From the moment we arrived, we knew this was going to be special. The reception was in the restaurant which owned the room a few doors away. It was a beautiful foyer, with lovely helpful staff. The room was in a town house that had stood for several hundred years, yet the room had been total renovated and overlooked the main old town street below. The rest of the townhouse appeared to be occupied by local residents. The view from the door to the apartment was spectacular. There are two or three rooms with a shared communal area, should you want to sit outside your bedroom. The accommodation is provided by the same owner who has three restaurants in very close proximity (all provide a 10% discount for dinner - we ate at DaMimmo which was superb). Fantastic location, brilliant room, and I have not even mentioned the outstanding breakfast.

Two flights of steps will not suit all The town bells toll, one hundred times, at 10pm and 7.30am…. There is no escaping then in the town. However the room, breakfast and overall impression was amazing.

The location, the room was spotless, excellent coffee making facilities., comfortable beds, great shower, lovely bed linen & towels, lovely view. fantastic breakfast.

Imagine you have friends in Bergamo and they invite you to spend e few days with them, this is the feeling we have of this locanda. Great location, in the heart of Bergamo Alta. The room we got was very nice, renovated and spotless clean. Comfortable beds, a very spacious bathroom, lots of light and great views from the window and balcony door. Yes, there is a narrow balcony with breathtaking views. There was a comfortable dayroom leading to our private room with a coffeemaker and nice furniture. Excellent Wi-Fi everywhere. The staff is amazing, we felt welcomed, smiles and warmth all around. The breakfast was great and you have lots of choices for a great meal all day long. We were offered a packed breakfast the night before our departure since we had to leave very early in the morning. The helped us arrange a ride to the airport, this was highly appreciated. In fact, they are very responsive about everything.

Check-in was very easy and the staff were helpful and accommodating. The room was fantastic, the bed was especially comfortable. Great location with lovely views in the morning when leaving the property. Breakfast was the best we had in the lovely café downstairs. Neither of us have dietary requirements so the breakfast was excellent but no questions were asked when we sat down and the food was brought to us. We had a choice of hot drinks, pineapple juice, a selections of cured meats and cheeses, home baked bread, yogurt and fruit and finally a choice of pastries. So we did think if you did have any requirements you would have to mention this when you sat down but this is not a negative as they were more than willing to help with anything.

The staff were incredibly friendly and gave us a brief history of the building as they were checking us in and showed us to our room. The building is beautiful and the rooms are stunning. The views of the mountain peaks are incredible. Food at breakfast was delicious and the DaMimmo restaurant was spectacular. Everything you could want out of a nice weekend away.

Honestly, there is nothing to report. Top marks from me.

The central location to everything in the Citta Alta was fantastic. The food in Locanda Da Mimmo was to a high standard with staff going above and beyond to help out with an early breakfast before leaving the next morning. We stayed in 'Tasso' one of their rooms and it was spotlessly clean, well appointed and was very good value.

Only two gripes really, the lock on the bathroom door needs fixing as the door didn't stay closed when occupied. And the aircon was a little under powered when faced with very warm temperatures. Not huge issues for us, and knowing they'll be addressed we would have no hesitation coming back and recommending to others.

Most of it, but not the restaurant across the office

We really did not like the fact that not professional people work in the restaurant that is owned by this guest house. We ordered a Caesar salad, and there were so many pieces of dried bread in it that there were simply no other ingredients to be seen. I complained to the waiter, saying that everything else is fine except the salad. She nodded and left, and of course we expected, as a compromise, another dish at the expense of the establishment or not to take into account the payment for this dish. This experience ruined everything in the end. I believe that needlework should adequately address this issue.

Not a criticism of the locanda but I found Bergamo Alto to be a little too touristy..maybe I should go back out of season. Also, the locanda is in one of the small roads in the old town and while you are allowed to enter the limited traffic areas to drop off suitcases, I wouldn't recommend it It's full of people milling about and the road is narrow, which makes for quite a stressful arrival. Better to park nearby and walk in with luggage if possible.

Great location in a historic building in the centre of Bergamo old town. Understandably no lift in this old building so quite a few stairs to our room on 3rd floor - not bad but not suitable for people who would struggle. Kitchen with coffee machine in a common area shared by 3 rooms. Access to 2 of these rooms was through the kitchen, ours also had a door from the outside balcony. Very comfortable bed. Room had all we needed for our short stay there. A tasty breakfast was included at the cafe downstairs. I'd also recommend the restaurant across the street owned by the same people, very nice and 10% discount for residents.

Couldn't really fault it. The building is centuries old so understandably there is no lift.

This hotel is awesome! The location, the cleanliness, the size of the room, everything was perfect! The staff is very polite, also. The central location in the heart of the medial city is extra special. The fact that you have a very good restaurant downstairs is also something to be appreciated. You can reach the hotel very easy form the airport using just public transport or you can take a taxi. The price-quality ratio was more than satisfactory, for us. Not only that we intend to book here again when back in Bergamo, but we also recommended it to our friends.

Nothing, really. Everything was great. Maybe one aspect to be mentioned is that there is no elevator, so those with reduced mobility will have access problems.
