Avalon Resort

The resort is secluded and quiet while boasting a beautiful green scenery upon entering. My partner and I stayed in a studio which is conveniently situated next to the spa, sauna, pool and river for kayaking. Must try the kayaking. Our host Brad spent a lot of time and effort into welcoming us and making sure we were comfortable with our accomodation and the facilities available. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful; they pointed us locations around the area to visit as well as going the extra mile to prepare a nice gift for us since it was our 3 year anniversary.

Beautiful setting, stunning bed, great spa. Beautiful place to get away with friendly, helpful host. highly recommend. Kitchen well equipped. The pool area and gardens are absolutely beautiful.

robes (for spa and sauna) would have been the cherry on top in this luxury feel experience. There were a couple cobwebs with dead insect above bed. tiny things, otherwise immaculate. Different sized pillows would have helped me sleep better. I should have brought my own. This stuff is chasing perfection stuff... don't let it put you off. You won't find better than this resort IMO. Loved it!

A quiet, peaceful resort. Only 4 cottages and 2 cabins. Beautiful surroundings, a natural swimming pond, sauna, jacuzzi, bbq, pizza oven and a covered communal area. We had a cottage with kitchen and all equipment, dining, living, bedroom and private, covered outdoor seating area. Just what we needed for the last week of our holiday.

Nothing to dislike unless you don't like walking up hill. There is a steep drive down to the resort, which could be a challenge to some who want to walk out into Kerikeri.

Great location in beautiful surroundings. There is a bakery close by (walking distance) that is amazing for breakfast and lunch. Great food, sit down service and excellent beverages. The decks on the cottages are very idyllic and relaxing. Gorgeous gardens and great places to walk. Close to town and tourist attractions. The Rainbow Falls are lovely - footbaths are on hand to clean shoes and stop bacteria and disease affecting the Kia birds in the sanctuary. A beautiful, relaxing place to visit. Friendly accommodating staff.

The driveway requires careful negotiating.

We stayed in this stunning peaceful haven for 15 days . It was hard to say goodbye to our delightful rooms with kitchen and verandah and landscaped gardens .The perfect location for local town amenities. However, a bit of a steep road to town ,not a problem for us, though, as the walk is delightfully tropical and we did hire a car for road trips The Wi fi works very well ,and the owners were so amenable. Nothing was too much trouble and they were always there to help if needed . Especially advising us on the BBQ ! This is a fantastic secret find a real gem of a place . We enjoyed our stay immensely and looking forward to returning in the near future .

We thoroughly enjoyed the stay and everything went well with no problems. The staff were very wiling to assist and promptly if asked . The setting is a fantastic location and extremely relaxing . We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend the resort to anyone .

Would be helpful if there were a few more utensils in the kitchen like a spatula and peeler .Instructions on how to use the fridge where to turn it on would also be very helpful.

The place is very well distributed and we found the location excellent. They had a sauna and a spa pool from 8 am to 9 pm but the owner told us that if we didn't make noise we could use the spa a little longer. The place is huge, and the resort is fully booked but we hardly saw people and were there for the 4 days of Easter. The wifi has amazing speed. They have a natural pool with crystal clear water that I recommend 100%. Kayaks and vests are at our disposal for free. The place is a 100/10 super recommended.

We would have liked better signposting of where to go to the river, what kayaks we could use, and not be afraid of trespassing on private property or places we shouldn't. They also did not offer us a cleaning service, which we did not want, but sometimes it is good to offer. Thanks for everything

The cottages were absolutely stunning, the interior was bali inspired, a beautiful full sized kitchen with dishwasher, 4 hob gas cook top,microwave, beautiful tableware and large solid kitchen table. The king sized four poster bed was extremely comfortable with beautiful linen. The large deck offered stunning views of the immaculately maintained landscaped gardens leading down to the little lake. The bathroom was really large with a full sized bathtub and separate shower.

The long narrow driveway was a bit scary hoping not to meet anyone coming the other way, definitely not walking distance into town, so you will need a vehicle. Unfortunately it was torrential rain while I was staying here but it was so comfy and the large covered deck still meant I could go outside. I would of liked at least a concrete path leading to the front door to make moving my suitcases a bit easier especially as it was raining and the ground was a bit muddy.

Simple but quality accomodation. All that was needed for a really comfortable and relaxed few days. Daughter loved it and it was just really tranquil and restorative. Pictures didn’t do justice which was a nice surprise. Will certainly go back - felt very looked after and spoiled thankyou 🙏

Had a problem with the toilet which seemed to leak on first night but sure that will be promptly fixed. At tentative and Gard working staff and groundspeople. It was lovely.

The location was perfect and central, the reception and check-in was very pleasant, the room size was great, a beautiful little cottage, facilities were fantastic, quality towels and bed linen, beautiful king size bed, clean and modern bathroom, beautiful view, ponds on the property and a variety of bird life, very quite and overall a wonderful stay.

One of the day beds was quite firm and hard (to my liking) to sleep and sit on but there was a second day bed that was perfect so luckily did not hinder the stay at all.
