Talbot Hotel Wexford

This wasn't our first stay at the hotel so I knew what standard to expect. We booked a twin room but they gave us a family room which was more spacious. The staff were all friendly and professional. We arrived early and I was able to leave my luggage at reception while we waited for our room to be ready. My luggage was in the room when we finally got our key. My son was very happy that we got to have a swim at the hotel. We love visiting Wexford, we always have a great time, it's a lovely town.

It was overpriced. it's a bit of a walk from the train station if you have luggage but it was manageable. The cutlery was not clean at breakfast or at lunch. The swimming pool is old and was quite crowded while we were there.

This is 1 of the best hotels we have stayed in + we highly recommend this hotel. It is located within town + just a few mins walk from amenities. Lovely relaxing hotel with swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi + steam room. Key card was used to access lifts. Our room was situated at the front of the hotel with a great view of the harbour. Staff were very helpful + friendly. Great choice for breakfast + we had to pre book a time each day for our breakfast.

Duvet was bit too heavy + pillows were too soft. At times when windows were closed we could still hear the traffic. Perhaps recommend a mini fridge for the room...

Location was perfect as it was literally a 2 minute walk to the town with all the shops,bars and eateries you could want.Hotel was spotless,had excellent facilities and the hotel bar was very impressive,breakfast was buffet style and was delicious both mornings with hot and cold options available,added bonus was we got a room looking out over the harbour.

The only downside was that when we booked a meal in the hotel for 8pm on our first night at reception we were not told it was a set menu and the choices were extremely limited to only 3 options for mains,if had have been told at reception about this we would have ate in the hotel bar which serves food till 9.30pm and has a great menu with plenty of choices so be careful if you book a meal in the hotel restaurant.

We loved our room and the breakfast was excellent. Well thought out floor plan, staff got you your tea/coffee, toast etc. You could help yourself to the hot or cold breakfast items which very good and plentiful. Fully stocked no matter what time of the morning. We were very impressed and heard others saying the same things we were thinking. We dined in the bar two of the three nights we stayed. Very helpful staff, great barmen and great pints.

Nothing really, we thought the location was great also. Our room was stocked with everything we needed and never had to ask for anything which we really appreciated. We had to do this at some of our other overnight stays on this trip.

It was so nice it is hard to put into words tbf we all felt so at home from book in to leaving but the room we had was beyond expectations it was overlooking everything the harbor had to offer think room number was 520 it was on the "peak" as high as you can go (520 was me & hubby!!!) it really was so nice Our room wasn't ready when we arrived so we had drinks etc in bar it was so relaxing & your staff are so polite & professional but when we did go up to our room to change we were so happy we ordered room service ,not just once but twice !!!!!!!!!!! we really felt we were somewhere very special Thank you for everything & don't change Regards Eleanor & Alan Hill

Nothing really but a little bit more variety on the bar menu keep it a bit different to restaurant menu give more of a selection

I loved this hotel in general but I have to specifically thank the Chef & the waiters for how well they looked after me (I have Coeliac disease). Rory in the Bar is an exceptional waiter, he also took my dietary requirement seriously, and when serving my food would say “gluten free” (which is so important as people really don’t understand the anxiety that comes with eating out) The Chef made a real effort with my food & gave me extras (GF bread basket, Gf nachos, GF side salad etc) I was so well fed! it was the same at breakfast, great choice of food (GF fry, GF cereals, GF toast etc) the waitress Verity again had great knowledge & really looked after me. I cannot wait to come back!!! Thank you.

We arrived after nearly 10 hours travelling and were quickly and efficiently checked in. Our room was on the first floor and we found it a little stuffy. We opened the window and found the noise from air con and food smell too much and I suspect we were over the kitchen. The room itself was large and spacious and well equipped and everything worked. A very comfortable room. We ate in the Ballast Bar which was extremely good. Excellent food and service. The design of the public areas was exceptional. Would I recommend this hotel - yes most certainly though I would upgrade to a higher floor. I would certainly stay there again should I revisit the area.

Comfortable and clean. Fantastic selection at breakfast. Easy check-in and check-out. Friendly, efficient staff. Great location. Comfy bed and lovely bathroom. Lobby area is spacious and relaxed, so is ideal for a cuppa and chat with friends.

The facility to cool down the room would be great, as it was too warm for me and the window only opened a small amount for safety reasons, but I'm sure that other travellers would be delighted with such cosiness! There were youths in hoodies hanging around the car park, which made me a little nervous for both myself and my car, but all was fine in the end.

Room was very comfortable for 2 sharing with good size beds, and a good bathroom. The hotel is spacious and modern, with a fabulous bar, and some live music later on the Saturday. parking around the back of the hotel was excellent, safe and quiet for motorcycles. Very close to town centre, a few minutes walk from great bars and restaurants.

Breakfast was not included in our rate, which always begs a dilemma in the morning - buy breakfast or hit the road and eat on the way. But lots to choose from nearby so no problem at all.

Location with free car parking opposite. The restaurants and bar areas have a nice ambiance.The room looked out on the sea- bed was very comfortable

Dinner was very average in Restaurant for Vegetarians- Risotto or Pasta. Main course presentation was messy. Same complaint for breakfast- very little choice for us. Would stay again but would eat in Nori - a lovely Japanese restaurant just up the road.
