Hotel Lido La Perla Nera

Spacious room. Great view from balcony of the lake. Easy walk along lakeside to town. Many restaurants not far away. Breakfast staff very attentive and operate in many languages. Staff helpful with train strike issues.

Walking from station needed longer route as no footpaths on short route road. Instructions to find room in hotel could have been clearer. There was a big event on nearby island and the pass that would have helped us get past the police was not given out before the event. Electrical wiring cover in bathroom could be better secured to the wall. Light switches on wall inside bathroom near sink - but that is Italian electrics I assume.

The location is perfect and the staff are very accommodating! The breakfast is a good way to start a day of exploring and we were surprised at the amount of Gluten Free items (breads, crackers, cookies) they had available. Lastly, we were pleasantly surprised when the night manager provided us coffee and breakfast at 0400 in the morning as we were getting ready for our 0530 taxi pick up time.

Some folks may find the rooms small, but it was adequate. We spent most of our time out. The bed is comfortable, but they need thicker pillows.

Hotel Lido La Perla Nera is a charming hotel with the benefit of an indoor swimming pool. Breakfast had a very good selection and the balcony had a nice view. Staff were helpful and friendly. The hotel is ideally situated for the Carciano ferry port and has a fantastic lake side restaurant within a few metres. Rooms were a good size and very clean. I like to have 2 pillows and nothing was too much trouble for them.

There wasn't really anything that I would have improved.

the hotel offered good service and facilities ,and the staff friendly and efficient ,we enjoyed our couple of days on the lakeside . Parking was easy and the hotel was near the ferry to the islands .

the hotel is out of the centre of town and is not near many restaurants and whilst the walk to town is lovely by the lakeside we found we needed a taxi at least one way

Perfect location close to town and to the boat dock for trips to Borromean Islands. Very nice staff - gave us some great guidance for the boats and made an evening boat transfer and reservation at Isola Pescatori. Very good breakfast.

No minifrig in room. Decor is a bit dated. Not really a "view", more like a glimpse of the water through the trees.

It was lovely inside and very clean. The receptionist was very welcoming and helpful. There was a nice indoor pool which we were happy to use. The location was fantastic. The hotel is literally across the road from where you board the boats to the Borromean Islands. There is also a very handy restaurant across the road as well. Our room was clean and nice but did not have a lake view. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was ample.

Small old fashioned hotel in a perfect location for views and travel to/from the Borromeo Islands. Balcony rooms at the front have great views out on the lake and islands. About a 15min walk along the lake into the Center of Stresa.

A little dated in parts and could have made more of the large reception area.

The hotel is right on the lake. To get to downtown Stresa you can walk the breathtaking panorama walk, it takes about 20 to 30 minutes. The rooms had everything we needed, including a nice balkony with direct access to the garden and view of the gardens and a tiny bit of the lake. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast had a big selection, including different joices of free-from-products. We really enjoyed our stay.

Lack of drying facilities for swimming costumes etc

Great location near lake and jetty. Nice indoor pool open all the time. Helpful staff. Very clean. Nice double room with balcony. Good bathroom.

Restaurant - only open for breakfast, at no other times. Breakfast - was only from 7.30 till 9.30. That and the small number of tables meant people had to stand waiting for a table. Extending breakfast time till 10 or 10.30 would be better and probably more convient when on holiday! The breakfast coffee was poor, instant although the bar nearby has an espresso machine. Bed and pillows were very hard. TV not great, lots of italian channels, little else. The TV occupied almost the whole desk and each time the chambermaid moved the tv the wires had to be wobbled to get it to work again (bad wiring of tv). Suggestion: wall tv.
