Story Hotel Studio Malmo, part of JdV by Hyatt

It was our second stay at this hotel, we really love their comfy beds and pillows! The windows were clean this time so you get the perfect sea view and can take nice sunrise pictures. The breakfast is great - they even have waffles! There was never any shortage of food or place to sit for the whole week - don't get scared by some comments here :) We were rather late for breakfast and never experienced any problems. The location is perfect - you can easily get to the sea or city centre by foot. And all the staff is very polite and helpful!

The price is a bit too high..

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Loved the ambiance! The decor and lightning was great. And the view was vast and stunning, even though we stayed on the 10th floor, which is the lowest one. The restaurant with breakfast is world class. Location was great, on a quiet, separate island that houses the university. Still just a couple minutes walk from the central station. 5-10 minutes walk from Old Town and other sights. There's a great local brewery with bar and bistro just outside the hotel across the water, called Hyllie bryggeri, where we enjoyed a bite to eat and a few of their own crafted brews in the sun. Can warmly recommend!

The shower was strangely designed. Impossible to make room for a proper shower without opening the whole cabin and splashing water over the whole bathroom. The toilet was also an annoying design with the typical german "platform". Room service had some technical limitations so they couldn't bring drinks to the room, just food. Which wasn't a biggie since you can just take the elevator to the restaurant and bring it down yourself. Should still be easy to fix. The cleaning wasn't the best we've seen. Lots of black hairs and dust on the floor around the bed.

The bed was extremely comfy! Gorgeous view. Great location. There are a lot of people who wrote here about the lack of place during the breakfast. We stayed here 3 nights, and never experienced big crowds. We chose the last or next to last time slot for the breakfast, but the choice of the food was always good. And there were waffles too! I will definitely choose this hotel for my next trip to Malmö!

Would be great if the windows were cleaned from the outside from time to time to fully admire the great view of the sea. The elevators can be tricky as there were times when we had to make a round "tour" because the stuff used priority card and we just had to go to different floors before the buttons would work for us.

The location is perfect. It is within walking distance of the most important sights and also a 10 min walk to the area of restaurants and cafes. The view from the room is fabulous.

The electrical part of the room is strange to say the least. In the bathroom the light is very dim and the ceiling lights didn’t work at all . The AC is centralized and although there is a control panel in the room, it was not functional. In the bathroom you didn’t have even the basics like a shower cap. The bottle in which the shower gel was in, was fixed and blocked, so unusable.

the building is really cool! loved the rooftop bar, which we didn't realize existed at the property. A great place to have a cocktail at sunset. The breakfast buffet in the morning was excellent - made to order waffles, meats and cheese, toast, overnight oats, eggs, bacon, etc. etc. Lots of food options and eating breakfast on the rooftop restaurant was nice as well. Our room had a view of the water which was lovely, and the bed was comfortable. we only spent one night but loved the location and the hotel.

our check-in time was late as the room wasn't ready.

Room design was great, high rise hotel so great views. Breakfast room is on 14th floor with outdoor area. Very comfortable beds, good bathroom products Urban Apothecary - very comfortable stay. Definitely coming back to Malmo and this hotel. Staff were really pleasant, looked after our bags until check in. Gave us an extra towel & coffee when we needed. Good breakfast selection. Highly recommend. Great location on water front but minutes (and visible) from Malmo Central station.

The staff was very pleasant, welcoming, and always available. The hotel looks great and it's a few-minute walk away from the Central Station. The room was cleaned daily by the staff. The breakfast in Kasai in the sky restaurant was good, the same every day, but that's okay. On our last day, we couldn't make it in time for breakfast because we had an early flight, but the staff ordered takeout breakfast for us at the time that suited us best.

The windows couldn't open at all in the room. This didn't affect our stay or bother us much, but we wouldn't mind some fresh air beside the air conditioning.

Very nicely designed modern hotel and room, comfortable bed and nice furniture. We were on the 13th floor and there was an amazing views. Lovely reception area.

The windows don’t open for fresh air. We were a few mins late for checkout and one of the staff knocked and waited outside the door for us to leave. I thought that was very rude especially we arrived very late to the hotel around 23:00 pm.

Great view on the Harbour. Others than that a business hotel with average breakfast.

The restaurant on the 14th floor is outsourced and the „hotel“ skybar within that Japanese restaurant a tiny space next to the food bar. Despite service capabilities we waited 30 minutes to be served for drinks (as we did not want to eat something). We did not feel welcome in the bar. The service for us hotel guest was poor and actual quite disappointing.

We checked out recently from this nice hotel and wanted to take a taxi to the airport where he had a plane to catch. Unfortunately it was rush hour and there were no taxis available no matter how many calls we and the hotel desk personnel made. As we were with kids, me and my wife were started to get concerned and figured out the chances to miss the plane were pretty high. Seeing we might have a problem, a nice gentleman from the Reception offered to give us a ride to the airport. Of course we hapilly accepted only to find out the gentleman was Sebastian, the General Manager of the hotel himself. Now this is what I call service!
