Hotel Canton dell'Orto

We were very pleasantly surprised with our room - get room 21 if you can, as it is by itself on the top floor and opens to a large private deck with a view overlooking the nearby basilica! Fantastic!

No breakfast in the building - you have to go to the main hotel nearby (also where you check in) for it. Plenty of places around for that, though.

The check in process in which I had to get the key 300mts from the Hotel. Considering the guests are traveling with luggage, it’s a hassle to find the key from another location.

Location was amazing. Super clean. Great value for our money

It would be nice for check in to be located in the same building

staff stressed due to management of a large group that was about to leave. Was falsely accused assumed that I was part of this group. Hotel room was off-site requiring additional transportation of luggage on foot.

Lovely spacious room and lovely and quiet. The hotel is in a beautiful street just along from the botanical gardens. It’s not at the main hotel so you don’t see any staff but you can call if you need anything. We could see the Basilica out of the window.

We arrived with an elderly couple who hadn’t made it to their destination because of the bad weather. The fact that there wasn’t reception or breakfast right there wasn’t ideal for them. My son went to collect the keys from the other hotel 5 minutes away, but the person on reception also offered to come over. Maybe a picture on the wall would have been nice :-)

Very good hotel but confusing check in. Check in desk in a whole other location and building than hotel. Would not have figured it out by ourselves.

Need more clear instructions on check in.

Reception area and room were spot clean and very comfortable. Location is fantastic, right beside the Botanic Garden and Duomo, in a quiet residential street. Room and bathroom were very spacious for a single (easily equivalent to the size of a double room in other hotels). Check-in is to be done at another hotel a few minutes walk away, hence there is no staff on site property - but there is direct phoneline if need to contact them. I did not book breakfast but assuming that it is taken at the other property if booked. There is a vending machine available in the main hallway area. Overall great stay and very comfortable facilities

Light sensor in the room was a bit temperamental and would switch on during the night so got awaken a few times.

I loved the location in a small, pretty side street right next to the botanical garden, completely quiet at night. My single room had a larger than usual single bed, was of good size, with tall ceilings and two windows. I feel nobody can complain about not knowing that you have to check in in a different location. It says so in the instructions and I received two texts to make me aware. Once I had my keys everything worked seamlessly. I very much enjoyed my stay here.

The mattress was a bit hard for my taste but that is personal preference. The shower door was broken, patched, and functional. I noticed it and didn’t care, somebody else might

very very clean and new. very quiet, until the church bells go off. very nice staff. located close to the gorgeous basilica and metro. not too far from the bussling piazzas.

Location is strategic, friendly employees, very clean facilities, quiet and fresh (A/C in the room was a huge relief). the room was large and comfortable, the bed also. For once, not a super floppy pillow in the bed (bonus points for that). I didn't have the breakfast, so I cannot say. Check in and check out super smooth and easy.

Not much to be honest. I liked being independent in terms of checking out without even having to go back to the main building. Maybe others would not appreciate the need to walk back to the main structure in order to have breakfast.
