Hotel Classensis

Although the hotel is about three miles from the center of Ravenna, it is located next door to the beautiful Basilica di Sant'Apollinare in Classe. The 6th-7th century mosaics in the apse are spectacular. The hotel itself is situated in a lovely, peaceful garden with outside dining. An added plus is the hotel's private parking lot just steps away from the main entrance. The hotel also has an excellent restaurant that serves breakfast (included in the room rate) and dinner.

Not knowing what to expect of the location or accomodation, we were very pleasantly surprised. The staff were just lovely and dealt with my mistake in putting a time of arrival @ 3am rather than 3pm with a smile and no problem. The location is not far from the ravena city centre and the property sits behind a beautiful old church. parking is free. Breakfast was lovely.

Getting to the property was a bit awkward, our GPS sent us on a bit of a run a round. It would be nice if there was a sign on the main road for the Hotel.

Very quiet place. Pleasant and helpful staff. Absolutely great cuisine. Clean everywhere.

The air conditioning control in the room was a bit disturbing, it glows bright blue all night. The room we had available had a nice bathroom, but with a small shower, with more difficult access for a large person.

Quiet location with a beautiful garden and magnificent trees, comfortable room, delicious restaurant, good price. Great location just aside the splendid Snt. Apollinare in Classe basilica and a few minutes walk from Classis Museum of Ravenna's history. Ravenna's city centre stands with its stunning mosaics 5km avay, easily reachable also via the bike lanes. Bus available too. Use the car to get to the seaside, some 8km away. Free car park. Easy access from the main roads.

I have to make an effort, because my stay was very good... Maybe, the choice at breakfast is improvable. And the coffee brand isn't the best.

I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Classensis in Ravenna with my wife, 5-month old daughter and two labradors. The room was lovely and the staff were INCREDIBLY hospitable, accommodating all of our needs. The food was delicious, great choice of pizzas, but other tasty options also available. The hotel had charming atmosphere that felt very Italian. I highly recommend this hotel to everyone!

I loved it here, I was traveling with my dog and just outside of the hotel there is a park and so much green space to let her run. The parking was private, inside the hotel area and for free so this was very helpful. The stuff is nice, dinner was very good and at fair money. I’ll come back for sure during my trips in Italy.

The breakfast is really good with a lot of choices. The room is clean and pillows and bed very comfortable. The staff very nice and attentive and there is free private parking. It is peaceful and quiet in the whole area which is really important for relaxation and it’s just beside the Basilica Di Sant’ Apollinare.

What a lovely hotel, such a nice building. Right next to the Basilica, a very interesting structure to look around. Hotel is clean, staff lovely, the restaurant is great. I had the best pizza I've ever had, and given that I live in Italy that is praise indeed. I would have expected this hotel to cost more, great value.

If I have to say anything it is that we could not adjust the temperature of the shower but still give 10 out of 10 because everything else was fab

Very nice hotel in a very good location. The staff were kind and helpful. Clean and cosy room with comfortable bed. Children slept on the sofa bed, which was also large and comfortable. Breakfast was good, but it would be better if it was fully self-serviced. We ordered an a la carte dinner at the hotel, which was excellent. We recommend meals at the hotel.

Beautiful comfortable room. Lovely location next to ancient basilica. Gorgeous food in the restaurant and delightful restaurant staff, really kind and caring. A lovely stay.

Small things really: The stairs were tricky with our bags. Hairdryer was very poor Could do with instructions for aircon Wi-Fi Password didn’t work
