Where do I start? We loved our stay in Listowel and many of our good memories and stories from our Irish holiday stem from there and, especially, our B’n’B host. Listowel is handy for exploring Kerry and across the Shannon into Clare, and Carriglea is perfectly located within walking distance of the town and all its attractions, whilst situated in a peaceful spot. Our room was immaculate, as is the whole house: bright and spacious, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. We enjoyed our breakfasts immensely, appreciating the lovely fresh fruit salads and homemade muesli, along with the company of our fellow guests. Above all, it was our wonderful host, Aoife, who made our stay so enjoyable. It’s a cliché, but she really was a mine of information, about the town and its environs, its history and heritage, where to visit and where to eat and drink. We enjoyed the monorail and the river walk, a moment of reflection in the famine memorial graveyard, the buildings of historic interest and the museum featuring well known local writers. Each of the many bars serves up its own particular ambience and character, whether it be buzzing with conversation or live music, tasty food, a match or race on tv, but always with a friendly welcome and a good pint of Guinness. We would highly recommend Carriglea, but we have it from the horse’s mouth that you have to book well ahead, especially for the Listowel Races.

I liked everything about my stay here. It's the second time I have stayed with Aoife and I suspect that I'll be back there again at some point. The accomodation is in a good location, off the main road and quiet but close enough to walk into the centre of town. Good parking for my motorbike and a lovely warm greeting from Aoife who really is the perfect host made for a good start to my stay. The accomodation is all up to scratch, my room was perfectly fresh, tidy and clean - and the shower was very good and just what I needed after a day on the bike. Bed linen and towels are absolutely pristine, tea, coffee and biscuits are provided in the room, the WiFi is rapid and Aoife really couldnt be more obliging in terms of breakfast requierments. In terms of location it really is ideal, it's just a short walk to the centre of town and there is no shortage of bars to choose from or shops to call in. All in all it's a first class stopover.

Nothing at all. There really isnt anything that I didnt like and would be more than happy to return at a future date. Equally I have no hesitation in reccomending this as a great place to stay.

The accomodtion was easy to find and was really well located for the short walk to the town centre. Although just a few minutes walk from the town the property is set in a residential area that is quiet and just off the main road and no noise disturbance at all. My welcome was fulsome from the host and I was given a choice of spots to park my motorbike (one of those at the rear of the property), although I left my bike at the front as it was perfectly safe and secure. Breakfast was good and cooked to order and the owner (Aoife) was really helpful and gave me some advice/tips of locations to call at on my route - my room was big enough, wi-fi was excelent and all in a very good place to stay over. There are plenty of locations to get a drink/bite to eat in the twon centre.

Nothing I didnt like it was all good.

Aoife was very friendly and personable, with good advice about local places and directions. She was very available when needed. Easy pulling the car in and out, plenty of parking and great location to town. Comfortable bed, excellent facilities. Quietest nights sleep in ages, quite nice. I'll definitely stay there again.

Nothing out of place, great place to stay. Highly recommended. Loved it!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay In Carriglea. It's only 2 mins from town so very handy. Our room was spacious and bright with plenty of room for our little dog. The breakfast was extensive and delicious. Aoife herself was very welcoming and chatty and couldn't have been more helpful . We popped out to the cinema leaving our little puppy in his bed but crying and she went the extra mile sending us a text a few mins later to tell us he was settled so we could enjoy our time away. She's simply lovely and we were very grateful.

There was nothing we didn't like. We had a lovely time

Location is perfect, 5 mins to town centre. Fab host in Aoife. Clean, well equipped rooms, lovely clean towels. Fresh cooked breakfast. Bed linen was immaculate. Very quiet.

The double bed was too soft. If 1 person moved, the other moved too. I would have preferred a well done egg for brekki, but I didn't request it, so mea culpa really. But I wasn't asked either what my preference was...scrambled/poached not offered.

I can't praise Aoife enough. She is the best host you will want on your holiday. She is absolutely lovely. Everything about our two days stay was exceptional: from the clean and comfy bed with ensuite, warm croissants in the morning, lovely garden view, perfect Irish breakfast made with the freshest eggs possible to the small details that Aoife takes care of: a scented candle here, small vases with natural flowers all around the house. Her two dogs and two hens were very welcoming to our own dog also:) I simply can't recommend her enough! Listowel is a beautiful place very close to some heavenly Kerry beaches.

Aoife's B&B is the reason to stay in guesthouses rather than hotels. Right next to town. Perfect for concerts at Mike the Pies and for the races. Spotless rooms, homely and Aoife is great craic. Lovely family home so you get all the tips for everything thats happening locally too. Back soon!

All just like you would want in a family B&B.

Aoife the host was such a lovely person. Great local recommendations, very welcoming. The room was warm, clean and comfortable. There is (limited) private off-street parking. Breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice, and no problems catering for allergies. lots of style and fashion on display in the house, great talking points!

It was missing a B&B sign when we stayed there so was just a little to find ( that should be fixed soon)

On arrival, Aoife showed us two available rooms and we decided upon a gorgeous out building that was beautiful. We had a fridge and cooker. It was very well equipped. Clean towels everyday. It was so close to town with shops, bars, restaurants and supermarkets. Great location! Breakfast was fab! Aoife and Clodagh were lovely, welcoming hosts.

We liked everything! 😊
