Castel Hörtenberg

The breakfast was delicious and there were many choices. The wait staff were delightful and helpful, always pleasant. Orders were always correct. Couldn’t have been better!

Nothing. This hotel exceeded every expectation. Staff were all professional and helpful and friendly. The facilities were exceptional. Room was big,bright and well- cleaned. Front desk ladies were so nice as were the bar waiters and breakfast wait staff. Can’t say enough good things!

The GREATEST place that exceeded above and beyond our expectations! If I could, I would have never left, honestly. Great location just 5 minutes for Walther square, city center and the cable car to Suprabolzano, close to everything. The room was SUPERB. When we got there they informed us they upgraded us with no additional charge. We got a huge room, with the most comfortable bed and the newest facilities and modern design. There are also a heated pool (now during the winter) and a spa. Breakfast is delicious with a variety of breads, chesses and what not, and you can also get fresh cooked omelets from the kitchen. I WILL most definitely come back here as soon as I can. Traveling during COVID-19 requires special arrangements, and the receptionists went above and beyond to help us get the covid tests we needed to get back home. They check green passes and make sure to wear masks and keep everything totally clean. I felt very safe in that manner. We had an amazing stay, one of the greatest ever!

There isn't a single thing I didn't like about this dreamy place.

This beautiful hotel was better than anything we could have imagined. It’s very private and on a beautiful gated property steps from downtown. The staff went above and beyond with every request including helping hang balloons so my boyfriend could surprise me and having flowers brought in. The beds were so comfortable and so clean. They pay such close attention to detail here, we can not wait to go back!

the only things were it’s a little bit of a drive to places wanted to go but that’s no real issue with a car, and the Wi-Fi kicked us off every 30min. That will not keep us from staying there in the future though.

The design of the hotel was done extremely well. I learned a few things from the way it was done. No expenses spared and made in great taste. The restaurant's food quality was top. Great chef from the south. Lamb ragu was the best. Breakfast was Covid era delivered to the room, quality was very good.

We had a lovely tiny room with terrace near the pool. The spa started just next door and was amazing.

Due to family related circumstances back home we wished to leave a night earlier, but management did not wanted to give a refund, so we took the family risk and stayed but with mixed feelings. The water in the pool was very cold! (With perfect warn weather!)

Anything next to the wind measure was superior

On top of the roof the wind measure made a significant noise which causes sleep less night's

Very easy to find, close to the centre of town but far enough for total peace and quiet. Beautiful, historic building, exceptionally clean and well maintained with modern furnishings. Spacious room and bathroom with a super comfortable bed. The hotel facilities are fantastic, the pool area is very relaxing and the wellness spa is clean and feels new. Added to which, the breakfast is really high quality and overall the staff are very polite, professional and accommodating. Definitely a top 5 all-time favourite hotel experience.

Nothing could have been better.

Wow! Absolutely wonderful inside and out! I love staying at renovated, cared for properties as this. Yes, it is pricey, but worth it! The room we stayed in with our adult son was perfect. So clean, state of the art room. The breakfast provided each day in the dining area was incredible. The staff was excellent and accommodating. The staff throughout Castle Hortenberg made us feel very welcomed. I hope to be back some day.

The staff was very friendly and the food was excellent The pool was nice with great service from the young waiters ..the only down fall was the biting bugs during the day laying by the pool..but that is no one’s fault that’s nature! Overall this hotel gets a 10 out of 10

Absolutely everything was perfect - the comfort of the room, the spa area, the staff was phenomenal and complementary breakfast was top notch. Modern amenities in an old facility that has been restored to perfection . Compliments to the young woman from Slovakia working the breakfast area. She was so attentive and personable.
