Eurostars Oporto

We stayed for several days on a business trip to FEUP. The proximity to the university was the main criterion for our selection, and, in this respect, it was perfectly located (for the city center it was a bit far, but the metro station of Hospital São João for line D was just around the corner). The room was very comfortable and spacious, the bed was nice, adequate sitting place and a kitchenette for basic usage. The room (including the bathroom) was very clean and very well sound-insulated. The personnel was kind, attentive and particularly quick-to-act to whatever we requested.

Although the kitchenette was available for basic usage (coffee + microwave), there were barely any plates to use for having even something small. Using the cooker comes with an extra charge (which is also kind of unusual), but we weren't actually interested in cooking; just make something quick to eat for breakfast, because we didn't have the time to actually have breakfast at the hotel on most mornings. The management may want to reconsider this policy. Other than that, the room was a bit dark. Finally, some balcony furniture would have been useful to make the best use of the balcony with the nice view.

Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were large and clean and there was a welcome bottle of port, cookies and an apple which was a very nice touch. Breakfast was excellent and not too expensive as was the set lunch. It is also very close to the Metro and less than 15 minutes from the airport. This is a student area so there were lots of bars and coffee shops close to the hotel. I was at a meeting at the University so the hotel was ideal. If you want to see more interesting sites you would have to take the metro or a taxi to the centre. Neither are expensive

Nothing really - the hotel is part of a chain so there was nothng very unique about the building but I would happily stay here again.

The room was clean and spacious, and the staff were lovely. The location was great for public transport and local shops, and inside the building was quiet. Parking was an extra bonus and something which was essential with our hire car.

We had a room which faced onto the main road and cafés/bars which was noisy. At night people treated it as a track for a drag race so you could hear revving engines and exhausts either side of midnight which wasn't great, but can't really be helped, other than the clientele the bars attracted. Also the shower could have been a bit cleaner, I.e. it had black mould on the shower tray and between the tiles.

Liliana at the front desk was very friendly and accommodating. She was always very helpful with any questions we had. The room was bigger than we expected. The twin beds were very comfortable. The room was sheltered from any of the noise that would have been generated from the front street. The buffet breakfast at 10 euros per person is well worth it.

The hotel is about a 20 minute metro ride to the old town center. However, the metro line stop is across the street from the hotel which makes it convenient. Our room did not have hot water, only warm water, one evening and the following morning. We do not know if the problem was fixed as we were checking out that day.

It's always a pleasure when everything about a hotel is slightly better than you expected. In this case the hotel consistently over delivered on every promise. Every interaction with hotel staff, from check in to saying good bye, was a pleasure. The room was bigger and better than we expected. Not only did we not feel the need to complain about anything but instead we thought the hotel and it's staff deserved our compliments and thanks. We were aware that the property is not central in Porto but the surrounding area was full of surprises and hidden gems on the restaurant and café scene. A metro station is very close by and by Uber we got anywhere in the Porto area both quickly and for a very reasonable fee. We also really liked the opportunity we got to see a side of Porto that was not like a postcard. Real neighborhood not geared much towards tourists. Eurostars Oporto was a breath of fresh air and we will be back.

It's hard to come up with shortcomings of a host that did not fail during our stay. The room, the staff, the location and the breakfast left no space for complaints. Nothing was over promised but a lot over delivered. To be nitty gritty we had a bit of a struggle with our TV remote. An important button was not working.

Everything was just perfect. In the bathroom there was not just bath gel and shampoo but hair conditioner and body lotion as well. The staff was friendly, the room was spacious, the bed was very comfortable. We loved the delicious breakfast too. Merro and bus stops are nearby so it was very easy to travel anywhere. There is a direct metro line to the train station so it was about 20 minutes to get there.

Very nice and spacious rooms. The bed for two was the largest in any hotel on our trip, seemed larger than a North American king size. The bathroom was very good, great shower, seemed brand new..

The on-site restaurant was very quiet, we were first to arrive one evening and the meal quality was okay at best and very slow from arriving to eating. Make sure the restaurant is busy and the kitchen is hot if you eat on site. The morning breakfasts were great though.

Nice location close to transport to city center. multiple different restaurants nearby also open before 19:00. Clean room and option to charge Car in HOTEL garage. Room is Good and clean as expected. Price/quality is OK. Location is good. Facilities are good. Breakfast is Good. Beds are very good (large 220 x200)

Nothing, as expected and selected

It was conveniently located, close to metro line that is 15 mins to downtown. The staff was very helpful in providing maps and things to do. It also had a balcony which was lovely.

The hotel is slightly older and it took a while to figure out the TV. Some amenities that I was accustomed to at other Eurostars hotels were not available which would have been nice.

price for the hotel based on my initial searches were 91 euros per night but when booked 7nights the price wasn’t 91 euros for each night breakdown was more expensive (excluding city tax) possibly issue between normal days and public holidays but I’ve never paid more than the price per night x the amount of nights total. it’s either the property or Booking.com problem
