Hilton Hiroshima

The Hilton Hiroshima is a classic Hilton hotel, located in a terrific area of Hiroshima. It's an easy walk to a number of restaurants and to the Peace Memorial, as well as to the ferry to Miyajima Island (at the edge of the Peace Memorial area). It's also an easy walk to Hondori Street, which is a large, covered, bustling shopping and restaurant area. The rooms were spotless, the staff always helpful and unfailingly polite. There were families, couples, business travelers -- a wide spectrum of people with a lot going on, but always quiet in the rooms. There were a number of restaurant choices if you chose to eat at the hotel. We would recommend it when visiting Hiroshima.

The only thing we would have liked is if their coffee shop area opened earlier, but 8/9am seemed to be the standard opening time across most places in Japan.

The hotel is very beautiful and pretty. The lobby is very pretty with a toy train which displays various sceneries of Japan. The room is excellent. Spacious and big with excellent bathrooms and big windows overlooking the hotel with a gorgeous view of the sunset. The beds are super comfy and big. The bathtub is big and very comfy. Great value for money. You can also call for cabs very easily by asking the hotel people to book for them. You can also store luggage after leaving the hotel if you have a place to visit. It is very close to the Atomic Dome and the Peace Memorial Museum - via foot around 10 mins and by cab around 5 minutes. The station is around 20 minutes away. The hotel had an excellent indoor swimming pool and hot tub / jacuzzi which was the highlight of our trip in Hiroshima. You can easily rent swimming costume and cap for around 1200 yen and the staff is very sweet.

Loved the spacious, well-appointed room, the courteous staff, the ample breakfast buffet, the convenient location, and the awesome views across the city from the upper floors. The rooms were well-designed with a comfortable window seat that overlooked the city. Try to get an upper floor room with a view. I never shut the curtains all night. The location is just a couple blocks from the “loop” bus which connects to the train station and the peace park. Convenient and inexpensive. Plus, the reasonable price for the room, offered through booking.com, makes a stay here irresistible.

Extremely welcoming, warm staff who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Exceptional customer service from the door staff, bell desk and receptionists. We were concerned about sleeping arrangements for our 6 month old daughter however we needn’t have worried as the hotel provided a lovely wooden cot with mattress, small pillow and light duvet. The pool/spa areas were a real treat after travelling around Japan. We enjoyed a pool visit (we were the only ones using the pool) after a visit to miyajima and the changing facilities felt luxury… Dyson hairdryers on offer, what more could you need! We opted for eating at the buffet restaurant to fit around our baby. Food was really tasty with a wide range of cuisines from around the world.

Location isn’t amazing but that wasn’t an issue for us as the receptionists were extremely helpful with ordering taxis etc.

We chose the premium room with 45 m2 and it was very room. It is very comfortable and clean. The staff is very nice and responsive. We had the breakfast during our stay at the hotel and it was amazing too.

The only thing I didn't like was the burocracy to get the good quality internet. In order to have the good quality internet, you have to register in Hilton program which is not nice since the high speed internet is must in any hotel. And everyday I had to put the password again which was kind of annoying. But the internet had good speed and, after some burocracy, it was free.

Breakfast was good if a bit chaotic. It's a buffet-style breakfast and the dining room gets very busy. The selection available was excellent. It included both Western-style and Asian-style options as well as plenty of fruit. Everything you want to start the day. The room itself was large (we stayed in a twin - both beds were doubles). The view from the room over the city skyline and with the mountains and sea in the distance was lovely. The products provided were good. The room was clean. The restaurant was also excellent. The wagyu was incredibly delicious and sitting at the counter watching the chef prepare your meal was great. The bar was a pleasant place to kick back and chill in the evening after a day exploring. A jazz band played one evening we were there which was nice.

The only thing that annoyed us with our visit was the other guests at breakfast time. Lots of people seemingly so desperate to fight you for that last croissant you'd have thought their life depended on it. What's the rush, you're on holiday. I think this says more about tourists in general than about the hotel.

Was very surprised by the quality of this hotel. As the Hilton brand is declining in term fo service in other countries, this one is way above. It fits with a 5 stars level hotel. Great rooms, very cleaned with space, fine decorated, top service and amazing pool. It was nice to have a « Japanese traditional » break and have for 1-2 nights some good modern confort. Would recommend it to anyone. And really affordable in terms of price.

Considered the good quality of all the rest, the gym could deserve to be a bit bigger with more equipment and musculation machines.

It was sheer luxury having a large room with space for our luggage, good sized closets, a large bathroom area with bath/shower separated from the sink and toilet closet. The table had space for two people to work at. Water, tea and coffee bags, and towels were replenished daily the beds are not too soft and not too firm. The comforter covers are light but warm. The Fuji Grand is catty corner in one direction and there is a 7/11 on the opposite corner. It was an easy walk to the Peace Memorial Park and to the entertainment district. Our luggage was collected from our taxi and brought up to our room. It was nice being back at a Hilton.

Breakfast could be a nightmare. Queues were horrendous no matter what time we came. Started queuing at 8 one day, 9 the next, still waited for 30 minutes. On one day, 4th May, there was very little food available and when it was brought out everyone swooped on it and it was gone in seconds. We felt like asking for a refund to be honest, it was pretty unacceptable. there was no dim sum, no cold meats, no juice, no bacon, no fruit, no yoghurt, no hash browns, no jam, no pancakes, no cream, no smoked salmon, no mushrooms and no croissants. This lasted for 40 minutes. It was Golden week but even so it wasn’t up to standard.

The hotel is such a great place that it feels more like a Conrad, the Hilton luxury brand. Large opulent lobby with a cozy cafe area, very handy for snacks. The rooms are very well-equipped, very comfy beds and pillows, and a range of toiletries, though as usual, they are hard to read in the shower without glasses. The location is great, a 10-15 minute stroll down to the Peace Park and Museum, ferry to Miyajima, and some bars and restaurants; while it is just 10 minutes by taxi from the railway station, or a 25 minute walk. The okonomi-mura - a large building famous for okonomiyaki - is also around 10 minutes walk away. Wifi is adequate. The staff were very helpful, with local directions, assistance with parking, and suggestions for travel. Room service was good, hot food ( see below), and a good range of dishes and drinks. We felt really pampered during our time there!

The food in the restaurant could have been hotter, at both breakfast and evening time. The buffet had a really good selection, but it used IR warming lights to keep the food hot, not undertray heaters; but they were really ineffective, so bacon, eggs, meats, virtually all the hot, cooked foods, except for the rice, were just warm, lukewarm. Small toiletry bottles, that you can't read in the shower without your glasses.
