The Riverside Park Hotel

Rooms were very comfortable and so clean. Very up to date. Tv screen on ceiling was a great idea for the children with earphones. Bathroom was great with separate shower and bath. Balcony was great for summer evenings. Staff were so helpful with check in and checkout. Really nice and friendly. Pool was great for adults and kids.

Only thing we didn't like was that after arriving at 8 pm ( maybe it was too late on a Saturday) was told no food being served, restaurant was full and bar food had stopped. And we had to go outside the hotel for something to eat. With having kids with us was disappointing.

The setting is very pretty with a lovely walking pier right by the hotel. The room was small but the beds were very comfortable and we had a good night's sleep. The dinner was delicious and the service was good.

Our room was right by the lift, so it was a bit noisy. It also had a terrible view over the roof of the hotel. The breakfast was disappointing in that there were only carbohydrates for the continental part of the breakfast. There was no fruit, no cheese, no cold meats and no yoghurt. Therefore, all I could eat was the cooked breakfast which made the whole meal very expensive for what I got.

The food was excellent and the staff in the restaurant were extremely friendly and attentive. The rooms were spacious and clean.

We were attending a family wedding at the hotel and requested an early check but this was refused. A rather unfriendly receptionist was in no way helpful saying the best they could do was phone us when the room was available. This did not happen. There were plenty of empty rooms available but she was just too lazy to reallocate us to an available room.

For the cost of £150 per night, I would have expected breakfast to be included

The room was really nice, modern and spacious. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was nice and a lovely potion size. I ate in the Prom bar which was also lovely. The pool was a great facility to have also. A lovely location for walks along the river, a spot of shopping and a good playground.

I found the Prom bar quite expensive for food and drinks. The door on the room didn't have a chain or top lock, I was traveling with a toodler and the door would unlock once the Handel was pushed down so I had to have a chair against the door so she couldn't open it. There were also no robes to use going from the room to the pool.

Such a family friendly hotel. Breakfast was lovely and the bar was perfect for our dinner as our little one can be quite noisy, but with other families and kids around I wasn’t worried about her making too much noise. We were provided with a travel cot for our little one and it was perfect for her

Although the room was lovely, it could do with some updating. The bedside tables didn’t match each other and just some wear and tear on the bits of furniture. Our bedroom window looked over towards the the adjacent corridor so wasn’t the best view as you could see all the spikes to deter pigeons etc.. Might just need to pay extra for a better view

Myself and my partner stayed here for our 4 year anniversary, we stayed here last year for our 3 year anniversary and had to go again! It’s a fabulous hotel, we got food out of the prom bar and went for a swim in the pool after. Food was amazing. We went to the coffee hub and were served by a lovely girl called Maria with black hair! She makes the most beautiful coffee coming from a Head Barista! I also got a Nutella crepe from the coffee hub and it was so good! I have nothing bad to say about our stay! We originally booked a standard room and got upgraded to a Junior Suite! Was the loveliest get away for our anniversary! Will be back again

Well located by the river Slaney. Room OK. Breakfast buffet, good with hot food cooked to order. Option of sitting outside on terrace if weather appropriate. Dining in the bar area was more casual and family oriented. The other restaurant was slightly quieter but not adult only. (not suggesting it should be) Didnt use the spa so cant comment on that. Nice to be able to walk by the river. Car parking outside and under ground. At our last breakfast the owner was doing the rounds and talking to customer, which was a nice touch

Only 2 of 3 restaurant areas open in the evening when we were there, the third being just for breakfast. Couple of niggles in room which were sorted eventually but not as quickly as would have liked.

Honestly the staff are the nicest bunch I’ve ever came across. A lot of hotels are classed as family hotels but this place wholeheartedly lives up to that. Such a beautiful relaxed atmosphere. At dinner they made us feel so so comfortable and welcome especially Laura Byrne(my son got her name off her tag so we could say how absolutely lovely she was:-) The girls on breakfast equally as friendly- breakfast was amazing such a fantastic range to choose from and super quick from ordering. Room was beautiful with an extra room for the kids with 2 tv’s at the end of both beds which they loved:-) We really wished we had booked the extra night but we will definitely be back:-) excellent value.

I would love to say nothing because it’s so fabulous that it was only a small thing in the grand scheme of things, but the heat of the room (114) was crazy. We did have a big fan which was very much appreciated but If it had air con it would be literally be unbeatable;)

We stayed for 1 night in a room with a balcony. The room was clean and well equipped. There was a decent-sized television, free, good quality WIFI and the bed was very comfortable. There was a laptop-sized safe which is always handy. Parking was included in the price. We were really impressed by the staff and the service. It is genuinely the first time we've stayed anywhere in a long time where providing a good service to the customer seemed important to all staff. From the reception to the pool, restaurant and bar, the service was excellent. The restaurant was fully booked, but the staff showed us to a table in the bar where we had perfectly cooked, delicious food, served by friendly staff. Breakfast was a continental buffet, with orders taken for a cooked breakfast. We ordered the "full Irish" breakfast and it was again delicious, fresh-cooked, non-greasy and very well presented. We really enjoyed our stay.

Our only negative was that the balcony was too small to sit out on and the neighbours used theirs' as a smoking area. In our opinion, unless you smoke, there is no advantage in booking a balcony room.
