Hotel Marolda

Small hotel. Modern and clean. Food in restaurant was excellent quality and reasonably priced. Couldn’t fault this hotel for the price we paid

We stayed in October so we had no need of the pool, but just for people to note the pool is a 5-10 min walk up the road at Villa Pioppi

The room we had was decorated much more modern than those shown in the pictures, and the hotel overall was great! The rooms had a free safe built in, with all areas of the hotel very clean and all staff were friendly. We chose to include breakfast, and this was a very good continental style breakfast. The location of the hotel is brilliant as it's so close to the lake and within a short walk of restaurants and shops, it was also located close to bus stops and a main road where it was easy to get a taxi.

Not a hotel problem, but just in case you are like me and perhaps skim through some of the hotel details/forget details when comparing different hotels, the photos of the pool area are from their sister hotel - It did not bother us visiting in March, but it did confuse me a little on arrival. The photo's for the Double Room are also a little misleading, we were on the first floor and we didn't have a balcony, or lake/beach view room. However, the rooms were much more modern than what is advertised, and we were very happy with our room nevertheless.

Room 1 was double aspect, light airy, recently renovated, modern and classy. Breakfast had a good selection. The coffee was the best I’ve tasted. Locals use it as well as residents. All Italians staying, no Brits, so felt properly Italian, not touristy.

Right on a busy, noisy bend in the main road, but the double glazing meant this wasn’t a problem. The swimming pool is a 750m walk down the main road, and belongs to a different residence, but the views across the lake make it well worth it, and you are welcomed, as well as feel part of the residence. Regular park and ride buses stop close to the hotel, so we used them. Not worth renting a bike in our opinion. Also, the best restaurants are on your doorstep, again in our opinion.

The hotel was nice, clean… staff very friendly. Delicious food during dinner time.

I didn’t know the pool is not located in the same building. You have to go to the nearby hotel around 5-6 minutes walk.. the information was on the website but one of the last one, probably I din not read it properly, anyway if they put as first picture the nice big pool is a bit disappointing that hotel doesn’t have it. However the whole stay was nice

Great location in the main town of Sirmione (about 1.5 miles from the ancient town), but close to shops and restaurants, etc. The lake is just across the road and great for open water swimming. Plenty of parking, good food, friendly staff, discount at Cafe 31, free use of swimming pool another hotel. Air con was effective, small balcony.

No lounge to sit in behind the cafe and reception area. The beds were very soft - not good for my back. Quite a walk to the hotel where the pool is located.

The staff went out of their way to help us when we arrived later than we expected to! They are very friendly and speak good English and French. Air conditioner worked well and the room was very clean. The bed was pretty comfortable also. The location is excellent walkable to many restaurants and has a parking lot. The attached restaurant is nice as well with a small discount provided by the hotel! There is a shuttle stop nearby to take you closer to the Centro Storico if you don’t feel like walking the whole way. There was no pet fee so we were able to have our cat with us comfortably during our visit. Excellent value for money and I will stay here again!

The room we stayed in was a bit outdated in decor, but I found it charming. It looked like the lower floors of the hotel have been remodeled, but the room I stayed in the top floor had not been. Perhaps it’s planned to be in the future?

We enjoyed our time at Marolda, the staff were very helpful and were able to help us with our inquiries. There was no kettle in the room, but they were happy to fill my water bottle with boiling water for me. We liked the rear entry/exit for upstairs. The food was fresh & very good and the variety of breakfast foods was excellent. I loved that I could get a hot chocolate drink here at breakfast. Not being a coffee/cafine drinker - it made my day being able to have a hot chocolate! Thank you so much! I was unable to get one anywhere else during our 3 weeks in Italy - so this alone made Hotel Marolda very memorable for us.

There was the occasional dog that barked for a while but generally it was ok. The room was quite small for 3 people and their luggage and the fridge was very tiny.

Very good service, good breakfast... Many options for vegetarians or vegans, helpful and friendly staff. Good view from the room, nice to wake up and see the sun and a bit of the lake.

Outdated management model. Too much unique used plastic. Shampoo, soaps, jams, honey, yogurt, nutela. We are in 2022, when will this plastic be over? I enjoyed having rest and leisure meals. Customers don't like vacation meals at a club/disco please put jazz at the breakfast and dinner not eletronic music. Music on the terrace quite loud at 8:00h there was already music and at 21:30 too! It's November and rainy days. Let your guests rest... Summer is over.

Very good value for money, by walking you can reach an old city (a longer walk). Rooms are spacious with modern TV, comfortable bed and a balcony. Parking is available for free, + the restaurant (on the ground floor). I think the hotel suffered with understaffed but probably because it was not a season when we were there, but the staff were very polite and helpful; sometimes you needed to wait a bit longer.

The restaurant is a bit pricy - but considering the location, maybe the prices are similar everywhere. Otherwise, everything else was OK.

Nice breakfast. More hot food would be my suggestion for future breakfast plans. Kids love the location. We only stayed overnight while travelling from Venice to Milan . Great location to see the beach and love the Simione city alone .. it’s cleanest and serene city. I did a good few shopping there in the leather outlet which is only a few minutes on bus We did walk 45 min each way. Kids lived the View from our room and Lake Garda ferry trip. Scaliger castle and Grotte de catulle. The evening and morning till 11 am it was raining but it just started to be the glorious day from 11 so we got the best of the day...

Noice of children and door banging and loud noises music from near rooms or downstairs went past midnight .
