may change once they get vacant room, Only after my insistence they provided me my desired room, Housekeeping staff particularly while attending Toilet should be more attentive in replenishing items... I faced Toilet paper role only after demand.

Plenty towels in bathroom. Excellant breakfast. Suggest for early morning check-outs to provide option to swap with a lunch or dinner on the prior day. For example, booked 4 days but checked out 4am; so give option to have lunch or dinner on the 3rd day. If not for all, maybe for those asking customers. NB: we are aware of the early morning packed sandwiches anyway. Many thanks.

Suggest to ensure tissue rolls spare in the bathroom.

Breakfast was good and served hot. Room were very clean and well kept. Towels are clean. The hotel staff especially Mr Venkat is very helpful in clearing the luggage for my family. The hotel do allow late check out with some amount for extension till 5 pm

Location is good and nearby to TNagar but there is construction on going in front of hotel making the van and tempo hard to access in as it become one way. The hotel bar can play more Tamil songs as they are located in TN.
