Hotel Stiegl Scala

I choose this hotel because the good reviews and location but for some reason we could not make it and I forgot to cancel on time. Only one day after the Cancellation day. the hotel managment did everything they could in order to help us and find replacement for the 2 nights and 2 rooms we've ordered and updated me all the time. The dud find replacement. We really appreciate their good will and honesty to take care of our situation even though they didn't have to. Good to know there are such a good people as those. Really appreciate and we will make it next time!

Great room, with a bathtub. Excellent housekeeper. Front desk staff was exceptional and offered many excellent restaurant and nature ideas. Loved the swimming pool and sauna. Breakfast was tremendous and delicious, that staff was wonderful. Order some fried eggs. Mobilcard is a great perk. I went to see Otzi, Renon cable car, railway above cable car, trains and/or busses to Col Raiser, Trento, all free. Hotel mgr very knowledgeable about mountainous areas.. All in all, my favorite hotel in a three month journey that covered Ireland, France and Italy.

It was a little east of all the action in the old town center. Some of the lunch/dinner restaurant staff were sarcastic with me due to the language barrier.

Modern convenience inside and a wonderfully ornate old style exterior. Good neighborhood. Quiet, safe, easy walk to attractions. View of cable car from our balcony was fascinating. Garden setting for breakfast. Excellent breakfast, including gorgeous fresh fruit and tempting pastries. Staff friendly and helpful, bartender is avid cyclist and can tell you about the mountain trails.

A bit rundown inside room, battered woodwork, torn fabric on furniture and curtains. Minimally furnished , no effort to make room interesting or comfortable. Bathroom small and shower is an unsafe tangle of pipes and hoses but it was clean and lots of hot water.

The location is great. Just outside the Centro Storico so it’s nice and quiet, but still close enough to walk to the station or around the centre. Very conveniently located to the cable car and the Bolzano travel card is an amazing free perk! (I can’t believe some guests refuse it!!) Breakfast is good quality and leaves you wanting for nothing. The front of house staff are friendly and very helpful as well as multi-lingual. The on-site facilities include a small pool, sauna and gym.

Not the most comfortable bed and pillow, but certainly not the worst - it would be really hard to cater for everyone’s taste on that one though!

Location is excellent. Free parking right in front, very convenient. The breakfast was excellent, very nice personal taking your order to bring you a very nice well made Coffee, thank you! The room very nice, we chose one with balcony, the view was awesome! The bathroom very spacious with a nice shower. A well combination of retro and modern style.

The reception and its personal, so so. It's not a personal of a four star hotel and for the price they need need to improve more. The mattress need to be changed, we felt like we were sleeping in a waterbed When we complained about this, the impression was that i didn't know what I was saying , that i was wrong, a think the actitud have to improve too. Remember the Guest, is the most important thing and the priority is to make feel him like home! Thank you!

Beautiful room, comfy bed, lots of little extras provided such as bathrobe, toiletries, toothbrush, sewing kit, slippers etc. Secure car parks, one of them with direct access to the hotel via a secured door. Brilliant staff, going above and beyond. Didn't have time to enjoy the outdoor venue and the pool, but from a glimpse of it it seemed beautiful.

No luggage trolley available. I expect this in a 4-star hotel. I do not usually travel light unfortunately. This is why my overall rating is 9 and not 10. Soundproofing not ideal: while it worked well from the outside, conversations in the inside corridor were easily audible. Rather expensive: There were significantly cheaper 4-star options in town but the precise location was important for this trip. That said, it was a beautiful stay and possibly worth most of its price tag. Poorly stocked minibar, albeit fairly priced: one bottle of cola and three of water is all there was in it. (they do have a 24h bar I believe, however). I would have drunk a fair bit more had more choice been available in it.

A chic, contemporarily dressed room.. comfortable for 3 travelers with an additional sofa bed for 3rd person.. Great location for walking to Walther Plazza or the gondola up to Ritten. The room came with free parking as well as a city card to get us into a museum, bus, and local transit plus rge round trip ticket to the gondola. Great value and very nice breakfast and dining room.

The mattress on the pull out couch could have been a little softer. Add in 2 pillows for every sleeper , but that's it.

The warm outdoor pool was a real bonus after being out all day. The garden and pool area are quite pleasant to relax in. Good quality breakfast and a good location to walk into town from.

Despite being modernised, you can't hide the fact that it's an old hotel. When the heavy footed occupants of the room above moved around, there was a loud sound of metal on metal (like you get from iron patio furniture); and the water flowing from other rooms sounded like it was in the room with us.

Truly everything about this property was ideal for us. The garden and pool were a beautiful refuge in Bolzano. The breakfast was bountiful, diverse, and delicious. Everyone on staff whom we encountered was professional and pleasant. The room was spacious, clean, bright, efficient, and comfortable. And the location was convenient to so many things: trains and buses, cable car to Ritten/Renon, and to all the offerings in downtown. I hope we can go back soon!

The hotel is clean and nice. The location is perfect- extremly close to the center. The pool is lovely. The staff were kind, nice and helped us arranging our trip in Bolzano to its best. Through the Bolzano card the was given for free by the hotel we were able to visit cable cars and use buses and trains for free.

We had problems with the AC the first night, that made it a bit rough- but this got fixed the day after, thanks to the great workers.
