Hotel La Siesta

Best location. Walking distance to many tourist attractions, galleries, restaurants, and shopping. Beautiful sunsets from my hotel balcony while having a couple of cold cervezas. My room had a good-sized closet and the furniture had drawers for storing clothing. The staff was very accommodating. The front desk clerk was exceptional and she spoke perfect English.

The only thing I didn't like was the noise from everyone celebrating as they drove by in their vehicles (Pulmonia and La Aurigas stereos at full volume), from dusk well into the early morning hours. This is NO FAULT of the hotel or its staff. I bring earplugs to fix this common problem when I visit Mexico.

It's a good location for parties. But if you want a good early good night rest then this is not the hotel. The ocean view is great for sunset. Can't beat the price. The hotel's common area is very unique. I felt like I was in a tropical forest. It's a good place for a nice meal. You got to try the burger at the hotel, seriously. It's a version of NM burger that has guacamole, but no hot chilli.

The water pressure is weak for a good shower. I was there 4 nights in mid March 2023. After I booked the room, they emailed me and said that week is the AC yearly maintenance period. I did not need AC for that week.

Absolutely awesome location, balconies looking out to the ocean, where there is a great beach (accessible at low tide). The hotel is nearly 100 years old so it is rustic, though it is does have a lovely pool, cafe-bar and open air lounge area. It is right at the Centro Historico district and on the Malecon, so very walkable!

The hotel is on the ocean but the main drag is right in front and it can be very noisy, especially on weekends. Basic amenities in the rooms, bed was a bit hard and a double not queen size.

We had a room with a fantastic view of the beach and ocean. The glass doors and window covered nearly the whole wall. We could relax on the beds and watch the people (and pets!) on the malecon and the beach, from dogs frolicking on the beach, to people doing tai chi, to the crowds of people jogging, walking, skating, walking dogs, etc. on the malecon. The beds were very comfortable, and I slept great every night despite the traffic noise. The staff was very helpful. Great bar in the lovely courtyard. Birds and towering plants everywhere.

Starting at 5pm, the traffic and crowd noise was high until the wee hours. On the positive side, it didn't keep me awake, and the music and people singing along was festive.

Wonderful greeting on check in, but I cannot Remember the gentleman’s name. Also upon check out Isabella was a great help calling us a taxi and she was very sweet and kind. We love the location absolutely. There is no better location as far as being right on the ocean.It’s the reason that we stay there every time that we visit Mazatlan. It is an older property but it is very inexpensive, has a lot of character and is quite clean. We will always come back to La Siesta!

Only a few things and they are small, like the slats in our door were broken so there was a large gap. Also we didn’t have a lock to keep the slatted door shut and to get that ocean breeze going through the room.The beds were a tiny bit hard but we slept OK on them. We have found that most beds are on the harder side in Mexico.

Had an amazing view and staff where very friendly and helpful. Location was great. Walking distance to reasturants and plaza Machado.

Only thing I didn't like was that it had no elevator. Also the room didn't have a mini fridge like most hotels.

room location - at night we fell asleep to the sound of the waves crashing on the beach. The staff was very accomodating. The room was clean...with the exception of a cheeseball left from previous guests :).

The ocean view the atmosphere the great customer service and it was very clean

The people that work there are extremely nice. They try to make your stay as best as they can. We had a room and on the side we were able to see the ocean. The hotel is very beautiful.

Very caring, professional staff, 24 hour secuity. Helpful going to from airport and restaurants. Many speak English.
