Hotel Porto Allegro Puerto Vallarta

The location of this property was fantastic. Not knowing the town, having never been here before, I couldn’t have hoped for a better spot. Situated in a safe, quiet corner amongst some nicer shops, there was little automobile traffic and very light tourist pedestrians. There was a major full-service bank the next block over. It’s a very short 2-3 minute walk to the south end of the Malacon. The river Cuale and it’s island of shops and restaurants was at the end of the block, with the Romantic Zone just beyond. 4-5 minute walk to the Lady of Guadalupe church. Driving-wise, it’s easy to access the main road north through the rest of city, and easy access to head south out of town to the Botanical Garden and Los Arcos. Likewise, easy to get back to. No dedicated parking, just on-street parking which can be difficult during the day, but by late afternoon or early evening spaces open up. We never had major issues in 6 days. The staff was friendly and welcoming and available for advice or help with services, including very reasonable laundry. There was always somebody at the front desk, they really kept a good eye on the place. We had a 2nd floor corner room with a good, wide view of the street. The room was large, we found the bed to be very comfortable, and while not a luxury property, it was very clean and in good repair. It would have been nice if there was a couch or some other seating, as there was plenty of space for it. The shower was large, the rest of the bathroom on the smaller side, with not much counter space for personal items. There was a mini-fridge for our water and such. All in all, we had a delightful stay and would absolutely book Hotel Porto Allegro again without hesitation!

The large room would benefit from a couch or other seating besides the bed. Not much else, we were very happy with our time there.

I loved the bed, sheets, towels...it was very clean! The bathroom was great...hot water. The location was perfect. The breakfast was nice.

There were shades but no curtains in my room. I felt sort of exposed and there was light coming in at night from outside.

Excellent walkable location to Malecon, Playa de los Muertos, Gringo Gulch, tons of restaurants. The Staff provide exceptional service always friendly and helpful. Karen, the breakfast server deserves a special mention for her speedy efficient service always with graciousness and a smile. The beds are comfortable. Showers have plenty of hot water and water pressure which is not always the case in Mexico. We stayed for one week and highly recommend Porto Alegre if you are looking for place to stay in Old Town PV.

Keep in mind that it is a little noisy at night and early morning. The church bell rings multiple times and there is traffic noise which of course comes with their convenient location which is no fault of the hotel.

What an incredible place for an incredible price! This hotel was the perfect home base for our week-long 25th anniversary trip to PV! Everyone made us feel even better than if we were "right at home." The room was lovely with a comfy bed as well as both a shower and a jacuzzi tub. The made-to-order breakfast is out-of-this-world! The location is literally a 2-minute walk to the beach, the Malecon, the Zona Romantica, and Astrid's spa where we each got the most amazing, full-hour massages for the equivalent of $30 US/each! Being there during rainy season actually heightened our experience. The cute little rooftop pool was so refreshing. Even if it was raining, we loved to sit there at the end of a hot day exploring your beautiful city. We definitely plan to be back.

as an older woman traveling solo, I felt very safe in this hotel. The staff are friendly and very helpful. the location is excellent. it is clean and the breakfast is exceptional. lots of hot water although sometimes had to let it run for awhile to reach the right temperature. The staff serving breakfast were lovely and after two days were bringing some items without my even asking. a really excellent hotel.

The noise both inside and out was uncomfortable. I could hear conversations on the street from my second floor room. Better windows would go a long way in solving this problem. Footsteps, closing doors and conversations could also be heard in the hallway. I stayed her three times recently and my room by the elevator and stairs - 201 I would not recommend due to the noise.

-Staff is amazing and helpful with information regarding surrounding shops and covid test locations, offering to call and set up appointment -Breakfast is good from 7:30a - 11:00a, very generous hours for late raisers -Shower water pressure is good and hot -Complementary bottles of water and coffee everyday but need to ask for it -Great location if you like to explore and walk around the center of the city

-The window wasn't completely sealed, so outside noises came through -Chruch bell goes off at 7:30a and every 30 minutes after that not good if not early morning raiser

Location was good, just a block away from the Malecón en el centro. The staff was very accommodating and friendly including the ladies who make the breakfast which we enjoyed very much.

Rooms were a bit small if you have kids. So we felt a bit tight and the room was initially a bit stuffy they could definitely turn on AC before guests arrive. The pool is a bathtub on the 4th floor essentially they could do without it and maybe put a hot tub which would be more appealing.

- Great location, walking distance to the beach, malecón and bus stop that can take you to Boca de Tamatlan - Big room with a really comfy and huge bed, cable tv, fridge, AC and good internet. Coffee is good, too! - The small pool was great and the view from the terrace is really nice. - Friendly staff

The windows were facing a really small and calm street, but sometimes you still could hear some street noises and church bell

Great location in the heart of everything. Friendly/ attentive, happy staff were always ready to please.. Delicious made to order breakfast every morning served on the terrace with breathtaking views of the mountains on one side & the sea on the other. The breakfast servers & cook were most gracious.

No complaints about anything when you are having a wonderful experience.

The shower very small and water dripped outside into the bathroom AC WAS LEAKING WATER My fridge sparked and burned out That was crazy People in Mexico don't have a sense of urgency but im already used to that. The staff took its time to fix my issues.
