Bungalows Zicatela

The room was exceptionally clean. It was big enough for a couple and beds were comfy. The pool area was good and was never crowded. The restaurant food is very good compared to some restaurants I tried there and cheap. I loved everything about Puerto Escondido. Please have in mind that this is a very relax town and it’s not about luxury. If you want to relax and not see many people around you should go to Bacocho beach. I was in room 24 and barely heard the music and noise from outside. I really liked the hotel and staff. Definitely coming back. Also, the beach is literally 2 mins away walking and it’s stunning especially sunset time.

The only thing had my wife and I a bit worried was the room door since it had poor security. The only security was locking the door with the key and the hotel entrance is always open. However, the whole time I was there, everything was very quite and peaceful even though is right in front of clubs and restaurants. Nothing creepy happened and you always have hotel staff by the entrance

not because of the cost but breakfast should include a free juice. spoils an otherwise tasty breakfast. rooms at the front noisy because if the clubs. despite we had pay for a sea view we decided to move to the back of the building to sleep better. toilet and shower room need some work to modernise. lack of providing shampoo.

The staff was so great. Very helpful and friendly. Great location and amazing views from our top floor room. The on site restaurant had a wonderful breakfast and we ate there almost every day.

The big dance club across the street was super loud and they stay open pretty late. I didn’t mind so much but others would probably find it frustrating if they tried to sleep.

Noise at night, tap not working properly in bathroom

Location, internet, restaurant and breakfast, pools. I asked to change my room because of the noise and the staff tried hard to help me. ATM in hotel.

Needed more staff on at reception. Some very noisy guests and screaming children. Noisy if have street-side room, but that's the same with all places in Zicatela. Was a little hard to find at first because just looks like a restaurant and the name of the hotel is not at street level. It's not really "bungalows", more like a hotel complex.

Regarding breakfast: Generous, tasty and enjoyable in front of the beach. Location: With no doubt it was the best choice for us when booking. The main pool is nice, but some maintenance needed.

The second pool (the one with the small cascade) needs some more cleanless. Perhaps more chloride. The front doors of rooms would look nicer with some new white painting maintenance....

Great location, there are not too many places like this on playa Zicatela with direct sea view. The room on the top floor was amazing, big balcony with glass, so no restrictions in seeing the sea. The yard with 3 pools feels cozy and welcoming. Very comfortable beds. Top cleanliness in the room every day. Nice breakfast staff. I would come back any time!

The internet was not working during 4 days, but this seems to be a big issue in Puerto Escondido and it was not due to the connection in the hotel. The big issue is the music of the beach places in front, and there are several. Of 9 nights I spent there, 7 of them had music full on until 2:30am, twice till 5am. I would consider myself not sensitive to sound and I have a good sleep, but we're talking here about noise volume that shakes the bed. If you're a party person this place is perfect. If you're looking for silence, you're better off somewhere else :)

Well-run hotel with clean and simple rooms. The pool area is attractive and there's a bit of variety for families. The welcome drink on arrival was a nice touch. Excellent breakfast options. Right opposite Zicatela Beach and near some of the best beachfront dining options.

Our triple room was right next to the facilities area which let down the vibe. While clean and well-run, the property is a bit more shabby than we were expecting. Think surfie/casual rather than resort. Curtains were thin - we prefer blackout blinds.

Overall this was such a good value. The rooms were comfortable and the staff did an amazing job keeping the room and facilities clean. The AC in our room worked well, the wifi could be spotty in the room but worked well in the common areas. The daily breakfasts were great as well.

The property is a little dated but suited our needs perfectly.

The staff especially Carolina very helpful with her English! The maintenence staff took awhile to get to you but they are def busy and hey who needs a TV on vacation anyway! The construction next door is a little annoying for sure but if you can appreciate everyone has to eat, you can't be mad at them. Wish breakfast started earlier but hey things are just getting back to normal as fishing and other tours start at 7 and the included(very tasty) breakfast isn't till 8 am. So missed it a couple times. All in all a great place to stay if you don't mind people having a good time all night at the bar accross the street or if you don't mind banging and hotel building at 7amish till 10pmish, they are the concrete crew soon to be finished soon I hope.

Maintenance of some things in the room could be better. Like I said an earlier breakfast would also be great. And the room needs more outlets!
