Was clean and secure. Bed was comfortable. Shower was warm and had good flow. Definitely would stay here next time I’m in the north east.

Room was quite full, but not to a degree that it caused any problems: ie. Couldn’t open the bathroom and bedroom door fully at the same time, and the shower door wouldn’t open fully due to the toilet. However, these are very minor things, and didn’t cause me any problems. I was quite worried on the day of arrival, as I saw that there were lots of very negative recent reviews. However, my experience was very pleasant and I don’t recognise any of the things that people mentioned in the bad reviews.

The room was absolutely fantastic. While some of the items seemed a bit dated and the TV didin't work, the room was incredibly spacious and the beds where so comfortable and soft! The duvets where incredibly thick and warm, which while it may be too warm for some during the summer heat, I found it perfect. Each bed had a pillow which must have been made out of clouds themselves - they where so soft and amazing. Each bed also came with a soft blanket and a couch pillow which was useful. Overall, in a way it was inconvenient, only because it all cumulated to me not wanting to leave the bed nor the room ever! As for the rest of the room, the window opened quite wide and when closed managed to block out a lot of the noise, which was helpful for when I had to take a nap during daytime hours from exhaustion. There was a set of blinds and blackout curtains which was even better and very much appreciated. The room also came with a desk and chair for items, a sink, and a closet for clothes, which contained a mirror I had to move to near the sink to find any use from it. Overall, it was a fantastic room and I would definitely love to stay in it again. The rest of the hotel was very cosy as well, with soft carpets all over and a accessible bathroom which, while quite small and claustrophobic, had everything you'd expect. The hotel had lots of outdoor seating and even a mini bar with beers on draught which was a nice touch. Overall, it was a great experience and I'd love to stay there again.

It was sometimes difficult to get attention or find someone to check in and out, and to ask general questions. It was also a bit of a pain with check in times, where different places had conflicting information about when was the best time to check in. The location, while quite scenic and nice at the hotel itself, was in quite a isolated area of town, and getting there was a nightmare at first until I found out about being able to take electronic scooters to a space nearby on my last day. All of this however where quite minor annoyances.

Very friendly staff. Andy behind the desk couldn’t do enough for us, and if he decides the hotel game isn’t for him, I’m sure he’d be able to get by as a stand-up comedian!

Wee bit further out from the city centre than I would liked, but it’s quick enough getting a taxi, although the £4/£5 fare has recently gone up to £9/£10. The rooms are basic, but do what they say on the tin - at the end of the day, who goes to Newcastle to sit in a hotel room anyway!?

It was in a nice quiet location, 30 minute walk from station but for £35 fair enough. Premises pleasant with nice exterior. Room was small with single bed but clean, smelled nice and had what I needed for a short stopover. Easy check-in and check-out with friendly staff. Later check-in accommodated. Price excellent for room with ensuite.

Television was tiny very high up near ceiling so viewing from bed impossible as images would saturate if viewed from an angle. Cold tap in bathroom sink was loose but seemed to work otherwise. Mattress not the comfiest.

All staff were very welcoming and friendly, as were the other guests. Myself, my husband & our 2 friends stayed for one night. We planned to attend a concert at the NX, then head back to the hotel to change before hitting a few bars. We ended up staying at the hotel after the event to drink instead as it was much more our scene. We stayed in a double room with an ensuite. Everything was perfect & even better than our expectations. To park on site was just £5 a day, which is much better than it been at risk on the residential street located outside the property. We will definitely be back. We enjoyed the full experience! Thank you to you and your team 🙌

The staff were really friendly and accommodating. While we were there, I pointed out to one of the staff that one of the switches was broken on the plug socket behind the bed, in the morning this was and he said he would sort it out, when we got back in later that day it was sorted.

The bathroom shower curtain needed replacing cos it was all ripped and wasn't of good quality. It could have done with a bath mat at the side of the bath and non slip bath mat inside the bath.

The LACK OF FUSS in the checking in and the checking out process, the FRIENDLY STAFF and the general aesthetics of the place. Also, quite important, it was RESTFUL. In terms of price, I think the COST was FAIR or the next best thing to it.

The lack of emphasis on certain details, such as additional furniture or added comfort (referring here to no bedstand, desk, kettle, tea or coffee). However, given the current economical challenges for the hospitality industry, the size of the room (it was a single size, as per my booking) within a Victorian house (historic architecture less permissive for creating spacious hotel rooms) and my personal sense of purpose in line with the journey, I am happy with the general experience.

The hotel is very nice for the price. Sits off the street in its own grounds so seems a bit quieter than many. There's a patio and even a small kids playground. The room was better than I was expecting, with desk which is always appreciated. The bathroom had been recently redone, clearly to a budget but was very presentable.

Check in closed at 10pm, not great for me as I was travelling a distance beforehand. I was able to rejig my schedule to fit but it might be a deal-breaker for some folks.
