Hotel Herastrau

We stayed with our 2 kids (7 and 10 years). Shortly, our expectations were exceeded. We've been to Bucharest a few times, but this time we saw it from a different angle and mostly it's due to this hotel and its location. Most iconic was the Location, quiet, huge parc, big lakes, in the parc a lot of activities for the family, places to see, a museum, in like 10 mins you have few groceries, many many different restaurants, few restaurants at the hotel. Our room with a Lake view and a terrace aside from any noisy roads, was perfect. Breakfast was diverse and the chef made us some fresh and very fine fried eggs. The staff is friendly and you can have a nice friendly talk with everybody. The rooms are clean, with everything you need.

The location is excellent, very close to the lake. It takes just a walk of about 30-40 minutes to get to The Village Museum or the Japanese Garden. Also, the food at the restaurant is very, very good.

Just a small mention on this section....the room was very clean when we checked in. However, during the 2 nights stay, with the standard of this hotel, I was expecting that at least the garbage would be taken away. Nobody seemed to have entered the room though. Otherwise everything was fine.

Amazing staff, very polite and helpful , great quality service, food and location. This as my 2nd time staying at the property, I would certainly stay here again and I highly recommended it.

Maybe reconsider the AC units configuration so 2 separate bedrooms do not depend on each other to use the AC/heat. I was trying to turn on AC, but the room under mine was connected to the same AC power unit, and that room had the heat on, I couldn’t turn on AC, had to change rooms middle of the night

The location is excellent, good accessibility within the city, still calm, good air quality There is great chance for jogging in the large surrounding park or even around the lake The breakfast was exceptionally good incl. local dishes

There was no possibility to rent sport equipment despite that it was advertised.

The staff was the friendliest and the most helpful I have even had during my trips so far. If I did not know something they found out for me, if I missed something they got it for me. I met a friend I had not see in 21 years and they treated her with the same hospitality as they treated me even if she was not a paying guest.

Nothing could have been better, it was wonderful

Rsstaurant has a 10% discount for hotel guests, but its complicated to apply(charge to the room and pay at the reception) so we were unable to benefit due the early leving hours, Restaurant has "bacsis" service fee included on the reciept but also expected some extra.

it’s far from the old city, 6 km away and the closest metro station is 2 km which is 25 minutes walking and Bolt don’t go to the hotel area neither the taxis on street want go there. the only one who wants to go there is Uber so it made us a little difficult if you don’t have a car.

I absolutely loved the friendly staff, everyone was super nice and helpful. The place itself is a little outdated, but extremely clean and the location, the best! We had a room with garden view, lots of trees and felt like in a forrest. Loved the vibe of the place and breakfast was super nice 😍

Very spacious room, comfortable large double bed, situated in a great, quiet location. All personal was lovely and during our stay I felt I was somewhere outside Bucharest (which felt excellent).

The carpet in the room wasn't the cleanest although you could clearly see it was hoovered; the bathroom, although functional and clean, could benefit from some refurbishment/fixing to meet the expectations of a 4 stars hotel.

The truth was I was prepared to have a regular experience according some comments that I had read, but actually in my case it was the opposite, it was a great experience and I was very happy with the stay. First, the location of the place on the lake is excellent, plus you have the option of parking your car, something that in Bucharest is essential and saves you a lot of stress. Second, the attention we received was very good, a very friendly receptionist, we arrived at night. we received a spacious and clean room on the first floor. Although that night there was a very important electronic music festival that could be heard from many parts, but, inside the room the noise was very very low, enough to rest peacefully with the 2-year-old child that we have. The bathroom offers very good quality shampoo and is clean, as is the entire room. Breakfast next to the hotel was also good and the man who attended us was very attentive to us and the child. In conclusion a great experience in a very nice and quiet location in the city.
