Costa de Oro Beach Hotel

We got an upgrade for a room with a balcony and it was entirely worth it. Huge suite, splendid view of the garden and the sea. The hotel is distinctive and beautiful architecturally, unlike most of the new anonymous highrises. It also has a small hotel feel and a super friendly staff. We were literally two minutes from our room to the very nice beach bar, huge pool, and the uncrowded beach itself. Very convenient to restaurants and shopping. Couldn't have been happier any place else in Mazatlan.

The food at the hotel restaurant was a bit disappointing, but there are plenty of good ones nearby, especially Mary's and FISH right across the street.

Before we arrived we read some of the negative reviews by previous people who complained about the staff not being friendly and that the tile floors had some condensation. Now that our trip is over, We found every single person who worked there to be very friendly because we were friendly towards them. everybody we passed that worked there would say in Spanish to us good morning or good afternoon. Of course we responded the same way and when we needed some help we would ask very politely could you help us please. Regarding the condensation on the tile floors that was caused by the air conditioners running all the time: This will cause condensation on cold tile floors. Instead of complaining about it and worrying about slipping we simply took a bath towel and used it to wipe down the tile floors each morning. That seemed to solve the problem which wasn’t much of a problem unless you’re in capable of solving any problems without complaining.

I didn’t like the fact the ocean was so close and sometimes the spray from the ocean would which spray us when we were eating at the very edge of the seawall. I can’t think of anything else that made us unhappy there, except the fact we had to leave after one week.

location is great. there are restaurants, clubs, pharmacies within walking distance. across the street their are ATM banks and money conversion. we stayed at a suit and all suits have a view of the pool and beach with was so beautiful. Their is a spa within the location and they are very friendly and give good massages.

All the staff was nice except for one girl, she was making a face because I asked for a extra towel when I didn’t know towels were limited. she could have communicated better and without the attitude.

I liked the view from the balcony, the amenities that they offered, were good, the employees (some) are great, overall the installations are great, I’ll definitely come back soon!! 😉

I didn’t like the fact that we were offered to buy timeshares, but I was not convinced of getting such responsibility and I denied the offer, after that we notice, a big change in the actitud of some employees towards us; and the service to our room, was definitely NOT the same, my family and I were in shock to see that unnecessary behavior. ☹️ Also, the receptionist are rude and they’re not willing to help with questions that might arise with our stay. They need to have a better training in concerns of customer service.

This hotel receives mostly family's with small kids which was what we were looking for. Staff is great and delicious food. We booked a room with ocean view and it was worth it. The beach is clean and nice. Staff go out of their way to make it work for you. All inclusive is optional so you don't have a lot of drunk people all over the place.

Rooms close to the street are noisy due to a bar that plays live music full blast across the street till late at night and in the morning you can hear the traffic. I'm a light sleeper so maybe it's just me. We were moved by the friendly staff to a less noisy room. If you book on the weekend expect triple crowds vs. Week days.

Location and view was amazing, air conditioning exelent. Every afternoon we have a event, like careoke , dancing or lottery. Very nice place to stay.

The room smells a little humidity and on are last day rain to much in a short period of time and the streets was cover with water and are Uber can't pick up us because to much water. Finally we get one of the red trucks to take us to the airport .

The hotel is in a great location, close to a lot of shops, restaurants, and services. The staff was amazing, attentive, and kind. They made sure we had a great time as first time guests, and we will be coming back for sure! The food is also very good; the breakfast and lunch buffets had a lot of tasty options. The hotel restaurant featured some amazing well put together dishes. The pool and snack bar came in handy for drinks and lighter snacks. Also, the night shows were so much fun. They had folkloric dances and live singers, all with an amazing view of the beach.

I noticed the couches in our suite had some tiny harmless ants. Not a big issue but was a bit annoying at times.

The ocean view from one side and we had the city view from the other side.. the pools were clean and like that it wasn't over crowded

What I did not like was that they did not tell you that everything is included, including tip; the servers from the restaurant treat the people differently from those who pay to those who have everything included. They also tried to charge me for a mug from the room they we did not use, with the excuse that we broke a mug.

Staff were friendly and very accommodating. The hotel pool area was great and the room had the best ever view of the sunset. Not as huge as some of the beach hotels, less people more comfort.

We stayed 4 weeks and although there was some street noise at night it was soon drowned out by the rolling surf.

It was a nice place to stay quiet and clean

Terrible check in it was 5 pm and waiting for room to be cleaned I was very sick from heat . They did have life guard check my blood pressure well security did up front help sucked 😕
