Hotel Da Cesare

Centrally located in Stresa, right in the heart of the town with restaurants and shops immediately to hand. Very nice, helpful staff and a lovely breakfast.

No vehicle access at all to hotel (don’t believe Sat Nav) A large public car park is available nearby on the lakeside, and there were plenty of available spaces when we stayed in early September but it costs 14€ per day and not ideal for unloading luggage. No lift in the hotel. Fortunately we were only on the first floor. No idea if the staff would help with luggage if you couldn’t manage but they were very helpful in other respects so possibly.

Full of Italian charm & character. Very welcoming and understanding of dietary requirements. Great food!

Walking up three levels of stairs. It's an old building so no lift and no parking on site but free parking close by. As I booked the same day I can't really complain they have rooms on lower floors too but as we were last minute just glad we got a room. The shower had no pressure but am probably just being picky I loved the place and would return!

We liked the super central location, the downstairs restaurant, the breakfast and the nice lady always ready to help with a smile. The room was simple but things worked. Parking was possible to find in the nearby main street at a walk-able distance, the hotel is on a pedestrian zone.

Difficult to criticize at this price point in such a central Stresa location, but we found the bathroom very small and perhaps the bed linen could be newer. In our room there was no air conditioning.

Our room (12) was big and spacious. Continental breakfast was generous, staff was kind and welcoming. There is an excellent restaurant on site and location is 1 minutes from ferry station and "lungolago" to enjoy the lake. For one night it was perfect for us. There is a luggage room available after check out.

Price was way too high for what it is...however it is Stresa... (74 € ). For same price or less in other locations you get more. Stresa is above average with prices for accomodation (in general). Room on 3rd floor with no elevator and narrow staircases, no air conditioning, no insects net at windows, bed not particularly comfortable and no parking. Shower minuscule.

Perfect location right in the middle of the charming old town. Lovely greeting and service, wifi worked well. Breakfast was unique and absolutely delicious!

Access is a little difficult, and reception was inside the restaurant. Location among other restaurants made for some noise late at night.

Location was amazing and also the staff super friendly!

They could have given us the water for free considering it was from the tap instead of charging us €2 every refill. Also, a bit pricey as the building is really old.

location is excellent and the staff were extremely welcoming. breakfast is well balanced and of good quality, the restaurant has a vast choice of delicious meals. the room was clean and done every day.

shower a bit small

The location was excellent, the gentleman at the reception was friendly and helping. He let us check in before 2pm and stored our luggage for a couple of hours after the check out. The breakfast was good. we were expecting a buffet style breakfast but we were served on the table and we liked it for a change. The service of the gentleman was very good. Our room was quite big. we booked a room for 5 people and it was actually two rooms with enough space for everyone and two big terraces! I would recommend this hotel and would like to stay here in future as well. excellent value for money!

No lift! ;( our room was on the third floor and there were a lot of stairs to climb. We had to pay for an extra bed but it was not mentioned at the time of booking. we thought that it was a room for 5 persons but at the check out they said it was actually for 4 people and extra bed cost us 15 euros.

no disappointments! a bar fridge would have been nice ….no lift but we knew that before we arrived ….

Great location in Old Town, close to ferry pier. Staff were helpful & friendly. Breakfast was lovely & the hotel restaurant served up some great dinners. Would stay here again.

Bit noisy at night as in busy area.
