UNIZO INN Shin-Osaka

It was close to the shin Osaka station and reasonably. The staff speak English and the room size was just right for 1 person, it fits business travellers as the space is utilitarian and the area feels more like commercial than touristy but the room was fairly comfortable and there is a restaurant beside the hotel entrance. There is a water dispenser in the hallway too. Amenities are easily found as there are other restaurants and a family mart just a 1 minute walk away.

It was harder to find than I expected and you need to take note of which exit to use from the shin Osaka station if you are coming from the Shinkansen - use the south exit and take the escalator on the right down to the underpass or use the Midosuji line exit that is about a 2 minutes walk from the hotel. Some of the items like the duvet cover and carpet were stained but overall the room and items were clean.

The room is clean. It’s near subway and jr, so it’s so convenient. There’s convenience store nearby, so you can buy some snacks anytime.

Its so close to shin osaka. From airport via Haruka, alight Shin Osaka, take central exit (dont follow google map), then keep right. You can see Unizo at exit,jusy keep walking to your right. Going to touristy area is very easy, take the metro which is just next door. Clean laundry is a big plus. Water dispenser is provided. You can refill every now and then. The receptionist are very nice. I left my luggage for days as I was off to some other prefecture, and they kept it for me til I checked in on my 2nd leg. Combini is nearby, there is a resto at the ground floor too. Good price point

The location was great, not only for going back into Osaka (via Shin-Osaka station) but also for catching the train to go to another city since the Shinkansen lines go through Shin-Osaka.

It was not an issue for me but I can see how the sounds of the trains could be distracting for others. I think it just goes with the nature of booking a place near the train tracks. So long as you are not there for any extended hours then it should not be an issue at night. I was there for new years where the trains went 5AM to 3AM the next day. Overall, I think of it as white noise.

Location was near a metro station and within walking distance from JR / Shinkansen station. No lack of eateries and convenience stores around the hotel. The train station has an attached underground shopping mall as well. Hotel is clean and has an attached Japanese restaurant that serves discounted breakfast for hotel guests. Air-conditioning is responsive to heating/cooling and has no weird smell. Staff is adequately conversational in English. Microwave, vending machine and laundry available at the lobby.

I am nitpicking a little but would be great if the hotel have a small weight/threadmill room.

1. I’ve stayed in two Unizo(s) in Tokyo and all 10/10 2. Main reason I chose Unizo in Osaka is because of the pleasant experiences and their location is splendid. 5-7 minutes walk from the train station or 2-3 minutes walk from subway 3. Second reason was because my itinerary needed the Shinkansen and Shin Osaka is 5-7 minutes walk from the hotel. The subway is literally a minute away if you walk fast! 4. Restaurants and convenience stores all around here 5. You won’t go hungry as Shin Osaka houses Eki Marche and you’ll probably have food coma if caution was thrown out🤣

Tiny room with a very comfortable mattress. After a long travel, we were able to sleep very well, and then easily walk to the station in the morning to catch a shinkansen. Also, although we arrived to early in the day to check in, the front desk held our luggage for us free of so we could go out and about. Really friendly, helpful service.

The room was quite tiny, but then, we weren't really doing anything in there except sleeping. They provided two button-down robes, presumably for after showering - which is already more than we expect - but regrettably both were too small for my wife and I (and we're not even especially large people, I swear!). Perhaps a tie-front style robe would be more applicable for "all sizes".

due to the typhoon we had to change our plans, so we booked an additional night in this hotel. as soon as we arrived the girl at the reception perfectly understood our request to stay in the same room despite 3 consecutive reservations under the same name. staff: speak English fairly, very kind. Location: excellent, convenient to shin-osaka exit 4 or exit 7 if you use the metro. Room: spacious, clean, towels changed daily

The smartest thing to do while travelling in a country such as Japan which has an extensive railway network is to book a hotel next to transport. This hotel is located just next to metro - 1 minute, and Shin-Osaka - 5 minutes yet you cant hear the noise once in your room. Although tiny (cubicle), the room is clean, cute and has most things you need.

Breakfast can be improved

The location is excellent! It’s right across the Shin-osaka station.

The room was a little tight but i guess it’s a standard room size in Japan. If I nitpick, we stayed there for 4 days and put the no disturb sign on the door but was never given supplies like towels and such. We’ve been going around Japan for 3 weeks and this is the only hotel that never gave towels.
