We stayed here in order to catch the morning ferry to Kawau island so the location is ideal. We liked the fact that the accommodation area was separate from the building housing the bar and restaurant so it was quiet. It had free off street parking. It is close to the nearby shopping parade for groceries, takeaway fish and chips and similar. But we chose to eat at the Salty Dogs restaurant and bar.

I have some walking disability so in the wet shower room (which was good as no ledge to step over to get in the shower) I would have liked to see both a grab rail to hold on to plus a non slip shower mat.

For the rate we paid this accommodation was fine. It had everything we needed in the init & the bed was comfortable. Extra seating was great, as that is sometimes lacking in some accommodation. Good central location.

Our Unit (Unit 1) was fine but others felt that tings wer a bit dated. Having said that, the price we paid was obviosly noy going to fget luxury!. Those sleeping near the stair well found things a little noisy. Not being able yo recieve breakfast in-room was annoying. We appreciated the info given about a good local venue where we could breakfast.

We had a huge room with a king bed, tv, small couch, table & 2 chairs as well as a kitchenette complete with a sink! The rooms are in a separate building from the bar and restaurant which means that you don’t get any pub noise. We couldn’t hear any noise from adjoining rooms either. I’d happily stay there again.

We were really impressed with the room. The only drawback was the heating was via an oil filled (fin?) heater. It did a reasonable job but isn’t a very efficient way of heating and I would have liked another hook or two in the bathroom.

very spacious light and airy room, massive comfortable bed, two chairs by a small dining table (surprising how many hotels/motels have only one chair in a room for a couple), being separate from the main building housing a bar, bistro and restaurant, it was quiet. Adequate car parking for each guest., a wardrobe with hangars and plenty of drawers etc as storage space. We were going to Kauwau island so stayed here before and after our trip to the island.

The shower was of the ‘wet room’ style which is ideal for disabled people. I have a mobility problem so that was ideal. But no grab rail to hold on to, no shower mat. In a previous hotel a few years ago I slipped on the wet tiled floor and fractured my skull so I am very conscious of these sorts of things. A non slip shower mat is cheap to supply. A grab rail is a one off cost to install. The provided bath towels were big and lovely, but the towel rails to hold them were in the kitchen area, not the bathroom.,… not the best . Butvthe shower it self was good with copious hot water.

The staff were super lovely and it was great having the pub right there for a drink and a game of pool. Friendly locals too which is nice. The rooms were away from the pub and quiet. Had everything we needed. I wish I booked one with aircon since it was such a hot week. We really appreciated the fan though.

Rooms were a bit dated and smelt a bit musty. The musty smell cleared having the doors open. It was likely the humidity.

Four of us had two nights in an upstairs apartment. It was lovely and roomy..so thoughtfully equipped, fans and bedside lights in both bedrooms, a small table inside and outside, lots of PowerPoints. The bedroom had great bed linen, small cupboard drawers and somewhere for your case! Well maintained.Easy place to settle in and stay longer.

The hallway between apartments smelt slightly damp and the carpet was a bit frayed (maybe from removing water?)There has been a lot of rain however and the apartment did not seem damp in the slightest.

The rooms are well priced and spacious, the bed was really comfortable. Pretty good facilities especially for the price, and with the pub right there we were happy.

There is a damp smell in the room, we could feel the moisture in the air. a dehumidifier or heat pump would make a huge difference. Our friends stayed at the same time in an upstairs room which did have a heat pump so maybe they are in the process of adding them to all rooms. Some attention to detail with cleaning the bathroom needed also.

Loved the set up, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We arrived fairly late and it wasnt an issue, collected key easily and went off without any stress to head to bed as we were quite tired after the travel.It was great to be able to have our dog come with us also and enjoy the beach and walks. Despite the bar pumping with music when we arrived, you wouldnt have known it was so close. We couldnt even hear it from our room. The food at the restaurant was GREAT! enjoyed every bite.

I requested a "clean" so that we could have dirty towels taken and clean towels provided but we only got one clean towel and face cloth provided when there were two of us. The rooms could probably do with a bit of updating but otherwise comfortable.

Spacious room with a comfortable bed and pillows. A quirky, but dated room with a little balcony. Some previous reviews complained about the noise from the pub but we didn't have a problem at all.

The room had old fashioned toilet paper holders and soap dispensers that you find in public toilets. It wasn't an issue but I felt it let the room down. Just a shower curtain rather than a cubical meant the water got all over no matter how hard you tried to be careful.

We loved our stay with you. The beds were sooooo comfortable, the unit was very clean, the setting was lovely and food from the pub was very generous and absolutely delicious. The staff were incredible, as once they saw Mum was on a walker, they offered her a ramp to get into the unit, a shower chair, and a non slip mat for the shower. We had a very special holiday thanks all the best for the year ahead. We will be back :). Jo and Jocelyn
