amba Taipei Songshan

Rooms were as pictured - very clean and spacious. The amenities were complete and the layout of the room was well-designed. Concierge was very helpful during our stay. Breakfast had good options too and the menu changed regularly. In terms of location, the area isn’t at the center of Taipei but there was good public transportation options. The neighborhood is very quiet and less hectic than other areas of Taipei too. Raohe Night Market is 5mins on foot and there are plenty of restaurants near the hotel. Would stay at this hotel again at my next visit!

The design idea behind every detail in the room (we love the slippers!) and even the numbering of the rooms! The nespresso machine was such a pleasant surprise. Love the work space as well, on top of the dining table. Layout of the room was compact and excellent, with everything within reach. Can see there is so much thought given. Even the laundrette was wonderful, with enough machines that are very clean and well maintained, and free use of detergents and softeners. Not to mention the very friendly and helpful staff, who answered all our questions.

Would have been nice if we could have early check in upon arrival as we have one very elderly on wheelchair, but we were told that we need to pay.

The room was not ready when I arrived at the hotel and the staff asked me to come back at 3 pm. When I came back at 3 pm, there was still a little delay and the staff was very apologetic. Overall, the customer service of the staff was excellent - polite, attentive and helpful. One person helped me with directions and with booking taxis. The Songshan station is just across the road and there’s also a mall across the road with some restaurants. The mall is joined with the hotel by a bridge. Unfortunately, it was difficult to find vegan food at the mall. The room is spacious and tastefully designed. The bed is really comfy as well. While I like the view of Taipei 101, the other buildings outside the hotel are old and ugly. This is generally the problem with Taipei. It is just a lovely city with friendly people but the buildings are mostly old and ugly. Perhaps the legislature should pass a law allowing developers to acquire such old estates as long as 80% of the residents agree and another law requiring building management to paint the exterior of buildings.

very convenient! there’s a bridge connecting the hotel to songshan train station/shopping mall. the mall has bookstall, muji, uniqlo, lots of eateries! it’s near wufenpu and raohe night market. lastly, it’s one stop by TRA to Taipei main station!

bathroom is small and cannot place clothes inside.

Rooms were spacious, well designed, comfy beds. Good location if you wanted to be away from the action but close to the metro and close to Rahoe Night Market.

Breakfast was mediocre. Food seemed Robb’s sitting out and didn’t taste as fresh as buffets at other hotels.

Modern decor, cleanliness and LOCATION. Excellent service making checking in a breeze. Lovely location away from the buzz and chaotic city centre, less than 5min walk to metro station.
