Motel Six

The place was simple and just did the job it set out to do. The place was cleaned within an inch of its life. The stainless steel surfaces were like chrome they were so well cared for. It was starting to blow a storm when we arrived and the heatpump worked wonders. The shower was a little old fashioned but worked well and was hot, which was great.

The one thing that was a slight disappointment was that we couldn't find a recycling bin so left our recyclables next to the bin. Literally that was our only complaint, the place did exactly what it said on the tin :D

The staff where very very friendly and accommodating. Amenities very handy Very close to everything . Restaurants . Shopping complex. Gym. Cafes. Convenience store across the road 10 min walk to City Centre &Town Harbour. Local Bustop right at Motel Six .

Need to get rid of 1 door in bathroom soooo in the road and not needed as there are 2 doors there. No Uber in Whangarei. Taxi service is horrendous drivers are dodgy. Won't accept the ride if too short. They want cash upfront. No option but to walk especially Sundays and public holidays as there are NO local buses running.

It was quiet and clean, had all the amenities we needed. Close to town -we were able to walk there. It was close to supermarkets and not far away was the Kamo cycle walk path. It met all our requirements.

In the shower there was water coming down from the room above when they were showering. Put a towel down so we couldn't hear it. We reported it the next morning and they seemed concerned and said they would get someone in to fix it. Otherwise everything was good.

Customer service welcoming and friendly was excellent! However, our room was showing some wear and tear. The bathroom was fine, and the shower had good pressure. Had our 80 year old mother with us, and she was happy she had a comfortable bed. Unfortunately, our bed had a dip, so it would get uncomfortable. Otherwise, the customer service and location are great, as we were having to go to whangarei Hospital every day.

Our family traveled from AKL for family business. Our accommodation was very comfortable the staff were very welcoming, wonderful and understanding. I loved that we were right in town, loved the outdoor setting with the table overall we enjoyed our stay 😀

The only downfall for me was that the bed was too soft for my liking but for those of you that enjoy sleeping on a cloud then the beddings provided would be right up your alley 😊

Old Motel showing wear and in need of work but very clean and good amenities within the room, and great location close to town. Was very quiet considering it is on a busy road. Good value for what it is.

Motel grounds need tidying up and the rubbish collection area should be less obvious - not a good look.

Great location, 5 minutes from downtown, plenty restaurants within walking distance and 2 x Supermarkets close by. Lovely clean studio unit, (gave you option to eat in or out), nice hot shower, secure parking right outside unit, real value for money for nights stay, would definitely book again in future.

Location of wall heater, in sitting room area, TV and sky box right above it, cause issue (heat risk/melting)? Plus, It’s winter, no electric blankets, lovely linen, comfy bed, but cold when hop in bed, there was 2nd free standing heater in bedroom.

We had an upstairs 1 bedroom unit. It was spacious and equipped with everything we needed, some renovation has been done to modernise the motel which is great. Amazing location to town and supermarket. Had air conditioning which was greatly appreciated. Definitely will stay again as was great value.

A few more power points in the kitchen instead of a plug board.

I had a ground floor room. Perfect, as I was carrying a lot of luggage. The room I had, had a bed in the lounge. very convenient so I could watch my movies and TV from comfort of the bed. This getaway was a chance for me to just blob out, relax and enjoy a nice peaceful weekend before I start another crazy week of work. Awesome. I'm already planning another trip up soon. I like this motel, If I can get a ground floor room again; it would be the icing on the cake.

There are no complaints here. Can't think of anything I didn't like. No, everything was perfect.

Nice and central to all the places I needed to be.I couldn't hear any traffic from where my room was even though the motel was on the main road. Nice quiet area.

Parking was a bit tight. The people in the next room to me parked their car too close to my space. That's not a bad reflection on you guys though 😉 Could use a tea towel in the roo
