Grand Prince Hotel Hiroshima

loved the location, we wanted to get out of the centre of town and this was perfect. loved the e-bikes and rented them a couple of times. easy access to the boat. incredible value (we had a king room on premium floor - fantastic views) convenience store in the lobby

the food - at least the two options we tried. the steak and seafood restaurant was fully booked so ate the buffet option first night. it was not good and expensive (relative to quality) same with breakfast. we were booked for the Japanese restaurant but after the first two experiences just wasn’t up for it. would advise you book early to get what you want.

The hotel itself was stunning, large lobby area that was impressive. The room was excellent, the bed linen was first class. The location is remote but it suited us. There is a shuttle bus, a local bus and a tram with a 15-20 minute walk. The fast ferry for Miyajima is next to the hotel and is an excellent service. There are various places to eat in the hotel but not always great. The staff were all helpful and friendly.

The food was expensive for the quality delivered. We had trouble booking into the restaurants as they were so busy, a simple email to us suggesting we book prior to coming could have easily fixed this. You need to pay extra for the spa area, this is the first time in Japan we experienced this and as such did not use the spa facilities.

The view is fantastic, the rooms are neat and well maintained, the air conditioning works, and the staff are friendly and speak competent English. There is very fast access to Miyajima, the best tourist attraction.

While access to Miyajima and the Mazda Museum (the best bits) is fast, getting to the main shopping district takes about an hour by bus. Getting to the station takes 30 minutes by free shuttle, roughly once an hour. If you're out later than 9 you will need to take a taxi back or walk. Walking is quite pleasant if you have the time.

Oh goodness, where do I even start. This hotel is amazing. I don't what it is but the floor that I stayed in smelled AMAZING. I wish I asked what that smell was because I want to remember it forever. The view of my room is amazing, the bed was incredibly comfortable. The room is also bigger than your average Japanese hotel. The staff are incredibly polite and helpful. They have a ferry going to Miyajima Island at the FRONT of the hotel, which is really nice. They have 2 different restaurants open late. All in all, I would stay in this hotel again.

Nothing I can think of. I really loved my stay here and will plan to stay here longer the next time I come to Hiroshima.

Amazing view, I was lucky to be assigned at the 12th floor facing the sea. Even though the hotel is old, the rooms are renewed with smart TV, comfortable sofa, and good toilet amenities. There are many restaurants available and it's great to have cocktails at night on the top floor. Breakfast is also served there, which makes it a unique stay experience in Hiroshima. It's also a big honor to be able to be hosted in the place where the G7 Summit was held.

Many facilities involve an extra charge: from the pool to even the parking lot! It shouldn't be like that as the room rates are already expensive. The breakfast could be improved for Western taste - I missed cheese options and sweet pastries.

the hotel is directly located at the ferry port and you can make reservations for the ferry to Miyajima, which is very convenient. The breakfast was good and western and japanese style buffet. Hotel staff was very friendly. We had a wonderful buffet dinner at the sky restaurant, however it is necessary to make a reservation in advance. The shuttle bus from Hiroshima station to the hotel was very convenient.

Hot spring facilities are extra charge and very expensive. A room with a view is not guaranteed, after reservation the hotel asks you to pay more for a guaranteed ocean view room. The shuttle bus leaves in the morning too late for early trains, we had to take a normal bus.

Shuttle bus to Hiroshima Station, 21-2 bus direct to peace park and A Dome. La Goon Yakiniku restaurant within 1km of hotel. Ferry to Mayijimi direct from ¥3800 round trip. Origami tables in foyer, convenience store.

Shuttle buses are not very regular, so you either need to catch the public bus (21-2 that leaves from hotel) or pay ¥3000+ for a taxi. No late buses. Service in the Restaurant!, very slow and discriminatory

A beautiful spot near the water and the views back to Hiroshima both day and night spectacular. Convenient transport options either free hotel shuttle bus or local bus with busstop right in front of hotel. We stayed with clubroom access well worth the extra. You can also use the high speed boat to the island right off their jetty. Totally recommend.

Not much to dislike. Just like a lot of hotels in Japan the shut-down and no customer shop in it maintained. Sure once numbers rise it will be dealt with.

We loved the availability of staff. The extra attention to help us check in etc. The facilities are wonderful. There is a food/gift shop in foyer, breakfast on 23rd floor with amazing food and views. Cleanliness is excellent at this hotel. Comfortable rooms with a view! Value for money, and well worth staying there. Carpark is huge and discounted for staying, just give them the pass before leaving each time and they will adjust. Location is the best! Even if you don't have a car it is fine as we did, but chose to use public transport into city each time. This hotel has its own wharf for ferrying to the island which we used and enjoyed! A must do!

There is little to complain about. The hotel is magnificent in size and décor! Almost to the point of feeling a little embarrassed arriving after a 5hr road trip that day with all our belongs and tired eyes! but, we soon adjusted to the experience and soaked it up! We nearly cancelled our booking beforehand to stay in the city instead, but we were so glad we didn't as it was easily accessed by car or bus, and this hotel became the most memorable of our road trip holiday, staying at 9 hotels! Thanks to all of them though, it was a fantastic Japanese experience!

We had a great view of the bay (and we weren’t even on the “ocean” side). The room was spacious and the bed comfortable. The AC took a little while to come on, but worked great once it did. The staff was amazing. We opted for the breakfast buffet one morning (extra charge) and it was plentiful and delicious. The location was a bit far from downtown Hiroshima, but the bus came to the hotel doors frequently so we rode it into town whenever we needed to go. The hotel even offered a free shuttle to and from the main train station, which was very convenient on our last day when we were headed out. There was also a high-speed boat straight to Miyajima that saved us a lot of time. It was an extra charge, but definitely worth not having to figure out bus and ferry transit there the hard way.

The Onsen was an extra charge (quite a bit we felt), so we did not go.
