The property itself has a very rustic feel. The personnel here have excellent service attitudes and will not hesitate to help answer any questions… granted, I spoke to them all the way in Chinese - that might be a factor! And what’s not to like about an onsen inside your own suite, for you and your entourage? The living room space is also serviced by two air conditioners - some might call this central heating - so that’s also quite… cool. (yes I made a dad joke, cue groaning thank you thank you you’re far too kind)

This is the one minus point that made the rating lower: NO air conditioning inside the two bedrooms provided! Had to rely on the provided air purifier to provide some wind for ventilation in one of the rooms: I personally didn’t have any ventilation, so I could only sleep in the living room with the foldable futon provided. also, rustic DOES mean the provided in room furniture is a bit on the worn-down side.

The hotel is close to the thermal valley, which means that it's not close to the metro station. The hotel provides shuttle service from the metro station to the hotel but we didn't take it cos we wanted to walk a bit uphill as a small workout. Every room has its own thermal bath so you can enjoy your hot spring moment anytime you want. There is a convenient store within a few minutes walking distance and 2-3 small restaurants near the hotel. The room is decorated in a Japanese style which I love it. And the price is budget too.

It is not my first time to stay in a hot spring hotel but it's the only hotel which doesn't provide normal hot water. It doesn't have a separate shower room so you have to clean your body in the bath tub and have your hot spring bath at the same tub. I think it's a bit inconvenient and I have a smell of sulphur for 2 days (I'm ok with it but I think some people may not like it). The sound proof is not good and I can hear people chat in my bathroom.

Staff are extremely warm and friendly and were eager to help in any way. The whole stay felt very homey, like it was run by a small and tight-knit family and while the hotel is indeed very old, our rooms were very clean and the daily maintenance was done well. Breakfast was plan congee with a wide variety of condiments and additions from vegetables to egg and braised nuts. There is also plain bread with jam and butter spread. It is probably suitable for an older Asian palate, but filling all the same. You can easily walk to the convenience store which is about 1 minute away to grab pastries or other breakfast (or supper options). While the hotel isn't located very near the train station, the staff are more than happy to ferry you to and fro the hotel and station whenever you let the concierge know in a private car. The beds and futons were both very comfortable, and the hot spring water is directly pumped into your private bathroom. This is a very small hotel so amenities are limited but for the price point it's still very reasonable and a great deal.

There are no elevators to take you to rooms on the 2nd or 3rd floors. The steps leading up are rather steep and it was a bit of a challenge for elderly folk or those who may have mobility issues. The public bath was not open and looked like it was not maintained.

Staff was amazing; both receptionists and the driver of shuttle were all very helpful. Thank you to all! Especially the one who shared his last two black tea bags with me) Hotel is walking distance to the metro, restaurants and convenient stores. Large room with a private hotspring bath.Free shuttle to the metro station (note that xinbeitou is the correct station not beitou). Clean and comfy bed with extra pillows. Free coffee and water. 2 hrs massage in Bella with #18 and 99 were one of the best we have ever had.

Breakfast (100 taiwanese dollar) you can get a better breakfast outside. Cleaning of the carpet (stairs and corridor)

Retro feel old spa town hotel. It’s not 5 star sleekness but is impeccably clean with comfortable beds, pretty and well kept rooms and private hot spring tubs in the rooms. The staff were very kind and friendly and allowed us to check out an hour late. Hot breakfast with great veggie options included in the morning and free access to an excellent coffee machine. Walking distance to the beitou public hot springs, markets and main shops and restaurants. Highly recommend for the price, private hot spring access and overall old-world charm. We had an amazing stay here.

it had character and very nice staff. the location is nice by the geothermal springs, but a bit outside where everything else is. your stay came with 1-2hr of private hot spring in a hot spring pool on site, which was nice. there was hot spring water for the private tubs in each room, also very convenient. the breakfast was simple but very yummy and filling.

the whole place was a bit worn down, so if you are looking for an upscale hot spring hotel, this is probably not for you. it was also a bit far to walk to the center of the town, but the hotel provides free shuttle services to the that area until 10pm. otherwise, it was nice to get the more traditional hot spring hotel experience, probably like how it used to be.

Very happy that we made the choice to stay at Phoenix Pavilion Hot Spring Hotel. Located a short walk from Xinbeitou MRT station, the area is quaint and quiet. The hotel shuttle service was always available for us which was super convenient and walking back to the hotel at night would be a little dark. The staff were all so lovely and the sweetest 阿媽 oversaw the hotel - she treated us like we were family and always made sure we had breakfast before we left which was a hearty traditional Taiwanese breakfast. Each room had their own private onsen which was so relaxing to come back to after a long day. One thing I wanted to highlight was that we had arrived early in the morning on our first day and had gotten off a long international flight and were desperate for a shower. The hotel staff without hesitation, took us up to one of the private onsens and also gave us towels to use then 阿媽 of course wouldn’t let us go without feeding us breakfast - what a godsend and a true depiction of the service at Phoenix Pavilion Hotspring Hotel.

The hotel is older, but clean. When we arrived, I asked about going in the hotsprings. We made an appointment for the next morning. We traveled with a toddler and they provided a mattress with a quilt and pillow. Very accommodating and helpful. Day two, we left our luggage at the hotel while we explored the area. Grateful to know that our things were safe and taken care of. Breakfast was a typical Taiwanese breakfast with porridge or rice and stirfried dishes. Otherwise, there was toast. It helped that we spoke Chinese.

For someone who is not physically fit, it could be a challenge to walk up from town. I didn't realize how far it was from the vegetable market area. The facility showed its age, but was clean. It didn't have an elevator.

Characteristic hotel with all you need. Natural hot spring bathtub, comfy bed, fridge, kettle, hairdryer, mirror, clothes shelf/hangers, table armchair, bedside table with lamp... all in the right place & good condition. Lovely staff with great service mind and super kind, good English speaking too. Free shuttle service and luggage deposit also super helpful. Location is in the heart of Beitou- just around the corner from the Main Street, easy to explore around in short walk.
