Tokyu Stay Hakata

The room layout was first class. The hotel has included a washer dryer of exceptional quality. The thought of using it inspired fear but it could not have been simpler. They even provided the detergent/soap powder. This was all at no extra charge. worth considering after 14 days travel elsewhere. Check in and out could not have been any easier. The staff were all very pleasant although there was little need to interact. coffee machine in reception area was very good, nice coffee.

It is not really a dislike but just different taste. The breakfast, included in the very reasonable price, attempted to meet a western taste as well as Japanese and Chinese. This was not really a success. However, this is Japan, enjoy the culture and cuisine.

- With washing machine in each room, which is very convenient for long-time travellers! - Location quite convenient, it's around 8-mins walk from Hakata JR/ subway station - Good security. Guests need to tap their room key card when using the lift - Free coffee and tea bags at the lobby

- The sound of train is quite disturbing, especially in the mornings that it woke us up ... - The room is not very big that we need to move some chairs to open our 28-inch luggage - Not many food options for breakfast

Location was great and close to Hakata station. Room was very clean with good shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Washing machine was very useful as we stayed there for more than a few days. Staff was very friendly and helpful - they tried their best to help us, even when they struggled to explain in English and had to use a translator to make sure we understood each other.

Could hear the trains passing at night sometimes but didn't bother us.

The bed was super comfortable and the room had everything we needed and more so including a washer dryer and microwave! We appreciated the coffee making machines in the dining room during breakfast service and in the lobby area all day. The front desk staff assisted us with forwarding our bags to our next hotel.

We could hear trains passing by as it is to be expected with the train station so near, but we got used to the rhythmic sound.

The room I booked comes with a washing machine and microwave. Room size is quite decent and good security. Location is just about a 5min walk to the main train station. Room is clean and towels were changed on a daily basis. There is a convenient store just behind the hotel. There are also complimentary coffee and tea at the reception area for guests to enjoy. Staff were also helpful despite not able to speak much English. If you have many bags, it doesn't cost too much to take a taxi to the airport (esp. international terminal) instead of using the subway. You can ask the hotel reception to arrange a taxi for you which I did.

No bottled water provided in the room. As the location is quite near to the train track, if you are a light sleeper, you would hear the trains passing by. But other than that, all is good.

We reserved a room and expected laundry facilities to be shared machines in a laundry room somewhere within the hotel. Instead, there was a combination washer/dryer in the room itself, with a trouser press and detergent provided. There were clear and complete instructions making it easy to use the washer. The room is a little small but still acceptable even when we had two large bags with us.

There was no wardrobe proper and only a small clothes rod mounted on the wall. This left very little space for us to hang our clothes and jackets (the weather was quite cold during our stay).

A lot of amenities

Small but enough spaces to have a comfortable stay, everything I want is incredibly accessible in this place, including wash machine (and dryer), water kettle, hair dryer, even a foldable mirror and a bath tub! How amazing it could be in this small room. Highly recommended!

Some comments mentioned about the loud train traffic sound, but it didn’t bother me at all. Only in the last day morning, I indeed heard about the train sound, but thought it was adorable and memorable. And I woke my husband up to hear that sound lol.

Location - 10 mins walk to Hakata Station Washer/dryer in room - although it did take about 5hrs in total to wash/dry a load (had to do several drying sessions to get completely dried clothes) Bathroom amenities - good selection of amenities at the self-serve station in the lobby Shower pressure - one of the best during our Japan trip. Nice to have a strong, hot shower after a long day out.

Buffet breakfast - a small selection so it would have been better (for guests staying 4 or more nights) if they could vary up the dishes a bit more each morning or alternate mornings (they only made 1 or 2 changes).

Laundry machine in the room. Staff can communicate in english very well and willing to help you booking a taxi to airport, which take only 14 minutes from hotel to fukuoka international airport. Room temperature control is super nice, you can use air conditioner instead of heater even in a cold day (in case you feel a little hot in the room)

Dust all over the room, I have to clean it myself with wet tissue. Toilet water spray has a poop stain on it.
