Hotel Casanova

The property is perfectly located 150m from St Marks Square. Getting there is really easy - take the number 2 water bus and get off at S. Marco Giaardinetti. The ferry is right outside the train station just off to the left of the entrance as you walk out of the station, and was €9.50 per person at the time of writing. It’s a great way to see a little of Venice as well (about 30 mins to go round) and the stop is 2 mins walk from the hotel. Breakfast was included in our room rate and it was an excellent continental buffet with lots of choices, yummy and fresh. The team in the dining room were friendly and helpful. Our room (449) on the 4th floor was lovely and spacious, had comfortable beds and a decent sized bathroom and shower. We also had a tiny tiny view of the water (per the photo).

The person on the front desk when we arrived was not very welcoming and couldn’t have given two tosses for us being there, which I always find interesting with people given they work in a service industry and depend on people coming to their establishment to pay their wages. To be fair, there was another lady on the front desk and she was most helpful and gave us quite a different experience of the hotel

Perfect location. Large room, clean and comfortable bathroom. Lift and brakfast in the hotel. Helpful staff. We even got a breakfas box for travel, as we left very early.

The room was dark (there was view to another builidng - with public toilettes - 2 metres from our room) and air conditioning did not work (so it woupd be challenging to open the windows and refresh the air in the room). We did not spend any time during the day in the room, so eventually it was no a problem for my family. Apart from that, the room was comfortable and clean, and I would choose this hotel again if I come back.

Traditional rooms, balcony looking over streets below. Great shops right outside including restaurants and takeaways. Upmarket and designer shops in the same street as hotel. Lovely shower and marble bathroom. Very good breakfast. Staff spoke English and very polite and accommodating. Really enjoyed our stay. Will return! :)

Slightly noisy in the evening from parties in the street below. Really would’ve appreciated a coffee machine or kettle in the room. I was surprised there wasn’t one.

Location was brilliant. Breakfast was really good and the staff in the breakfast was very helpful and nice. The size of the room and bathroom was big compared to other places in Venice

The aircon was not working well, was set up centrally and not really cold. Also would switch off in the middle of the night and you would wake up in the room very warm. Some of the reception staff (except the blond woman who was early on the morning) were not very friendly. They did their job well but were not very friendly. The front door catches your fingers. There is even a sign. Maybe 🤔 they could change it instead of putting a sign

The highlight was the location, right in the heart of high fashion street, and just 1’ walk to get to the Grand Canal with all the amazing restaurants, caffès and nice restaurants. Breakfast: almost good, especially the fresh croissants and variety of pastries. Timeline of breakfast is strictly till 10:30am; even a minute after that they are in a real rush to tell you / show you that you have to leave the room. So, to break my review down: Location 10/10 Breakfast 8/10 Rooms 6/10

Rooms: they are well decorated, but the facilities are totally basic, with nothing extra, not even a complimentary water upon arrival.. Nevertheless, the most disturbing issues were 1) the unsteady floor that made you feel dizzy and 2) the old pillows that caused us a back pain.

The hotel location is what we liked the most, very central, we could see the Dior and Saint Laurent stores from the breakfast room window. The staff was very nice and helpful. The bathroom was squeaky clean. Morning coffee was very good.

The pillows - they were not comfortable at all, it's like I was sleeping on a bag of socks. The breakfast could be better, they don't have a lot of veggies and apart from eggs pretty much everything else is very sugary and sweet, even the "plain" yoghurt.

Good location (Near enough restaurants and pizzerias), the hotel is less than two minutes walk from the main San Marco, the room was big enough with a good bathroom and comfortable beds, the staff were really friendly. Breakfast was buffet, good enough and fresh

Hotel Casanova is a good hotel. The location of the hotel is exceptional. The room I was in is on the corner and has a view of one of the main shopping streets and a view of the grand canal. The rooms are fair enough, the bathroom is unexpectedly large. The staff is very friendly. The breakfast is correct. Right opposite the hotel is a restaurant with a good selection of food and fair prices.

Venice is an expensive city. For example, a beer in a restaurant on St. Mark's Square is 15-18 Eur (June 2023). You should go to restaurants in side streets where the prices are lower (beer is 7-9 Eur) and the quality of the food is the same. Lines to enter the Basilica on St. Mark's Square are tens of meters long and the only option is to use the services of turist agencies to enter (it can be expensive, but it's the only way to skip long queues). There are mosquitoes that can be quite annoying in hotel rooms.

Location is in the heart of high end shipping district. Service was great. Breakfast buffet was really really good.

they don't put on AC until summer or so. Therefore, it was very stuffy and hot in the room. To help with airflow, we opened the windows, in which the mosquito has nice meals off of me. You will need to bring your own slippers.

Cozy Atmosphere, two windows overlooking shopping alley below and sleek updated yet traditional bathroom. The bed was a bit HARD. An extra Duvet was requested, obtained 2nd night. Found it odd face cloths/washcloths were NOT provided. Not even provided upon request? Not aware face cloths/washcloths are NOT a common use item? Cozy in house Cafe providing full Breakfast, will NOT DISAPPOINT! Cafe au lait, juice, fruit, eggs, Ham, selection of croissants, quiche, salads, cheese, yogurt… endless! Two weeks in Europe truly some of the better selections presented. Fantastic location centrally near shopping and restaurants.

The very hard bed and difficulty obtaining that second Duvet were the only issues. …and that oddity with the wash cloths/face cloths… travel with own next time? …Never occurred that issue previously!
