Hilton Auckland

Great location. Lovely room and we were offered a free upgrade to a beautiful top floor room with a huge balcony. Very comfortable and quiet. The Fish restaurant was excellent and I’d give the food, preparation and wine pairing menu 10 out of 10.

We were offered an upgrade on arrival and then we weren’t and then we were again after lots of confusion. The upgrade room we were offered then wasn’t ready so we had to wait for over 1 hour ( free drinks vouchers were given) Because of the delay we were given an extended check out up to 1.00pm the next day. However, the next morning we were chased and harassed with several phone calls well before 1.00pm. Clearly our late check out agreed had not been noted anywhere. And there had been a staff change. So our morning was not exactly stress free.

Excellent location by harbour and wharf at centre of Auckland. Harbour view room had an excellent balcony and staff were very friendly

Timeliness of making-up of rooms.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Room service was fast. View from balcony gorgeous. Good communication as I knew a cruise ship would block the view for a day. A Hilton bed and a Hilton pillow are as good as ever.

Menu not as wide as it used to be. Feels limited. Never given a towelling coat although it should have been there. When room was cleaned no face cloth or teaspoon left. Tiles on the balcony broken and squelched when you walked on them. Floating room rate charged very annoying. Other guests checking out from USA were very upset. We were told it was foreign currency moving but I paid with a NZ debit card in NZ dollars. The price you ask for at booking should be the price we pay.

The hotel is really lovely you walk in and it's beautiful with a great vibe - nice and out of the way but also close to all the city and activity at the Viaduct - the staff are amazing they really make sure you have a fantastic time and can't do too much for you. Love the bar to hang out in with great views and lots of comfortable seating, great breakfast at the restaurant (best pancakes ever) where we had lunch as well with lovely views. Our room had a balcony with a view - it was quite noisy at night as it overlooked the shipping yard but wasn't too bad.

Just the noise at night but that wasn't the fault of the hotel - also wish the water in the shower was a bit hotter.

Unprotected wifi made us exposed to scammer on credit card. Had to cancel our card. Excellent view , excellent service, excellent staff interaction.

I didnot expect to be scammed while applying for Hilton Honours wifi membership on their own wifi network. Otherwise the most excellent way to celebrate my seventieth birthday.

Location for visiting Auckland was perfect, close to the city center and harbour. The rooms are clean and spacious. Facilities like bar and gym are all present. The staff was very helpful.

The breakfast is a bit strange. I am a Hilton Honors Gold member, so for me breakfast was included. I still had to pay for hot breakfast and coffee and tea though. My colleagues, without gold status, had to pay a lot of money for breakfast. It was very unclear what was included in the breakfast.

The room was very comfortable with a wonderful view over the water ways and ferries going backwards and forwards. There was a lot to see from the balcony. Staff were extremely helpful and attentive, we had a broken shower head that was mended immediately and we were given a complentary drink for our trouble. Friday night was an unexpected bonus with live opera in the bar area. We ate at the hotel that evening and the food was excellent, as was the service. Breakfasts were of a high standard and staff friendly and attentive, including the car parking person.

Nothing, would happily have stayed longer.

The View

How small the room was and particularly the bathroom

Great location right on the water. No cruise ship in during my 5 night stay so I had an incredible view from my room. Wonderful breakfast. Quiet despite being very high occupancy. Nice staff. Concierge especially helpful…the man from China.

I liked the green saver type of system that if you declined room servicing you got a $10 NZ per night credit to use in either of their 2 restaurants. Despite asking a lot of detailed questions about the use of the $10 NZ credit. I was surprised that when I checked out this morning that there were additional rules that I was not informed of. After a discussion with the nice man on check out this morning, he credited me per my prior education.

We had more of a view of the premises next door and a peep of the viaduct, The room service was good, the waitstaff excellent as was the staff on arrival. The bed was too soft for our liking, but we slept well. The room was generally clean, dust buildup on the ridges of the chair seating frame. Tiles cracked in the shower. The room was just a bit tired. All in all it was a pleasant stay, we have booked to go back for our wedding anniversary, this time we have decided to pay for a room with a harbour view.

The night time bartender at Bellini bar was a bit cocky, I ordered a short the way I like it he proceeded to tell me it was wrong to drink it that way, he may have been right, however I chose to order what I wanted. My husband went back to the bar to order a second drink. The bartender was too busy talking with another staff member rather than serve. Not great service but okay service.
