Austria Motel

Great location, handy to all the shops and restaurants with four square less than 5 mins away. Had everything we needed, great having a sheltered deck where we could enjoy the view. Rooms decent size and beds comfy. Hosts were really lovely, down to earth great to chat to, really accommodating and gave great advice of places to eat and things to see and do. Being able to be picked up from the airport in Keri Keri is an added bonus.

Not much as was pretty great for what we needed. Only thing if I had to pick anything would be the stairs as no lift so we had to climb up and down, which I guess is good excercise 😂

The comfortable beds, tidy, door that separates the kitchenette, the Lazboys, balcony and best of all, Elaine who welcomed and farewelled us with an endearing persona and beautiful smile. Easy walk to the centre, Four square grocery and ferry. Very peaceful and clean. Loved dining on the balcony. Kitchenette had everything we needed so we enjoyed our own healthy meals while saving money. A touching welcome with a box of chocolates.

The remote control malfunctioned, it got sorted. But it seemed that the other rooms' tv's intercepted the signals and vice versa. The balcony also did not prevent the smokers' puffs next door. Luckily, they left early.

Older style that was well maintained and had great attention to detail. The bed was comfortable, the reclining arm chairs were great, and it was lovely to be able to sit outside on your own balcony. Also the little things made it comfortable, like really nice mugs to use, not those cheap thick ones other motels have.Easy walking to shops and restaurants, would definitely stay here again.

Unfortunately the shower pressure was extremely bad, which is such a pity because everything else was so good.

We were in room 1 aka Vienna, I don’t know what the other rooms are like but this was great! We are travelling quite a bit and don’t have a massive budget - this was great value and if you walk very slowly it’s one minute to the seafront and another minute or two to shops, supermarket, cafes, etc age five minutes to the pier where all the ferries and trips depart from. We had a 240 degree balcony, large comfy bed, great shower, plenty of room, spotlessly clean, nice furnishings, well equipped throughout including the tiny perfect kitchenette. Reid and Ann are friendly, helpful and lovely. If you like that kind of thing there are 80+ channels on the TV too. Leigh and Russell are great little towns, plenty to do and see, we could have stayed for weeks! Thank you both for a lovely stay

The only thing was if you’re staying longer and love unpacking your suitcase then an extra drawer or two to store clothes would be great. There was a wardrobe and bedside tables with a couple drawers so that was perfect for our three night stay

Location was excellent, could walk to restaurants and wharf in just a few minutes. It was very clean. We both loved the beds which were very comfortable. Modern kitchen which had everything we could need if we were cooking there. Living area was confortable.

One bedroom was an internal room with the only window being a very high one into the storage room - had to sleep with the fan on for air circulation. The other room had plenty of window but it was straight into the carpark next to the office so had to keep the curtains closed if you were in there. The toilet was accurately pictured as being on a plinth, however I could not reach the floor so had tp buy a small storage container as a footstool. The motel office is in once corner of the unit and when people were in there you could hear the conversations, so assume they could hear ours, and if people were outside the office you could hear all of that noise when in the bedroom next to the office, however as out most of the day it wasn't a problem really.

The motel is in a central location in Paihia and we could easily walk to restaurants, supermarkets or the wharf. The host was very accommodating and we had all the basic amenities that we needed during our stay there.

The lock of one of the windows was broken so it could not be securely closed but the area the motel is located in is quite safe. The furniture and the bathroom are old but they served their purpose well. The driveway for the parking is quite steep, be aware of this if your car is low to the ground.

Located just a few minutes walk from the main jetty, shops and restaurants. While it is an older style motel, the room was spacious, comfortable and clean. Hosts are lovely and happy to give advice on local activities and places to eat.

Plumbing is a bit noisy (too much water pressure?) and the balcony faces neighboring motel's driveway.

Nice small motel with 6 self contained units located one street off main road by pier where all tours begin. Owners were very accommodating and helpful.

Kitchen could use upgrades to be more modern. Kitchen tap was not mobile so hard to use to clean sink. Would have been nice to have single plunger coffee packs to use with coffee plunger.

Friendly owners, comfortable new bed. Lovely balcony. Conveniently situated and away from the main road. Good shower and Aircon.

Could be more sockets in the kitchen plus a few more sized pans. Our fry pan was also needing replaced as its non stick was past its best. Also our room slept 3, perfect but only 3 forks knives etc so had to wash if using when cooking before using to eat with. No tongs. Upstairs accommodation wouldn't suit everyone if disabled.

Our host, Reid, was extremely obliging and friendly. Very informative and nothing was a problem. So welcoming ! Location was fantastic-1 block away from all the restaurants, shops & beach Onsite parking was also key and our apartment had a great view of the bay all the way across to Russell- fabulous 👏
