Grand Hotel Terme

Just for the context: it is our 5th holidays in this hotel and definitely not the last. We usually come for 1-2 weeks at the time. This hotel is an epitome of understated luxury: elegant , not flashy and with superb service. Hotel caters mostly to adult clientele, there were some , in most cases well behaved children. What we like most in this hotel, in no preferential order: 1. Location directly on the lake , just before an entrance to the town and Scalgieri Castle. The colour of the lake reminds me of the Maldivian turquoise with the blue mountains on the other shore. 2. There is free parking on site ( which sometimes looks like most modern car show - being not flashy doesn’t apply here ). There is a charger for electric cars available. 3. Thermal pool - it has a slight aroma of sulphur however Sirmione thermal water is sulphuric so you cannot avoid it. It has 34C in the summer and 37C in colder months. You can always cool down in the lake , which is easy accessible from the pier ( no beach ). Improvement this year : brand new sun loungers , very plushy and comfortable. 4. Very well appointed rooms, elegant , cleaned to perfection. Most of the rooms are already renovated. Extremely comfortable beds. Improvement this year : new, modern hair dryer and a coffee machine . 5. Excellent breakfast, generous buffet and a’la carte options. What makes this place really special is the staff. Big thanks to Mr Simone at the restaurant , Mr Miguel at the pool and many others whose names I don’t recall for making our stay so enjoyable.

The only downside is that is very hard to leave . We will be back soon.

Well equipped, excellent staff.

Carpets vacuumed but not cleaned. A subtle and explanatory note for the all-pervading smell of sulfur would be welcomed.

outdated and small fitness room extra payment of 70 euros per 50 min for private spa (no free spa!) warm thermal water in the pool (I did not like this in summer) value for money: we payed extra for lake view, but we could just see it from the side (bad luck I guess, because most other rooms have direct view in front of the balcony)

Amazing central location. Literally on the doorstep of the lake and beautiful castle. If you have a car hire, it’s easy to drive around to places like Garda etc. too. Very clean hotel with wonderful service from all staff. Pool area is lovely too, though be warned, it’s thermal water (37 degrees) so not suitable for children under 3 years old or pregnant women, or anybody who wants a cool dip on a hot day … more like hot tub temperature.

Craved a proper and cool swimming pool (not hot water) on a hot day. The hotel is lovely but our room felt a bit like ‘faded glory’. Bathroom fairly small and needs updating.

A wonderful calm oasis to escape the busy resort. We stayed to attend my sons wedding and the hotel put on a wonderful pre wedding dinner for my son. The food and views of the lake were fantastic. Our room had a lake view and a small balcony. Very adequate for our needs. I asked to be put near a lift and the lift was right next door to our room. The staff were all charming and super helpful

The music at breakfast was not suitable with an early morning gentle vibe. It was loud and thumping not to our taste. Something more gentle would have been better.

The hotel was clean, good facilities and close to the town

The pool was hot and there wasn’t a cold pool. We went in July so the temperature was very hot and wanted to cool down in a pool, but the pool was very hot. They do have the lake but some days it was too windy so you couldn’t swim in it. You can hear everything in the rooms, above us the people were very noisy and you could hear them

Location was amazing! Views from the dining area and pool were wonderful! Very relaxing place. Easy to walk to the castle and shops. Very close.

Hard to drive in and out of that hotel. We just stayed at the hotel the whole time. Room was a little small considering the price. Bees! Every time I tried to eat outside with the lovely view, I kept having bees get into my food and bother us. I’m allergic to them!

The location of this property is perfect for visiting Simione. it has a beautiful location right on the lake.

we have been visiting this hotel for the last 30 years and it was always like its name very grand. unfortunately it has lost its grandure. The hotel offers a lovely spa which has always been free to guests but unfortunately they are now charging €70! The once beautiful facade of the hotel adorned with flowers is now bare and shows where it needs decorating. The breakfast for a five star hotel is also very basic with none of the wants little extras that you used to get. The cushions that go on the sunbeds are now very old and discoloured and very thin so they are not comfortable to sit on for a period of time.

The attention to detail in the restaurant to my request for gluten free meals due to condition the waitress we meet on first arrival her expertise was very reassuring so professional and the rest of the staff were excellent

I was a little disappointed with the room view I upgraded for a lake view but the room I received looked out onto the road and trees cudnt see lake then I was offered another room with slight view of lake not a suite I would not let it stop me from returning I will definitely return here very happy with staff

Too many old people 🙈😁, I’m being funny of course, anyway I just want to say that they should inform the persons that the spa inside is with payments in additional cost which is not normal when you spend that amount of money per night.Just inform the guest before booking.The location was great and also the staff.
