Al Theatro Palace

Fantastic central location but lightly traveled. Clean and spacious plus a very comfy bed! Front office staff was always helpful with temperature of room or great dinner reservations (especially Marco). Breakfast was great and the breakfast staff remembered our preferences while also letting us practice our Italian (grazie!!)

Rooftop bar not open but it was 33 to 48 deg F so understandable.

Excellent location, near the St Marks Square. Not too far from a Vaporetto station, so it is easy to go walking from there to the hotel. Breakfast is good, several tasteful options. Bedroom very comfortable. Clean and tidy rooms. No noise, with good balckout courtains.

Cost is somewhat high. If you arrive by train, car or bus at Piazzale Roma, you need to take a Vaporetto or a boat service to get to the hotel, what can be tiring (but is worthy considering the good location). But if you have heavy lugagge you may find good options near Piazzale that can be reached by walking.

This hotel exceeded my expectations in terms of size and convenience. My double room was spacious and the bed was extremely comfortable. In addition to that, the location was under 10 minutes walk to San Marco Square, Rialto Bridge, and Ponte dell’Accademia. It was so convenient and the area was extremely safe. As a single female travelling alone, I never felt unsafe walking around before sunrise, and heading back at night after enjoying Venice’s nightlife. The staff at Al Theatro Palace were also extremely friendly and helpful, and made me feel welcomed all the time. The breakfast was good too and sufficiently fills you up for the rest of the day. I’ve definitely found the hotel that I will return to the next time I’m back in Venice!

If you want to be central and close to S.Marco but not be in a very loud area I would recommend this place. The breakfast for 3 nights was nice and the staff was very friendly and really cared about providing great service. I really don't have anything negative to say and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

I really don't have any complaints, just a note that if you are a light sleeper or sensitive to sound, don't stay in the room close to the breakfast room because you really do hear a lot, but I am sure this is not exclusive to the hotel and is how the places are built in Venice. For breakfast, they offered a lot of options however, only scrambled eggs and hard-boiled eggs and for any other egg option you would need to pay extra. It would have been nice if other egg options had been included in the breakfast options.

Location was perfect. The hotel was very modern and clean. The breakfast was fantastic to start our day, there were lots of choices. The staff was wonderful, they helped arrange a taxi to go back to the airport. They called restaurants for our party and arranged tables and they even found us places to eat when everywhere was booked up and were a group of 10 so that is not an easy undertaking. it rained one night and they had umbrellas for guests to use. And after a long day of touring their roof lounge area was great to sit at and enjoy gelato!

The room was small since we had a crib in our room. But family members were also staying at the hotel and their rooms that slept 4 were really large, I really liked their rooms!

I really liked the hotel and the location. It was super excellent. The breakfast was excellent. I would say that I was disappointed with one minor aspect of the breakfast experience. If you order an "americano" which is basically a long coffee the staff will make you instant coffee. I did end up ordering a macchiato, i enjoy drinking coffee and i like more than a sip so i usually get an americano just because it is so big. Anyway, this is minor, just a pro tip for any foreigners who don't realize what instant coffee tastes like. The macchiato was perfect! The hotel was perfect and the rooftop terrace was a nice bonus and great view of the Theatre and the rooftops!

Dont offer instant coffee in the place of an "americano." But this is minor. Great place will come back

The breeakfast was good and warm with additional for fried/onmelette. Would be good to separate the meat from the veg though. Rooms clean and comfortable, bathroom big and clean, no noise, very central, 5 mins to St. Marco's. AC worked well. Good hotel well renovated in an old city with old buildings. Ask reception for direction to St Marco's instead of Google as they know a quicker way. It's just a couple of turns. If you are a bigger group better to hire a pricate taxi from teh train station instead of travelling on local transport. Local transport on the way in teh boat never arruved, on teh way out we used a private company boat which took very long also. For teh Gondola should always negotiate a good rate lower then official and agree route. I think half an hour is sufficient. Agreed to take us to Rialto but didn't take us under the bridge as on my last trip. Theey have a couple of guys first who offer at a higherrate so taht when you meet the next guys 20m down offering teh official rate which is lower you feel you've got a bargain, but you can negotiate this down further. The cafe's on St Marco's with teh tables and chairs in the square are very expensive. Don't be shy to ask for prices. Enjoy.

Every thing was excellent. The hotel was very close to the center of Venice, only few minutes walk from San Marco square. The room was well kept and very clean. Everything in the room looks new. Very comfortable bed. Very good WiFi. The breakfast was very rich and tasty. All hotel staff were very friendly and willing to help. Luca was wonderful, he was there all the time answering to all our questions and helped us during our 5 days stay. Luca Thank you very much.

The location of this hotel is great. It's very central and not too hard to find. The room was clean and bed was comfortable. Breakfast was also very nice. The roof top view is great. The staff was helpful with storing our luggage pre-check in time and post-check out time. I would definitely stay here again the next time we are back in Venice and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

We got a room upgrade which was fantastic! Room was beautiful, big and clean. Staff (especially Luca) was really helpful and gave us a few suggestions on where to eat upon our arrival and how to get to the airport upon checkout. Good location - Area was quiet yet within 5 minutes walk to shopping, eateries and Piazza S Marco. Also such a relief to see a modern lift!

Eggs at breakfast could be better but not a major concern.. other breakfast options were good, I would just skip the scrambled eggs.
