Hotel Patavium

This hotel was a very good base for enjoying Padua. And it is a city to be really enjoyed-we have visited quite a few of the towns in this area but we thought Padua was really special. It's a bit of walk into the old town from the hotel but not too far and this is probably reflected in the reasonable price of the room. Padua has very good restaurants and a very pleasant early evening drink on the square scene. It has a real buzz during the morning and lunchtime-a wonderful market-one of the best I've ever been too. Lots of interesting buildings and the staggering Giotto Frescoes-don't miss them. Breakfast was excellent and it was warm enough to take it inn the garden. Front desk were friendly and you can walk to the hotel from the train station.

There is a takeaway opposite the hotel which was noisy one night-light sleepers might be best asking for a room not on the entrance side of the hotel. There is nobody on duty at the front desk at night.

The junior suite (room 23) was excellent. Breakfasts in the sheltered garden were a pleasure. Some interesting quirky objets in the public spaces.

The staff leave at 8 pm. No-one on duty. One of the reception staff really mucked up our late check-in when our flight was cancelled and we finally made it 11pm. She wrongly assumed that I use WhatsApp, which I’ve given up, and sent instructions to my dormant account. No amount of emails and seven attempted phone calls got any response. Certainly phones weren’t even on answerphone after 10.30 pm. Some of the breakfast ladies were grumps.

First of all, I would like to mention all the receptionists who were absolutely amazing and very helpful when I needed a safe place to store my backpack for a couple of hours - they all were very kind to help me do that. They even let me wait and kill some time (after the check-out) in the garden before my bus departure, which was over two hours. All of the receptionists speak fluent English, which is something I really appreciated. Breakfast was excellent - there was a wide variety of food ranging from sweet foods, such as croissants, cakes and sweets, to ham, cheese and other savoury foods. A kind waitress made us, guests, whatever type of coffee we wanted, such as cappuccino and other types. I also liked a lot that you could choose where to eat your breakfast - if inside, in the dining-room, or outside in a glassed conservatory, or right in the garden.

We were pleased that the hotel offered garaging for parking nearby in Padova would otherwise have been somewhere between a nightmare and impossible. On the other hand, because of the limited space, getting in and out of it was problematic. The reception staff was helpful, the room fine and a small and not very private terrace a useful bonus on a hot day. The hotel is well located for it was under 10 minutes to the Scrovegni Giottos and only a little more into the centre of town. Though there was no restaurant there proved to be an excellent one (Mario e Mercedes) a five or six minute walk away. A good breakfast.

The building is really nice, it is fully renewed in a wonderful way by having a classical style, it is beautiful. There is parking place for the car close to the hotel. The room was clear, de bed wac comfortable, and the staffs at the reception are really nice, they are smiling and helpful. I am absolutely satisfied with the hotel.

If I need to mention something, I was missing the vegetables from the breakfast, there was no vegetables at all. The orher thing, the check-out was until 11am but the cleaning ladies pushed the door open until we were in the room before we would have checked out.

The small lobby was lovely as were the ladies manning the reception desk. The breakfast was amazing and had lots of different food on offer. The freshly made cappuccino was one of the best we had on our entire trip. The breakfast room is large and leads to a smaller room which looked like it opens up when it’s warmer. It was cooler in the morning but very snug with a couple of tables & chair and we chose have our breakfast there. The room itself was a decent size and the bed comfortable. The bathroom is very nice and well laid out. Loved the shower. Hotel is located in a quiet area so had a good night sleep. Would highly recommend.

The room was large, very clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The complementary breakfast served was a great variety of high quality foods and beverages. Our room was in an annex connected by a private sidewalk to the main building. There was a nice green grass yard and garden between. The place had a feel of a boutique hotel with a very modest price.

We like to walk and did a lot of it in Padua. The streets are winding and there is a canal. It is very easy to get lost and we did. After a late dinner we attempted to walk back to the hotel. We hailed a cab at 10:00 pm otherwise we would still be out there. That reflects not at all on the hotel.

Very comfortable small hotel in an excellent location, an easy walk from the centre and wonderful sights such as St. Anthony’s Cathedral and the marvellous Giotto frescos in the Eremitani. It’s just under twenty minutes’ walk from the station. Rooms very clean an comfortable, with decent air con. The breakfast was very good and set us up for a morning’s sightseeing. The staff were helpful and friendly.

Nothing.it was ideal for our stay and reasonably priced.

I stayed there for 7 nights. If I visit Padua again, I will definitely stayed at the same hotel. Staff are very helpful. The single room that I stayed was very comfortable and it has everything I need. The location of the hotel is perfect, 10 minutes away from the city center and 15 minutes away from the train station on foot. I liked especially the breakfast, it was amazing. Patavium Hotel made my visit to Padua more beautiful. Thank you very much.

There is nothing that I did not like. I really recommend to everyone this place to spend their holidays in Italy.

It was perfect. Very clean. Good sized rooms. Comfortable (twin room). Classic Venetian but also modernized. Accessible with a lift. We had a had a view onto the street. The breakfast was fantastic - including fresh baked goods and good coffees to go. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The location was a perfect location to explore the city, it felt very local! None touristy. Would definitely recommend and would definitely go back!

Nothing that I can think of to be honest, it was perfect for us two.
