Kindness Hotel - Kaohsiung Main Station

Staff were very friendly and patient with my level of Mandarin. The room was huge even for two people and was extremely clean. Location is excellent, only across the road from the station. The buffet breakfast were delicious and quite a large variety available. A designated area to relax on the ground floor with coffee, ice cream and small selection of snacks.

Around the corner from the train station so very convenient to take day trips from also. Station is under construction so a little hectic around the area at the moment. Lots of bus options around the area, although because of the construction you need to check if a stop is closed or not. The check-in was easy and swift. There's a lounge area where you can help yourself to drinks and ice cream which is a nice touch. The room and bathroom were spacious. Some people commented on how outdated the decor is but I think it's the right level for the money you pay. Breakfast spread is huge with lots of both Asian and continental options. I appreciated the menu changed a little daily. Super polite and helpful dining room staff.

Coffee can improve. I think it depends on the weather but on some days the AC system must have been super humid and it smelled in the lobby and room. Couldn't get rid of it by blasting the AC as I was getting a headache but the smell went away the next day.

The SERVICE was phenomenal; when we needed assistance grabbing our luggage from the storage room before jetting to the MRT, I called ahead, and staff kindly prepared everything for our quick turnaround. The breakfast buffet has a great selection; I personally enjoyed the congee, fresh fruit, and hot soy milk. Travelers with a Western palate will likely be less accustomed to the majority of the offerings; however, there are some cereals, an omelet-like dish, toast and spreads, juices, and coffee. Rooms and facilities are very clean. Of special note, the LAUNDRY facility has several washers and dryers, free for all guests to use, powder detergent provided. The first-floor café area has a nice midcentury-like decor with plenty of outlets and good wi-fi for working on laptops. The café also has unlimited ice cream and little snacks, plus a coffee bar. Each day, each room is provided a complimentary beer. Additional beers are available for purchase.

+ overall clean rooms and comfortable enough (even if the room design could be a bit more "modern") + very good location close to the main train station (not to the high-speed train station, though, which is more outside the center) + many extras included, such as free self-service laundry/drying, free cookies, ice cream and tea/coffee, etc. + breakfast was very extensive and many warm options (that more resembled a lunch/dinner buffet), even if it was not really to my personal liking (I would have liked more fruits or more continental/international breakfast options) + parking in a (narrow) underground garage included (although can be quite full when arriving late)

- room atmosphere felt a bit dark and the window had only bad views to the next door and a bit towards some houses (but not really a big issue for me)

It was a great 4 day stay in Kaohsiung...one of the best hotels we"ve stayed in. The room was big, clean and comfortable. Toilet was with a bidet and a very good shower. It serves wonderful breakfast and the best part of the hotel is that it offers a 24 hour coffee, biscuits and ice cream counter for FREE! Its just so awesome. It is ideally located near the Kaohsiung main LRT station and next to and near some halal restaurants too. Very convenient for muslim travellers. The staffs are just great too, really friendly and so helpful. Kindness hotel is THE HOTEL to stay when you visit Kaohsiung

We had to pay a deposit of our stay upon booking - which was the whole amount of the 4 day stay and we had to pay the whole amount again when we checked into the hotel. The deposit will only be returned after 1 month from the date of our booking.

Large hotel right next to the train station. Due to the central location you can reach everything quickly. The room is comfortably furnished with everything it needs for a pleasant stay. The bed was comfortable, it was cleaned daily, the AC is not too noisy and the shower is equipped with many care products. There is 24h free coffee, tea, ice cream and cookies. The breakfast (like the complete hotel) is geared towards Chinese guests, there is plenty of choice and good coffee. Also there is a well-equipped laundry room, you can use everything free of charge.The staff at the reception is very friendly and some speak English. All in all good value for money.

The rooms facing the train station are quite noisy despite insulation and closed windows, also because the station is under construction. The design of the hotel is a bit outdated. In the evenings during our stay it was quite noisy in the lounge area due to larger groups.

The location is just a 5 mins walk from the train and metro station. So, it was very convenient to travel to other parts of Kaohsiung. The night market is also within walking distance (about 10mins away), yet we are actually still quite spoilt for choices as there are many fast food restaurant and local delights outside the hotel. I also love the snack room which provides free flow hot tea and coffee and little snacks. It makes the stay extra comfortable and easier while waiting for laundry. By the way, the self-service laundry is free which is a relieve for my family as we washed, dry our load of clothes.

If you have a car, DO NOT CHOOSE THIS PROPERTY!! Parking is free but the parking garage is super tight and requires an expert driver to get into the spot. You enter via a back lane and enter a car elevator, then many tight turns. Requires a passenger to spot your corners, I was extremely agitated by this carpark!! The hotel was in a more run down location. Seems lots of loiterers smoking cigarettes outside the hotel.

Top location at the heart of the city, steps from shops/fast-food chains and the main train station. Spotless clean with a great customer service. Breakfast is verily excellent (unless you solely rely on Western style, as it is mostly comprised of oriental items...), and the real top feature is the lounge-lobby, a 24 hours space where you can refresh with hot and cold beverages, snacks and even a selection of delightful ice cream flavours! Highly recommended, an optimal value that delivers a great experience.

The stay at this hotel was one of the best I have experienced in Taiwan. The hotel staff was very kind and helpful. They helped me with everything I needed and gave me advice when I didn't understand or didn't know something. The rooms were very clean, big and cozy. The cleaning of the rooms was regular and thorough. The breakfast at the hotel was great with a lot of choices. I have always been able to choose according to taste and have always enjoyed myself. Coffee was also available. In addition, the hotel is situated in a convenient location and has excellent connections to the train, HSR, MTR and bus. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. I also recommend it to foreign travelers, you can communicate in English here without any problem.
