Warkworth Lodge

Loved the character and decor in the communal areas and fabulous kitchen. Beautiful comfy queen bed in bedroom. Lots of space in the family unit, so great for our sized group.

The spa pool had a slight smell and we were curious when it last had chlorine. We couldn't get ranch slider out to deck to lock, you might want to investigate.

The location is walking distance to the shops (including supermarket). Also, we had a one-brm suite that was really spacious and this was ideal for a group of people to gather together and get ready for a wedding (hair, makeup etc). The place is surrounded by lovely trees and greenery. The lodge also has a large main lounge and kitchen opening onto pool area and its really super for groups.

It is close to the motorway so there is road noise. However, our unit was further away and I didn't really find it too much of a problem.

Very old style, large, comfortable home with a small private swimming pool and a constantly hot hot tub outside. We enjoyed our stay in this period residence. Some bedrooms are ensuite and others are not. Ensuite in the blue room is very compact. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Good facilities in the kitchen. This house has a "family run" type atmosphere.

It's hard to think of anything we didn't like and we don't want to be nit picking because our overall impression was very positive.

Michelle was very helpful, and accommodating and had great local knowledge. The building itself is very elegant and interesting with well-planned kitchen facilities and I enjoyed the swimming pool. My room was upgraded and I had a good view and a very pleasant room. Great to see coffee plungers and fair trade products. Excellent location - even walkable with a wheeled suitcase to the bus station. A very comfortable lounge area too and it was very helpful to be able to arrive a little early and wait in the lounge before my bus on leaving. Very good wifi.

There is a bit of traffic sound from the motorway but that is just the nature of central Warkworth and the ease of walking to the river and restaurants more than made up for it. I did have some more late-night coughing neighbours and could hear through the walls and got some sound from the shower fan/extractor. The three rooms in the villa are quite close and you could have 6 people sharing one bathroom if all the rooms were fully occupied - the downstairs suites looked amazing. Everything was very clean and well looked after, the vents in the bathroom needed a little TLC.

Nothing, but you can see that the facilities are not new (a few chipped tiles in the pool, the toilet in the shared bathroom is made of plastic and shows a few signs of wear - still totally acceptable though) and the pool is not heated, so can be quite cold

Loved the location of the lodge in Warkworth close to everything. Lovely pool bbq area (bit of a downer that we didnt have a hot day as I was looking forward to a swim in the pool). The staff member that greeted us was wonderful. She had a lovely manner, friendly and explained everything including showing us where all the facilities were.

Good location. Booking was super easy. Staff were very polite and helpful. Studio room had all the basic amenities that one need. Spa pool was nice. Gorgeous communal room in the main building.

No staff on site to handle a query we had at 7.30am when we couldn't access main building with our key. Wifi was kept on dropping out. Room was largely clean but when sofa bed was pulled out it was evident that underneath it had not been cleaned in a while with debris on the floor.

Great place to stay with welcoming staff and an ideal location. The pool would be great in summer but we enjoyed the jacuzzi on our spring trip. Lovely outdoor area to relax in and shared lounge. The shared kitchen is absolutely beautiful and fully equipped. Our two bedroom suite was spacious and had everything a family could need. The beds were very comfortable and despite the motel being by a main road we didn’t notice any noise at night. Highly recommend!

Good TV. Room was comfy and warm. Easy check-in with friendly staff to welcome us. Great location for our needs. it was great to have an upgrade on the room due to a guest staying a night longer in the room we had originally booked.

Would have liked a bath or hot tub. Pillows were a bit hard and bed was not as comfy as I like it. We could hear other guests moving around upstairs.

perfect location walking distance from town. great pool and hot tub. perfect for a family get together where everyone has their own room but can gather together in the shared sitting room
